“While this won’t stop us from ordering their delicious food again, tonight’s experience just wasn’t the same. I ordered the family package with vegetarian Biryani, which included raita, salan, plain rice, naam, and chicken curry. We got our order and it was missing the salan. I called the restaurant and got the weirdest explanation. “It’s a very small container. They make a large container and if it runs out. But it’s just a small container of peanut sauce.” I don’t care what the size of the container is, it’s advertised as a package and I expect everything in the order.“

“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

Special occasions when the mood is right, we go to the ambassador for that special taste of Indian cuisine. I’ve been going to the ambassador for the last 20 years. “I really enjoyed the food I had, starting with the vegetable samosa, and for my meal, I had the lamb shahi korma. I took an order of the butter chicken home with me. I also had the butter naan and a mango lassi with my meal. I really enjoy Indian food and this location is very convenient and close to my home. I will definitely come here again and will have their lunch buffet.“

“Been here twice, once was years ago pre-pandemic and it was fabulous. We said we should come back here more often but never did… then the pandemic messed everything up and we went travel nursing. Now we’re back in town again… AND ITS STILL AMAZING. I got a jalfrezi, and hubby got tikka masala. The medium felt like a true medium, not whitewashed. Service was lovely. We were one of two couples who dined in, but looks like they have a busy takeout business. So glad they didn’t disappear in the pandemic like so many other places! Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!“

“The food was absolutely delicious! I come from West Virginia but every time I visit DC I stop by this restaurant at least once! Butter chicken pizza is a fav! Nana is also super tasty! We had the chicken Vindaloo and the Samosa Chaat and both were also fantastic! We were trying to decide between a few different chicken dishes and the server said dont worry i'll bring you the vindaloo and you'll love it! And we did! “These guys make very good food, and they are very eager to please. They have two menus, one with American food like pizza and burgers and fried chicken, and the other with Indian food. Personally I like their non-curry dishes. It is quite spicy and never bland. Tonight I had the chicken thigh dinner which was very soft and spicy. It was fantastic. They also seemed to have invested a good amount of money into this place. Nice quality interior and good parking outside. The owner and the hostess both came to the table personally and asked us about how the food tastes. These people really care.“

“Probably the best Indian restaurant I've been to in Howard County. I dine in and order takeout, while preferring the latter. Being a pure vegetarian, there are many vegetarian options and there's no compromise on the quality. We generally order a vegetarian thali alongside kuttu parotha and a vegetarian appetizer.

Among all the delicacies that I've tried at Sangam, I've loved the Kadai paneer biryani, paneer pepper fry, chilli baby corn, south indian thali, kuttu parotta, malai kofta, navaratan korma to name a few. But the appetizers are really crunchy and tasty.“

“One of the two vegetarian restaurants in Howard County and I am a very frequent visitor. I like the Punjabi Thali, the parathas, noodles with Manchurian (I believe it is their specialty, never ever found this in an Indian restaurant with a Chinese section). Since the restaurant is located inside the deli store of a gas station, it might not be family friendly and hence we order takeout but there are 6-7 tables for a hostel/dorm like dine in option. No doubting of the quality of food. It's very delicious, very comforting and the recipes made upto specifications. Must try for vegetarians. If you are in luck, the chef packs a little extra quantity for Thalis.“

“Recently ordered panini sandwiches (chicken and paneer) for a lunch party and all our guests LOVED them. The bread was nice and thick to hold the tasty and well-cooked paneer /chicken along with salad-like filler material. Great portion size, reasonably priced, and the order was ready on time. Samosas were also very good! Cakes were awesome as well - both black forest and butterscotch. True to their name!“
