Our food was excellent too: We shared the arincini and the beet salad, and had the eggplant entree. The chocolate soufflé dessert was a fine way to end our meal. “Haven’t been to the Hawthorne by the Sea in years. Went in for a light lunch and cocktails with a friend. I had a shrimp cocktail, my friend got the baked clams a la Anthony we both got the yummy Glover salad, of course popovers and marinated mushrooms it was all delicious. We also had delicious expresso martinis. Recommend going I think they may be closing which is sad.“

I came here by myself and arrived a few minutes early- everyone was extremely welcoming and attentive from the moment I stepped in.I ate at the bar and the service was again warm and attentive. The food is phenomenal. It's not inexpensive but it is worth every cent.Seems odd to recommend the asparagus at a seafood restaurant- but have the asparagus! Perfectly cooked and flavorful. The crab cake was excellent and the buttermilk biscuit is reason enough to travel to Boston.This is my second visit and it has been fantastic each time.“
“Just bellied up to Austin's copper bar for some yummy lunch. This cozy place, clearly reeking of history and warm vibes, served amazing portions and great flavors. I'm a Reuben fanatic. Mercy served up just what you'd want in a Reuben! My seasonal veggie side was fresh and flavorful without becoming soggy or bland. Respect. Thankfully, my friend order the fries. These were special- truffle and Parmesan russets perfectly fried to crispy yet still soft and warm inside. The big surprise was when I noticed whole garlic cloves roasted and scattered throughout! Amazing. Local and some far delicious tap selections rounded out our experience (I had a Guinness). Thanks so much Austin at Mercy! You've got a great thing going! We will be back!“

The staff was incredibly kind from the moment we entered until the moment we left. A lot of the staff have been working there for 5+ years so they were passionate and informative about the restaurant and what it has to offer. & Our server, Bill, was the greatest, shout out to Bill!
