It's a great place with great people that work there. It is one of the best managed businesses in Montgomery County.“

“This is a super small, unassuming little shop, but it is an absolute must-try. The bagels are incredibly delicious, chewy, and fresh. They have a brilliant selection of both bagel varieties and spreads/toppings, meaning there is something to satisfy every craving.

The only crucial thing to keep in mind is that they do not accept card payments. It is strictly a cash-only establishment, so make sure to come prepared. If you are looking for a top-tier, no-nonsense bagel in D.C., I highly recommend checking this place out!“

“I have been coming to Brooklyn Bagel weekly for over a decade. They have hands down the best bagels in the region, and also the best employees (I call them my bagel heroes)! Even with the recent growth of other bagel spots in the region, Brooklyn Bagel remains the best. Absolutely worth the trip! Be prepared for lines on the weekend and bring cash to pay and tip to make the experience better for everyone.“

“We came for a weekday brunch. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a spinach omelet. The delicious sandwich was on a beautiful grilled bagel, and the egg portion was generous as was the cheese. The omelet was stuffed full of saites spinach, mushrooms, sausage and cheese. It was served with homemade potatoes and toast. We finished the meal with a generous fruit cup that was also delicious. The only thing that would have made it better was eating on a real plate and not paper. However, the food is totally worth making this a regular stop!“

“Parking here is very tight. I suggest backing into a space if possible for easy exit. Chip bags are very small for their price ($2.29). Place was clean with friendly staff. There are barstool height tables, but no seating. Basically, just somewhere to lean while you're waiting for your order. Be mindful when ordering the bagel your way. Price escalates quickly with each option. I paid about $10.38 for an everything bagel with sausage, egg and cheese. Overall, I would recommend.“

Anytime I’m craving a bagel, this is where I go. The spreads are great, and the menu is well-curated—plenty of solid options without feeling overwhelming.

“This is a great cafe! It is very affordable and the fare is really good-- simple ingredients, very thoughtfully combined. For example, you can get an avocado toast for $6.50 that tastes very homely, fresh and natural. Similarly, the chicken pesto bagel is great. The bread is always toasted to a perfect extent. The waitstaff is also very nice, Diego in particular. There is also a high bar with 8 seats facing the window which is wonderful to work at because you get a lot of natural light and a view of the street-- at least one of these seats is usually available for working.“

“I was shocked at how good and real these NY-style bagels are. If you’ve had a fresh NY bagel, there is a distinct consistency of the outside and inside of the bagel that makes it enjoyable to eat untoasted. This place more than scratches the itch for a craving for NY bagels. I find myself just having a meal or a single bagel and cream cheese, taking a bite and applying a small amount of spread to savor each bite.“

“Best bagels in northern Virginia by far. The smoked salmon, the everything bagels, the vegetarian sandwich are the highlights for me. They’re right on the edge of what I’d be willing to pay for bagels but the quality is very good. The consistency has also improved since they moved from the food truck. Coffee isn’t that great at least for me.“

“We’ve been regular customers since well before Neal’s moved to its current location. The bagels are delicious (more New Yorky and flavorful than others in the area) and always fresh. “Love this place. Walk in the door and immediately to the right is Lawd Shawarma! A wonderfully warm meal of fish & eggs with vegan bread and Christmas-spiced Sorrel / Hibiscus drink. “Wow what a great find. I came out this way to go to a nearby doctors appointment and stumbled upon this hidden gem. They have a great selection of bagels 🥯, salads and sandwiches. The raspberry-chocolate coffee and bagel were both perfect. Some places don’t get coffee and bagels right but this place does!!!!Lol I’ll make sure to see my doctor again here in McLean, VA instead of MD just so I can stop by this deli. To the owner: My only suggestion is to carry Scones. Also the ladies working behind the counter were very friendly and professional .“
