“Very friendly atmosphere and accommodating to our youngest who is wheelchair bound. Nice little spot with a mom and pop feel to it. Food was very tasteful and service was wonderful! “This place really is a gem! Awesome atmosphere, GREAT food- everything we had from the Benedict, waffles, smash burger, and the crazy deserts all were so good!

Also I HAVE to mention Paulina! Our server was out of this world! Our entire table all unanimously agreed she was the best waitress we’ve ever had.

“I was getting some work done on my car nearby and needed to kill a half hour or so. Kind of hidden/not super noticable from the outside, very cute pharmacy counter inside with a lot of cheap breakfast options. They are cash only (there's an ATM, $2 fee at time of posting).

I just got scrambled eggs with bacon and toast, SUPER reasonably priced, mostly older folks were there, eating and chatting or playing Keno.

The other patrons and the staff were all super chatty and kind. I honestly had a delightful time, if I lived closer I'd find excuses to come by all the time, great vibes.“

“Haven’t been here in YEARS, still the gem in Roxbury. This Black owned breakfast spot allows you to pull up and enjoy a home cooked breakfast with affordable and reasonable prices. I would absolutely recommend this spot. The sweet tea was too sweet so they made me half and half which was good!

“We just spent the last week in Washington DC, eating all sorts of things from various cuisines - this breakfast takes 1st place. Absolutely amazing, and worth a stop in. The staff is beyond friendly, a breath of fresh air from some of the stuffer persons we've encountered on our trip. The food was delicious - my wife got the eggs Benedict with crab cakes I don't even like crab cakes, and I kept stealing bites, it was that good. 11/10.“

“We recently tried Sunnyside Up (in Weymouth, MA) and it completely blew us away. It’s a small, diner-style breakfast and lunch spot with a really welcoming feel.
Parking was easy with a lot right next door (in a Car Detailing lot, next door). From the moment we walked in, the service was quick, friendly, and attentive.
The food was outstanding. The bagel egg and cheese with turkey sausage was done perfectly, and the homemade fries, hash and eggs with hollandaise sauce outstanding.

“I’ve been coming to this deli for 13 years and I order the same thing regularly. It’s not even a menu item, so I’ve always been charged based on what goes into it, and the price has been consistent every time I’ve ordered it.

Today, I was charged significantly more than usual. I still paid it because I assumed prices may have gone up. The issue started when I simply mentioned that the price was different than what I normally pay.

The employee immediately became loud, rude, and confrontational. He claimed he was giving me a discount today, even though I never asked for one and was willing to pay the price. I was only pointing out that the amount was different than what I had always been charged before.

What should have been a simple conversation turned into an unnecessary scene. After being a customer for 13 years, I found the way I was spoken to completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

What bothered me most was feeling singled out and humiliated in front of other customers over a simple comment about the price. Whether that was his intention or not, that’s how the interaction made me feel. After 13 years of supporting this business, this experience has convinced me not to return.“

“Let’s talk about the Greatness that is called “The Grill & Eye!” I was home on a visit and as always I try to engage a new restaurant. As my Bestfriend lives in Weymouth, I stumbled across The Grill & Eye on Yelp and we decided to go for breakfast. Before even getting there, the pictures I saw had me ready to eatttttttttttt. The location was super easy to find as it sits directly on the main road. Parking is scarce, however, there is street parking available and we were able to grab a good spot. Yaay! Walking in, the ambiance is super homely and gives the feel of a mom & pops kind of restaurant. It’s small and quaint, however, they have made great use of the space. The waitress at the counter was very inviting and welcomed us with a huge smile and friendly Welcome In. As it is a seat yourself setup, we decided to sit near the back wall. Once seated the waitress was at our table immediately. She presented us with the menus and took our drink order. OhEmGee! Let’s talk about the menu. There is no shortage of options whatsoever! The variation of food options truly make it a hard decision to figure out what you want. I’m all for ordering the entire menu, lol. In all seriousness, the menu is amazing and there is something for everyone regardless of what you have a taste for. I decided to order the platter with 2 Pancakes, Bacon, Sausage Links, and Eggs. As I don’t eat eggs, I was excited that I was able to swap out my eggs for grits. It’s the small things in life that mean the most. LoL! Once our order was placed, the excitement increased and we were ready to eat. Seeing the other orders come out for the tables around us truly increased the anticipation. Ha! Lucky for me, the food didn’t take long at all. Everything was out in a timely manner and every single item on the plate was fresh. Speaking of fresh, all of the meat was quality cuts and the grits were real grits. The food was not only fresh but it was flavorful. The sweet to salt ratio provided by the pancake syrup and meat really made every single bite a mouth pleasing, flavor rewarding experience. The bacon was crispy and meaty. The pancakes were fluffy and a perfect size as they almost covered the entire plate. The sausage was flavorful and not too greasy, and best of all, the grits were not too watery or too stiff. The water to grit ratio was spot on and the natural grit flavor wasn’t overpowered by the butter, yet the butter was present and added to the creamy smooth texture that was accomplished. Overall I am overjoyed by my meal, the service, and the pricing at The Grill & Eye and I will be returning the next time I’m home for a visit.“

“We have been there many times for breakfast and the food, wait staff and atmosphere are outstanding. They have the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had! The food is always cooked to my satisfaction, I always have leftovers to bring home and the pancakes are amazingly light and fluffy, as well as very large! I can't say enough good things about them. My husband and I go there at least once every 2 weeks now that we're retired. There is ample parking and it is very easy to get to. I've noticed a lot of regulars now that we go there so often, and that's always a good sign. I highly recommend it. Our son, who is vegetarian, has no problem finding items he can eat and even he's impressed with it. It's the best breakfast place around and we won't go to any others, even Newcomb Farms, which used to be our favorite.“
