“Well I get 3 shrimp and chicken lomeing and it was delicious. And 3 wins with French fries which it was super.
I did try hunan chicken before, but it doesn't pass my taste.
So service was fast less than what ever they said it will be. So I will keep getting different choice and I'll let you know“

“Growing up in the area this place has been a treat for our family. Good memories here. Years ago, pre-pandemmy when the dining room was open, I used to go here with my pops on occasion. If you get your chicken hot and fresh it's CRISPY and nothing has ever come close to how good it is. The lady who helps you when you pick up a carry-out order is so sweet. Please tip her!! If you like General Tsos but want to branch out, get the sesame beef. It's my favorite dish. Panda Xpress' crab rangoons do not stand a CHANCE against Golden Star's cheese wontons. Thanks for being a staple of my childhood <3 I'm moving out soon and will miss you!“

Their wonton soup, crab rangoon, and General Tso's chicken are my absolute favorites, and they never disappoint. Every time, the food is fresh, hot, and delicious!
I’ll admit, I’m usually a little hesitant about places on Richmond Highway, but this spot is truly a hidden gem. The inside is small and cozy, though it’s a bit dim for my taste. “Amongst the best egg rolls in the area. While the General Tso's Chicken was good, there was nothing "hot and spicy" about it. Either I'll refry it with some red pepper flakes or try the kung pao chicken next.

Vegetarian options: My wife really likes the diet tofu and broccoli with the sauce on the side.

Parking: It's in Hollin Hill strip mall, so plenty of parking.“

“The tasty food is one thing BUT one thing which stood out for me is their great customer service. Jane and her other colleague were all smiles, kind and attentive. You can tell they love the job that they do. This is the kind of service you wanna comeback for more. I also appreciate that they're wearing a transparent mouth shield as it looks more neat than a regular mask. They offer free soup and coffee on top of your regular order which is great since it's winter around this time. I hope they can be consistent with their business approach and I wish their new store a success!“

“This is the best Chinese takeout we have found in the area - we drive here from Waldorf to pick it up because it really is better than any other place we have found. The only one that comes close is Hunan Star in La Plata but this is still preferred. My husband loves their General Tso chicken and I'm a big fan of their Egg Foo Young. Portion sizes are large so we always have leftovers! Worth the drive to Manokeek!“

“Carry out dinner , tasty fresh ginger beef, sweet and dour chicken, orange beef, and chicken satay have graced our orders. Always so tasty! :) Agree takes longer than told, and that crispy orange beef is delicious but not necessarily crispy meat, but golly it is so good! Atmosphere fine for take-out. Many yummy dishes. Have not tried the burgers or Thai dishes, I think included so that nearby businesses have great options. Have been there three times, all different entrees and appetizers. . :) 😋“

“Crispy shredded beef and Kung Pao chicken were tasty. General Tso's shrimp had so much breading on it that I had a hard time finding the shrimp. I would not recommend this dish unless you mostly want fried bread. I asked for medium spicy and the dishes were mild. The portions were very generous as we have left overs. The delivery from the time I ordered took a total of 55 minutes. I like supporting local business and will try other dishes from them.“

“Me and my boyfriend come to this Chinese place every time we are in Maryland. We have been nothing but please when it comes to there food and service prices are fine. I guess cuz we live in Virginia prices are a lot higher out there than they are in Maryland so their prices is okay with us. We normally just order the usual 6 piece fried chicken fried hard with your fried or shrimp fried rice and their cheese steak egg rolls are the best can't go wrong.“

I don’t get all these bad reviews with one stars it must’ve been the way they ordered or approached the hard working lady taking their order she took my order as Normally and fast, food was hot and tasted very authentic unlike other places that seem like they microwave their dishes !! Reading past reviews I assume her partner or family member was the one making the food and he did great !!! Definitely will be back !!! Respect and be respected !! I didn’t tip and regret it.

“Very fresh ingredients and home cook taste. My mom taught me how to cook Chinese food Hong Kong style and the chefs here are just as good. They always use fresh veggies and meats. I am always happy with everything I order here.
My FAVORITE:
1. Hot and Sour soup; it is a vegetarian style hot and sour soup with clean ingredients made to order. Each soup is freshly made not like some other places when they have a big pot of day old hot and sour who knows what's in it type.
2. The Singapore style Mai Fun with shrimp and chicken is also very good even though a little moist for my tastes but the fresh ingredients wins my tummy over.
3. French fries- it is greasy and crunchy as French fries should be.

This place has the ambience of a cheap place where college students might pick-up meals in a provincial Chinese city, blended with the garden variety American Chinese carryout place. In other words, it has an authentic grunginess. For what it purports to be, the food is unusually good, even undersold by the menu descriptions. It is apparent that the people cooking here know what they are doing. China One stands out among the Chinese carryout places I have tried in NOVA because it uses fresh ingredients, prepared by people who know how not to overcook them with sauces that seem intentional rather than generic and gross.“
