“the Food is very good BUT too expensive for what you get. I ordered a Fisherman's Platter and it was like a single plate. I can go to many other places and spend a lot less for a lot more! The people are very nice there so I wish them well! If I win the Lottery I'll be back! too $$$$$“

“As the inventor of the fried clam, this place destroyed almost all other places that sell fried clams.
The fried clams that I had here yesterday were the best that I ever had! The slaw was good too.
This place is huge and is able to handle large crowds.
There are two separate lines/counters for beverages vs food. There are free drink refills on the fountain drinks.
The staff here does a great job.
I am thankful that I learned of this place and was able to go here.
They offer ice cream, but it is seasonal.
I really do need to reassess my prior fried clam restaurant choices…

“We drive 45 minutes to & from to eat at the Clam Box. My husband grew up down the street and I worked in town for 15 years. Plus my parents would take me there as a kid. ALWAYS consistent! ALWAYS delicious. 10 out of 10! Worth the wait in line at peak season every time!“

“Stopped at Essex Seafood, for the first time, yesterday. I can’t say enough good things about it! The building, inside and out, is immaculate! Once you get inside, the help is courteous and kind! And the food is so good! My wife and I, each got a special, and the portions were huge. Everything was delicious, and their onion rings are awesome. You cannot go wrong, stopping here!“

“We loved Newburyport and were grateful to find a perfect location for our lunch stop on our way from Boston to Acadia. Elizabeth was our server and she was excellent. We were seated outside with a harbor and park view. It was quiet, in the shade and thoroughly enjoyable. We had the lobster roll and a dozen oysters and the food was delicious. It was hard to live this charming town, but it won our hearts so we hope to be back. Thank you!!“

“Everything we had was amazing. Steamers, onion rings, garlic bread, grilled swordfish, fish and chips, and haddock sandwich all great. The only "complaint" would be that the fries are just ok. Definitely would recommend and definitely would eat there again.“

“Lena's opening is the final sign of Spring! ❤️ The food is amazing. And I am VERY picky about seafood. I have lived on the ocean my entire life. Have always had access to the freshest possible seafood. I won't even eat any fried seafood while Lena's is closed for the winter. There is one other place that is very good but their prices are insane! The family that owns the place is fantastic...as is the staff. They even helped out my mother with the mercy meal after my father's memorial. Just to give you an idea how good it is. I will eat there at least 3 times the week they open....and I do the same the week they close.“

“They've got two of the best bartenders in New Hampshire, hands down. The vibe here is casual, friendly, and perfect for catching a game--there are TVs everywhere, so you won't miss a thing. The food is seriously impressive. The fish tacos are fantastic, and somehow they're offering a $9.99 lobster roll, which is hard to beat. Everything I've tried has been delicious. Drinks are just as good--$2 draft beers are always on special, which makes it even better. And yes--free popcorn! It's always a nice touch and makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. What really stands out, though, is the service. The staff checks in often without being overbearing, making sure you have everything you need. It genuinely feels like one of those places "where everybody knows your name." “Fresh lobsters right off the boat and the sweetest steamers. Friendly, welcoming service. I highly recommend stopping in here. There are picnic tables to sit and watch the boats come into the harbor as well.“

“This place is so good. Like this is the place you think back upon. You know how you are eating a burger and say ah it’s good but it ain’t as good as… well the place that would fill in blank is the James smash burger that is the precedent for why burgers should be.“

My major critique would be the breakfast potatoes served for breakfast and brunch for the amount of money you're charging you would be well. served to actually make them fresh (they currently seemed like something you would buy in bulk in a bag in Walmart and just throw on a pan in an oven no seasoning, clearly premade, store-bought, lowest quality-more like potato chunks, not even home fries) and including the bread assortment as part of the breakfast would also be a nice touch the fact that you have to pay for that now - when it used to be included - is just kind of ridiculous when the prices are much higher than anywhere in the area and I know we're paying for the view but like it's still silly! I will say your lunch salads are a wonderful deal!“

“There's a few tables inside to sit out picnic table outside to sit at. It would be great to take the food to go. The fish sandwich. There was so much fish. It was falling out of the sandwich and it was delicious. Not greasy. It was cooked at the correct temperature. The fish was done all the way through without being burnt or undercooked. It was perfect. You couldn't ask for a better fish. Coleslaw was exquisite very good tasting food. Kind polite people. Waiting on you taking your order. Just an overall great experience“
