“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

“I really enjoyed the food I had, starting with the vegetable samosa, and for my meal, I had the lamb shahi korma. I took an order of the butter chicken home with me. I also had the butter naan and a mango lassi with my meal. I really enjoy Indian food and this location is very convenient and close to my home. We had the chicken Vindaloo and the Samosa Chaat and both were also fantastic! “While this won’t stop us from ordering their delicious food again, tonight’s experience just wasn’t the same. I ordered the family package with vegetarian Biryani, which included raita, salan, plain rice, naam, and chicken curry. We got our order and it was missing the salan. I called the restaurant and got the weirdest explanation. “It’s a very small container. They make a large container and if it runs out. But it’s just a small container of peanut sauce.” I don’t care what the size of the container is, it’s advertised as a package and I expect everything in the order.“

“We were heading to NJ from RVA, decided to make a quick stop for some Haleem and Chicken 65 along with Goat Biryani everything was top notch exactly how it should be from an authentic Hyderabadi place.
While returning back we ordered the same items along with Apricot delight and Dilkush everything was phenomenal.

“What a hidden gem this restaurant is, the most outstanding Indian restaurant in Ellicott City. We visited it for dinner along with our out of town guests. Everyone’s meal was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable The restaurant ambiance is comfortable, quiet and visually appealing. We will definitely return again and again.“

I appreciated the attentiveness and how kind of staff were. The lunch buffet had a decent amount of options for vegetarians and other eaters. I don’t know if the items rotate so I can’t say anything for that, but I imagine they would. Thank you for giving me such a good dining experience, I will be back!“

“I’ve been eating food at this place for a few years. The food always tastes amazing especially if you are looking for South Indian style. One of the only places that will serve Pulao as well as a variety of Biryanis. The staff and owner are also very nice and serve the food with a lot of care“

The bread was nice and thick to hold the tasty and well-cooked paneer /chicken along with salad-like filler material. Great portion size, reasonably priced, and the order was ready on time.
