Tried Pokeworks at Quincy Market in Boston and honestly wish I found this place sooner! The market itself was super crowded and a bit overstimulating on a Saturday night, and the location was slightly hard to find because it was packed with people — but that’s definitely more about Quincy Market being busy than the restaurant itself.

I did a collect order and highly recommend doing that because my food was ready straight away with no waiting around. The portions were EXTREMELY generous and definitely good value for money. I got the poke salad bowl with tuna and prawns and added literally every topping possible (which was great because there were so many included at no extra cost). Everything tasted fresh and filling, and I was seriously impressed by how much food I got.

The specials are just the right amount of pieces to feel full without overdoing it. Very fresh, tasty fish. There's a sushi bar as well as the main tables. Seating might be limited during peak hours, but they will go the extra mile to help you. The Pinot Grigio on the drinks menu pairs well with the nigiri and sashimi. My favorite so far was one that incorporated crunchy tempura bits into the minced tuna topping (forgot the name!).

You will have to wait for this meal, but its a great starting point. I find the meals are great to eat between work and school since I don't have much time to eat in most places.“

If Sushi is what you came for, you’ll be brought downstairs. Both spaces are narrow giving you an Intimate dining/cocktail experience. Nostalgia on the walls of retro music and items. My experience was downstairs where I ordered the 5 Kan Mori, Hamachi Maki, Negi Toro and I can’t remember the name but it had Mackerel that was torched. All of it was excellent. The Hamachi Maki and Negi Toro comes with wasabi and soy already added to the rolls, however I asked for extra wasabi based on preference. Worth the experience.“

“We went here on a weekday for lunch. I got a 3 roll Maki lunch special (spicy tuna, Fin's roll, and Alaska roll), and my partner got the sashimi lunch. The fish was fresh, and the presentation was nicely done. We go to this restaurant at least once a month and have never had a bad experience. The food is good, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant is a pleasant environment.“

“Great jazz atmosphere, the quartet definitely was the highlight of the night.

The food here is a cool fusion of Asian dishes. We got the Udon Gone Thai and the Tom Yum spaghetti. The spaghetti was delicious, with great flavor and spice profile. Fried seafood (shrimp, mussels, and calamari) were decent.
The udon dish was average. We were able to swap out the shrimp for fried chicken instead, but the dish came out quite underwhelming. First of all, we expected a Thai green curry dish to have a respectable amount of curry sauce to go with the noodles. What came out was almost a dry dish, with the udon noodles so lightly coated, it was like they had run out of sauce.. we asked if they could provide extra sauce, to which it would’ve costed another $5.. which blew our minds as it felt like they almost didn’t put any in the first place. The fried chicken didn’t have much seasoning or flavor either so the dish kind of felt lackluster.

We did get Gaga’s monster sushi roll which was quite good. The ingredients meshed well together and were overall a great experience to eat. The only downside is that the soy paper fell apart pretty easily when picking up with chopsticks.“

“What an amazing place! The portions here are soooo big I loved every bite. The cheesy ramen is delicious and the yuzu one is super refreshing also delicious. The roll was incredible and very fresh salmon bowl also looked incredible, they serve it with miso. Prices are also super reasonable for the quality.“

“I came here to try their ramen noodle. We ordered their grilled zucchini and pork belly bao bun for starter. My colleague ordered their spicy beef noodle soup while I ordered their duck noodle soup. Our starters came within 10 mins despite they are busy. Kudos to them. Grilled zucchini was okay, lack of seasoning. Pork belly bao buns on the other hand are deliciously good!!!

Beef noodle soup broth is thick and rich, beef slices are tender and juicy. Duck noodle soup broth is light and bland. I will definitely stick for their sushi on my next visit.“

“Decent sushi option in Downtown.

First tried this place years ago through a catered event, and the sushi quality back then was pretty underwhelming, so I never felt the need to return. Recently, while looking for a quick takeout option around Downtown Crossing, I decided to give it another shot.

As a rule of thumb, for spots that focus heavily on takeout and delivery, I stick to maki rolls rather than nigiri. This time, I ordered the Black Pearl Boy roll and the Crazy Tuna maki, and both were solid. Not on par with some of the more popular sushi spots, but fresh enough and well-balanced.

The vibe was also cozier than I expected. Booth seating and counter spots, with Ghibli music playing in the background, gave it a relaxed feel. If you’re looking for a casual sushi dinner downtown without high expectations, this works.“
