We had vegetables fried rice and vegetables lo mein that was good, pineapple chicken rice has some spices that we didn't like and crab rangoon had too much extra stuff that was not needed such as lots of onions and not enough cream cheese. My opinion is 4 stars.“
“Absolutely loved it! We had the karami and enmi ramen, and shared the gyoza. We finished every last drop of the ramen and wanted to bathe in the sauce on the gyoza OMG. “The sushi was fantastic. I based going there solely on the google review and it did not disappoint. Specifically, the salmon was amazing. Probably the best sushi grade salmon we have ever had. I wouldn't say the atmosphere is anything out of the ordinary, the service was good even though only one waitress for the number of tables. She was quite attentive and once ordered the food came out fast and presentation was great. If you want good sushi, I highly recommend Matsuba. Probably an excellent take out option and pricing was on par or slightly better than average in my opinion.Parking: There is a lot within a couple minute walk.“

This place is different. The bowl has a generous amount of fresh, high quality fish, reasonable amount of rice and other ingredients that make the bowl coherent in flavor. Went during a Saturday lunchtime. Very few customers until close to end of lunch special time. On-street parking, so limited by time of day and other business customers on the same street. It's a little "hole in the wall" place; easy to miss. In all fairness, I would try it once more to see if other dishes are better.“

“J and J is my families new spot for Asain tasty treats. Jean is a fantastic owner. She makes you feel like family from the time you enter the establishment. Sushi was fresh and delicious. They even made a special chicken tempura roll for my wife and added it to their POS ordering system for future visits. We call it the Elisabet roll named after my wife of course. My kids smashed every morsel of food on their plates which is especially rare for my picky 6 year old daughter who just loved her fried rice and Salmon. Kids meals are adult size so it's a great value . I had two Scorpion ? Bowls which got me feeling pretty lively. I imagine moving forward we will be doning weekly at J & J . “I've done take out from this place a few times now through a catering app for my job and this place never fails. Despite the large orders it gets, my food has always come on time and with great flavor. I'm not adventurous when it comes to sushi, rather I'm very basic. I have ordered the lunch combo with the crispy onion roll, crunchy shrimp roll, and shrimp dumplings and I've also tried the spicy shrimp tempura and edamame. My favorite has been the onion roll because of the crispy onions on top that provide so much flavor and the crunchy and fresh cucumber. The shrimp in my sushi has always been crispy and the rice is sticky, not hard. The only disappointment has been that the spicy shrimp tempura roll is not spicy but you can fix that with some sriracha. The edamame has a fresh taste.“

“This place is well known for sushi and takeout food. If you haven't tried the eat-in experience, I recommend it. The eat-in feels slightly elevated, though the only negative to it is that it is so small inside and the staff has nowhere to be except for the bar, which can feel a bit like crowding (not their fault, it just is what it is). We specifically came for the duck, which we have had in the past. This time, we got the mango crispy duck, and it was A+, just perfectly cooked and crispy yet tender. We also got spicy dumplings, which was a special. We loved them. In addition, we had the lo mein, which was fair. It seemed a bit oily for my tastes and lacked flavor. The scallion pancakes were fine, but served with a soy based sauce and not a plum sauce, which isn't typical around here. The cheese Rangoon (crab) was ok too. Overall, I can say for certain we will be back for that duck and the sushi (didn't have it this time, but consistently some of the best around). The drinks are also well made.“

Because of this, the feeling from the whole dish remained sad. There was no time to go back when I discovered the flaws. That's the sad experience I had today. The staff was friendly. “This place was a hidden gem; even their entrance felt hidden. We came here after dinner to drink; we ordered three rounds. We tried Rio to Tokyo, San Juan to Hanoi, Lima to Dubai, Pennies del cielo, and Guavaleada. It was interesting that they mixed flavors from the departure city to the final destination into a drink. All drinks are presented beautifully, and you really can taste the alcohol. Since we both can't drink without snacks, even though we had dinner less than half an hour ago, we ordered the wagyu temaki, snow crab temaki, negi toro temaki, and yuzu rotate temaki. The quality of the ingredients was fresh, and there was not much rice. The menu is limited; don't come here if you expect a full meal unless you want to eat a poke bowl and/or are willing to pay a lot more just for small bites. I am willing to return if I am around the area for drinks and small bites.“

Wakefield, in particular, was a bit of a food culture change for us, having grown up in the city and having lived in Somerville for years, so when this place showed up, we just had to try it. Well, we were blown away. This is some of the best sushi I've had in New England. My wife and I both have some dietary restrictions, which can be tricky with Japanese food, but Allen and his family were extremely accommodating and made us feel like 1st class citizens.
