“The prepared items from Judith's Kitchen are some of the healthiest and most delicious foods you will find anywhere and at such reasonable prices!! We are from out of state, but will return each time we are back to see my surgeon. The salmon burger, the black bean burger, the coleslaw, the potato salad, the lentil soup, the roasted vegetables, and literally everything else are just fabulous!!! “I came in here because I was in the neighborhood. I was in the need for a quick breakfast sandwich. I got a croissaint, bacon, scrambled egg and swiss cheese and let me tell you the sandwich did not disappoint. Past 2 months the changes to the sandwich have not been ideal unfortunately. What was once a thick crispy delicious piece of chicken has regressed to a thin slice drenched in sauce making the bun soggy before even your first bite.Overall the place is great with many great options but the devolution of my favorite sandwich in Weston has been disappointing.“

This little takeout place had the literal mom and pop in the back. The crust was perfect, just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Salad was fresh. And all in less than 15 minutes. “There was a version of the Lake that had a much different flavor 30 years ago. It was an Italian enclave, with a history that is very much different than the rest of Newton. Nonantum, or "The Lake," was the village with the oldest synagogue. It was right down the street from a Catholic church that, in my opinion, has an interior that has made me cry over the sheer artistic splendor of it.Tradition still plays a large part in this changing neighborhood, and it is finely displayed in this small sub shop on Watertown St. Like the old days, food prices were lower and food portions were a bit larger, and Guiseppe's does not try and overwhelm the customer with grandiose decor or expensive decorations, they are here to make you a sandwich or a salad.My honest recommendation is to go to Guiseppe's, and learn a little about the duality of this wonderful neighborhood. Sample the simpler part of the Lake and remember to leave a nice cash tip, because you're getting a lot of value out of the hard work of the owners!“
“I honestly can’t recommend this place anymore. They have a frequent customer punch card which once completed grants you a free sandwich. I went and redeemed my card and purchased 2 bags of chips and a Diet Coke. When I get to work I check my account and he charged me $11.77. I assume he forgot to give me my free sandwich and go back. He then goes on to tell me that the bags of chips are $2.50 each, he charged me another $2.50 because I asked for hot peppers on my sandwich. He then says the 20oz soda is $4.25… I know he arbitrarily made up these prices on the fly as I was obviously a frequent customer and none of this matches up to my previous purchases. If you don’t want people to get a free sandwich don’t have the card.“
