“This specific location was by far my favorite experience EVER! The staff was smiling from the moment my son and I walked into the building. We were greeted with positive attitudes, and taken care of as if we were the only customers there. Which by the way, the shop filled up immediately during a lunch rush and the vibe stayed 100% perfect. Richard went out of his way to show how easy it is to spread joy! I was super impressed with the fresh food and the joy that my son and I both received while watching this particular staff work! Thank you so much for making our day SUPER!!! “We just moved to the neighborhood and we are obsessed.

The sandwiches are like no other sandwiches. The focaccia is home made. The ingredients are fresh, seasonal and locally sourced. It’s not just a sandwich, it’s sandwich art!

There are some rules, such as no eating inside, but they enhance the experience: Davis Sq. is a delightful place to eat outside.

We have yet to eat every item on the menu, but nothing has disappointed so far. Excellent coffee and kombucha are also on offer.“

“I went about 6 pm and there appeared to be only 2 people working, the manager and another worker. A few other customers came in to order while I was waiting, and the manager was obviously a bit understaffed but so professional, apologizing for the wait to everyone, and helping to get the orders out as quickly as possible. Nice soft roll ,steak NOT chopped to oblivious gravel like other shops. This spot IS the spot for a steak and cheese . I'm gonna go back and try all the ol standards again done right. Kudos. Can't wait to try a simple hit dog. Believe it or not, people screw that up . But according to the reviews I've seen, they're done just right. It's really nice to know that these non pretentecious simply good food places still do exist.“

“I honestly can’t recommend this place anymore. They have a frequent customer punch card which once completed grants you a free sandwich. I went and redeemed my card and purchased 2 bags of chips and a Diet Coke. When I get to work I check my account and he charged me $11.77. I assume he forgot to give me my free sandwich and go back. He then goes on to tell me that the bags of chips are $2.50 each, he charged me another $2.50 because I asked for hot peppers on my sandwich. He then says the 20oz soda is $4.25… I know he arbitrarily made up these prices on the fly as I was obviously a frequent customer and none of this matches up to my previous purchases. If you don’t want people to get a free sandwich don’t have the card.“

“First, this place is run by some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and I’m dead serious. My parents were here for my dad’s surgery and we stopped in for sandwiches that we all loved (and mom is PICKY). We ended up coming every day while dad was in the hospital and Nick and Georgia asked us how he was doing and were so kind that we are all seriously going to miss them. They have great sandwiches, smoothies, ice cream, milkshakes, pasta and salads. My favorites were the salmon sandwich and the Code 10 but everything I tried was delicious, made by a family with love.“

“I love Al's subs. I get the eggplant parm every time. Alas, since opening all these locations, I keep getting the wrong order. Once it was a chicken parmesan, another time it was eggplant and chicken, and today it was a meatball sub. I'm a vegetarian, so every time this happens, I can't even eat it. And, they are so busy, they don't answer their phone, so I can't even get a substitution. So sad.“

“This was one if the best pastrami sandwiches I've had. Normally pastrami I've had from the deli is thinly sliced, this was more like chopped brisket, but had all the flavor of deli pastrami, it was great. If your hungry don't be cheap, get the half pound sandwich. I did light rye, deli mustard but only did 1/3 pound, should have gone half. The 1/4 pound wouldn't be enough for most folks. Great customer service and great simple sandwich.“
