“One of the best bakeries I been in Silver Spring. It was my first time going there and I was getting a cake for my dad’s birthday day. I picked a strawberry chocolate cake which was delicious, the cake was moist the strawberries were fresh and the chocolate flavor wasn’t overbearing. I also got a bacon eggs and cheese which was also very good. The workers were very nice and even gave me a happy birthday cake topper.“

“I have been coming to Brooklyn Bagel weekly for over a decade. They have hands down the best bagels in the region, and also the best employees (I call them my bagel heroes)! Even with the recent growth of other bagel spots in the region, Brooklyn Bagel remains the best. Absolutely worth the trip! Be prepared for lines on the weekend and bring cash to pay and tip to make the experience better for everyone.“

“The bagels here are very good and the service is so quick! There’s a large variety and they sell them by the bag as well. The ladies who work here are also very nice. The coffee is pretty good.

However, I’ve noticed that the person who handles the cash (it’s a cash-only store) is also the one who grabs the bagels. While she wears gloves, she uses the same pair for both touching cash and bagels. This doesn’t seem hygienic to me, especially since there are usually many customers. I thought it was a one-off thing, but recently I’ve noticed it happening every time I order a bagel. This alone has me questioning if I’ll keep going here.“
