“While this won’t stop us from ordering their delicious food again, tonight’s experience just wasn’t the same. I ordered the family package with vegetarian Biryani, which included raita, salan, plain rice, naam, and chicken curry. We got our order and it was missing the salan. I called the restaurant and got the weirdest explanation. “It’s a very small container. They make a large container and if it runs out. But it’s just a small container of peanut sauce.” I don’t care what the size of the container is, it’s advertised as a package and I expect everything in the order.“

“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

I also had the butter naan and a mango lassi with my meal. I really enjoy Indian food and this location is very convenient and close to my home. “Been here twice, once was years ago pre-pandemic and it was fabulous. We said we should come back here more often but never did… then the pandemic messed everything up and we went travel nursing. Now we’re back in town again… AND ITS STILL AMAZING. I got a jalfrezi, and hubby got tikka masala. The medium felt like a true medium, not whitewashed. Service was lovely. “The food was absolutely delicious! I come from West Virginia but every time I visit DC I stop by this restaurant at least once! Butter chicken pizza is a fav! Nana is also super tasty! We had the chicken Vindaloo and the Samosa Chaat and both were also fantastic! We were trying to decide between a few different chicken dishes and the server said dont worry i'll bring you the vindaloo and you'll love it! And we did! I will keep coming here every time I visit DC!“

“Verandah Kitchen is easily one of my favorite spots and a place I find myself coming back to often. The food has amazing flavor with just the perfect amount of spice—every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and consistently delicious. I am gluten free- there are many options for me!

“These guys make very good food, and they are very eager to please. They have two menus, one with American food like pizza and burgers and fried chicken, and the other with Indian food. Personally I like their non-curry dishes. It is quite spicy and never bland. Tonight I had the chicken thigh dinner which was very soft and spicy. It was fantastic. They also seemed to have invested a good amount of money into this place. Nice quality interior and good parking outside. The owner and the hostess both came to the table personally and asked us about how the food tastes. These people really care.“

“We were heading to NJ from RVA, decided to make a quick stop for some Haleem and Chicken 65 along with Goat Biryani everything was top notch exactly how it should be from an authentic Hyderabadi place.
While returning back we ordered the same items along with Apricot delight and Dilkush everything was phenomenal.
Unfortunately don’t have any photos since we were too busy eating 😂
