“I go to Woodman's for the best scallops and the haddock is sooo good, too. Clams are loose and juicy - whereas down the road they are tight and crispy - so there is preference and debate about that. I have loved Woodman's for years. Love the place - clam people should explain their preferences a bit more :).
It's a fried seafood place - so get fried seafood - split a platter rather than chowder and cake if you want a lighter meal :)“

“Everything we had was amazing. Steamers, onion rings, garlic bread, grilled swordfish, fish and chips, and haddock sandwich all great. The only "complaint" would be that the fries are just ok. Definitely would recommend and definitely would eat there again.“

“Lena's opening is the final sign of Spring! ❤️ The food is amazing. And I am VERY picky about seafood. I have lived on the ocean my entire life. Have always had access to the freshest possible seafood. I won't even eat any fried seafood while Lena's is closed for the winter. There is one other place that is very good but their prices are insane! The family that owns the place is fantastic...as is the staff. They even helped out my mother with the mercy meal after my father's memorial. Just to give you an idea how good it is. I will eat there at least 3 times the week they open....and I do the same the week they close.“

“Stopped at Essex Seafood, for the first time, yesterday. I can’t say enough good things about it! The building, inside and out, is immaculate! Once you get inside, the help is courteous and kind! And the food is so good! My wife and I, each got a special, and the portions were huge. Everything was delicious, and their onion rings are awesome. You cannot go wrong, stopping here!“

“totally not worth it the portions are not the same as they used to be the service stunk they gave me the wrong order and tried to say it was the same price when I went back I will never be back again and the quality of the food was gross my cat enjoyed the fish“

Drinks are just as good--$2 draft beers are always on special, which makes it even better. And yes--free popcorn! It's always a nice touch and makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. What really stands out, though, is the service. The staff checks in often without being overbearing, making sure you have everything you need. It genuinely feels like one of those places "where everybody knows your name."
