“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

This is a family run business in the heart of Baltimore social life, between Inner Harbor, Harbor East and Fells Point (more to Fells Point side). It is our favorite Indian restaurant in Baltimore by far. My husband and I really enjoy their lunch buffets, they service freshly made food and have a variety of options. The lunch buffet has Indian salads, sometimes vegetable samosas, at least a few different meat entrees, at least a few different vegetable entrees, dessert, and always hot chai tea with sugar options. My husband and I enjoy going to not only eat the food, but also appreciate how friendly and hospitable Amir and his family are. They also have respectful staff, and run a very peaceful operation. We appreciate every visit, and when we leave, we feel like we have gained 5 pounds each (in a good way!). Looking forward to our next visit :) Thank you Mr. Amir and family!“

“I really enjoyed the food I had, starting with the vegetable samosa, and for my meal, I had the lamb shahi korma. I took an order of the butter chicken home with me. I also had the butter naan and a mango lassi with my meal. I really enjoy Indian food and this location is very convenient and close to my home. I will definitely come here again and will have their lunch buffet.“

“These guys make very good food, and they are very eager to please. They have two menus, one with American food like pizza and burgers and fried chicken, and the other with Indian food. Personally I like their non-curry dishes. It is quite spicy and never bland. Tonight I had the chicken thigh dinner which was very soft and spicy. It was fantastic. They also seemed to have invested a good amount of money into this place. Nice quality interior and good parking outside. The owner and the hostess both came to the table personally and asked us about how the food tastes. These people really care.“

Special occasions when the mood is right, we go to the ambassador for that special taste of Indian cuisine. I’ve been going to the ambassador for the last 20 years. “Been here twice, once was years ago pre-pandemic and it was fabulous. We said we should come back here more often but never did… then the pandemic messed everything up and we went travel nursing. Now we’re back in town again… AND ITS STILL AMAZING. I got a jalfrezi, and hubby got tikka masala. The medium felt like a true medium, not whitewashed. Service was lovely. We were one of two couples who dined in, but looks like they have a busy takeout business. So glad they didn’t disappear in the pandemic like so many other places! “While this won’t stop us from ordering their delicious food again, tonight’s experience just wasn’t the same. I ordered the family package with vegetarian Biryani, which included raita, salan, plain rice, naam, and chicken curry. We got our order and it was missing the salan. I called the restaurant and got the weirdest explanation. “It’s a very small container. They make a large container and if it runs out. But it’s just a small container of peanut sauce.” I don’t care what the size of the container is, it’s advertised as a package and I expect everything in the order.“

“Absolutely true to its name. House of India is the place to be if you appreciate authentic Indian cuisine and excellent service. It’s not only having a dinner , it’s having a memorable experience. Loved everything about it. The food is exceptionally great, the service is outstanding. The owners under new management goes above and beyond to make every guests feel welcome. “By far the best food and service in Baltimore! I always come in for the lunch buffet and the food is DELICIOUS! A lot of options and sometimes there is this special desert that is this doughnut drizzled with honey(?) which I love, and always have it with the complimentary Nepalese milk tea. Great options for vegetarians too.“

“This is not a dine-in place, but IS a hidden gem in Pikesville. It's hidden at the button of an apartment complex. As they're Nepalese, they offer some dishes that are not on all Indian menus.

Their delivery is also quick. I tried this place on a whim, and they did not disappoint.

I haven't had any of their American, Chinese, or other fare, however.

“Fairly new to visiting the restaurant however the four (4) times I have dined or had carryout, the staff was welcoming, pleasant, the food was delicious (sidebar: I recommend the cream of crab soup), and the atmosphere was relaxing. My high school class reunion committee even planned our meeting there and was able to plan professionally without a lot of interruptions and A-1 service. I would recommend and do not have any bad reviews! Continue being a staple in the community.“

“I had an issue with my order from GrubHub that unfortunately led to me not receiving it but the manager called me two days later to let me know he was out for a couple days and was so sorry to hear about my troubles. He immediately offered to fix it and sent me the food I had been waiting on free of charge. He really made me feel better about the situation and like he cared. I have never had someone show me that level of concern for my issue. All my friends recommend this place, and I am happy to say that I do as well.“

Best quality and fresh food will be served and it's an open kitchen you can walk around and see pretty clean. We had Masala dosa, theplas, dhokla and undhiyo“
