“My girls and I attempted to eat at the Salem retreat on our first morning of our trip. We waited 20 minutes for a table after watching 7-10 people be seat AFTER we were given a buzzer to wait. We left and came to Dotty & Rays. We got a table as soon as we walked in, had water brought over immediately, drink and food orders promptly taken. The food was fantastic. We had one part of our order missing and once they realized the issue, it was remedied with speed and courtesy. Everyone was very friendly and renewed our experience in Salem. We enjoyed it some much we came back this morning. This is the place to come to a good meal and pleasant experience to start your day. Come to Dotty and Rays!“

“We first found mercy tavern last October! We planned a quick trip again this year and it was on our list of places to return to! We absolutely love the atmosphere, food and amazing drinks! Can’t wait to go back.“

“We walked into Notch after a long morning or walking around Salem. The Saturday crowds were too much! Notch is tucked away on the water and was busy but we didn’t wait long for food or beer and we found an indoor table no problem. It’s all counter service so we ordered and then were given a number. All of the food was delicious. The wurst platter was the standout. The bartender was able to give a solid recommendation when a beer I wanted was kicked. Highly recommend!“

“I am a huge fan of key lime pie and have sampled it at pretty much every opportunity. Each time, I find something that isn’t an A+. The crust is too grainy or crumbly, the bakery has added meringue (which I like on lemon but not lime), or—and this is the most common offender—there is entirely too much lime in the recipe. But the key lime pie I had at Caramel was exceptional in every possible way, especially in its balance of lime flavor. I didn’t try anything else there, so I can’t vouch for the macarons or other goodies, but if you love key lime pie, RUN to this bakery!“

“The mexican cesar salad was top tier, the appetizers were all very delicious and the lava cake really ended the night beautifully. The view of the marina and hearing all the seals really added to the vibe and sitting by the fire and having the heat lamp on made it such a cozy atmosphere. Coming back again!“

“We went to Finz on a Saturday afternoon. We were a party of 8, and being they don’t take reservations, we were lucky to find seats at the bar. The staff is so pleasant and helpful. The food here was absolutely delicious. It’s the best dining we had in Salem. The clam chowder soup was so delicious, the burgers were great, my friends had oysters and loved them, the lobster roll was delicious. There is an ample sushi menu and the sushi was great. Definitely try the squash wedge and beet and goat cheese salad. The restaurant is on the water, and it’s nice and spacious. The drinks were great as were the bartenders. Do not leave Salem without dining here!“

“While visiting Salem I was super excited to try the Hocus Pocus flight, loved how there was an outdoor area and they even had a food vendor onsite! I brought my pup along for the trip and she was also welcomed with open arms and had a water bowl and a treat! If you’re visiting Salem this is a great place to stop, great vibes and friendly staff, plus pet friendly!“

“My fiancé and I were craving oxtail and decided to order from this Jamaican restaurant—and let me just say, the food did not disappoint! The oxtail was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything we tried was seasoned so well and packed with flavor.

I forgot to grab the chef’s name, but whoever was behind the food that night deserves a big shoutout. You can tell there’s real love and skill going into the cooking here. We’ll definitely be ordering again—highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic, delicious Jamaican food! I was not able to take pictures but we will be back and let me not forget my beef patty- I ate it for lunch and it was perfect!“

“We were a few days late for Halloween in Salem so we decided to stop in at Longboards for a quick bite. Their flatbread pizza is excellent and the full service bar has it all. Friendly service and great food on the water at Pickering Wharf in Salem. We had lots of fun playing music trivia at the bar! Highly recommended.“

“Kokeshi is in residency with Bambolina (a wood-fired pizza joint, also delicious) and it's perfect! My husband and I (and our puppy, Dexter) stopped in for lunch on Wednesday and were treated to a wonderful meal with an awesome server and comfortable outdoor seating. I had the Spicy White Kimchi Ramen and my husband had the Margherita pizza. Both were amazing! I highly recommend stopping in when in Salem!“

“When visiting Salem, it seems like this place is a MUST for lunch!!! Definitely not your typical burger joint. The menu is creative, unique, and delicious. I suggest getting the pulled pork mac n cheese eggroll as the appetizer. The atmosphere is cozy, energetic, and fun and the servers are top notch!!!“

“We had the spicey chicken sandwich and the chicken sandwich with ice cream on it. Let me just say, it was life changing. Kind of like that time you found out ice cream and french fries is like heaven. We even dipped the spicy chicken sammie in the ice cream and that went very well together also. The staff was awesome. The brewery attached also had delicious beers to accompany this (we had the peel out, closest to a hefe we could get). I would highly highly recommend. I will for sure be coming back to have this again some day. This is only like the 2nd review I have ever done. I don't like to review stuff this place was so good I felt compelled to review it.“

There are so many dining choices in Salem, and we return here time after time. Classic Italian with some interesting additions mixed in, like the Chicken Miguel. The eggplant rollatini is the best I’ve ever had. Large portions and reasonable pricing. Generous pours on cocktails. Even in October, when the city is incredibly busy, the food and service remain top notch.“

“First time at bonchon and what a place!! It was really good and affordable and I had to take leftovers you get a lot of food for the price. We got the Seoul plate? Forgot the name but it was a shared plate full of street corn, wings, pot stickers, radish, and fries with bulgogi and cheese on it. Wonderful!!!!“

“I had the lamb vindaloo and garlic naan. The server suggested that it was hot and suggested I get it at medium instead of regular spice. I bristled at this and took it as an insult, and that was a mistake, my friends. This was easily one of the spiciest things I've ever had in my life. While I ate it all, my mouth was involuntarily salivating for an hour after and my nose just would stop running. I legit cried and apologized to the server for my hubris. Please keep in mind, it was absolutely delicious, and it was a generous portion size.“
