The portion sizes were great and so reasonably priced. Everything we ordered just kept getting better! The mussels where a large portion with the best toasted bread to dunk in such a flavorful broth. We tried the crunchy pork tacos which were great. Kids had the chicken fingers with curly fries and home made Mac n cheese both loved them. The fish n chips was a great entree to split after the apps and had so much flavor along with the Jersey fries that you couldn’t stop eating. Finished this unbelievable meal with ice cream for the littles and the screwball desert for us which was a homemade waffle with ice cream in a whisky Carmel sauce. Staff was friendly and great! For a place that is not that large they do a decent job of utilizing the space to seat customers and also make it not feel super cramped. We chose Le Ros in advance because they had a great lunch menu with lots of options and, even better, the chance to try a few things at once. We ate late so it was basically empty. The staff was welcoming and attentive. My husband ordered the unagi box and I had the vegetarian. We enjoyed both a great deal. The restaurant is lovely and off of Atlantic so it was quiet and calm. It's small and very loud when it's busy, so be prepared for that. There was a wait and a group ahead of my husband and I when we went in on Saturday night. Not really the scene for us because we were more interested in the food than the bar. We ended up stopping in for lunch Sunday afternoon instead. Way more our speed, it was quiet with a few people in there having a drink and lunch. The service was fast, friendly and attentive. The gourmet grilled cheese is out of this world! We ordered corndogs as an app, then "La Femme" and "A Fig Deal" and shared them along with some cocktails. “If you are thoughtful about when you eat there and adjust your expectations accordingly, it's a wonderful experience. This is in the heart of Tourist Salem, so understand the limitations of a tourist restaurant during the busy season. They run a very well organized kitchen but waitstaff will vary depending on the season and year. The head chef is nothing short of brilliant. The menu is thoughtful and inspired for the vast majority of potential diners. The line cooks range from competent to truly talented and motivated. I have eaten here a dozen occasions and have never seen a plate served that wasn't carefully presented according to the original design. Consistency is surprising given the fact that this is a popular tourist eatery, but that's why my fellow locals also keep returning. It's a 3.5/4 restaurant with appropriate prices. The seafood is always peak freshness and chicken and steak options have always been perfect. It does get very crowded and a bit loud on weekends or most nights during the summer & October. Please plan appropriately and expect a wait during that time. A small tip at the checkin station certainly could help you acquire a better table if not shorten your wait a small amount(not official policy, of course). It's not needed though as most seats are excellent and the wait is rarely very long due to two floors of dining options. Still, if it's a special night or you are looking to impress, a tip and a kind word will go a long way. Note: The world is rapidly changing and some seem to carry pride at displaying a lack of empathy, decency, and manners in public. Please don't be rude to the staff at the restaurant even if you aren't having an ideal experience. Instead, try politely discussing your issues with a staff member away from the table. If you are kind and express understanding, they will return the same and work to find a solution with you. This is about all restaurants and most businesses in general. I am just leaving this here as a good number of reviews seem to not understand that all of the employees are truly striving to give you a great experience. Some issues are beyond their control and a decent human being will understand that difference.“

In fact, potentially ruined us for all seafood moving forward as there is literally nothing negative to say!!! Victor and his family have a wonderful "hidden" gem here! My husband and I placed our order, and Victor came to notify us that his father was on his way from the boats with lobster, and there would be a wait, maybe 15 minutes. Had he not told us, we would have never noticed, as we were more than preoccupied by the amazing calamari, salad and fresh baked bread. “Very surprised and the quantity of the meal since the prices are so reasonable. It was a lot of food. The fig salad and veal saltimbocca were amazing. The veal was thick and the prosciutto in the fig and goat cheese salad was in large fresh pieces. Tried the tiramisu and espresso martinis. Both were yummy. Food was served very fast. Still on our salads when our mains came. My husband ordered the veal stack. It was amazing as the veal was grilled and rested on a bed of greens bordered by small roasted potatoes. Their fried shrimp is pretty darned good and their classic New England coleslaw accompaniment is done better than others around the area (many have a vinegar base)! Fries are solid, straight cut, and very good. We had Bacon Wrapped Scallops for an appetizer and we're impressed! The service was very pleasant and efficient. We had a round of drinks from the bar before dinner. The bloody mary was heavy on horseradish, the MBC Lunch seemed a little less than fresh, and the Switchback Amber was perfect! When a plate is placed with a human hair on it in front of the customer and that customer has to wait while the food is replated and others in the party start eating. It is customarily expected for the restaurant to deduct from the bill as an apology. Not here. This surprised me and premotes my reluctance on returning.“
