“We were in a Rush to find something to eat at the end of a very long day, and found this cute little restaurant that was said to have good gluten-free options. We were lucky to get seated pretty quickly on a Monday evening, and the waiter took great care of us. I had a nice gluten-free lamb bolognese, and the others at our table really enjoyed their dishes as well. The waiter was even able to bring out gluten-free bread for me. Disappointed a little with the crust on the whole pie... it wasn't crispy at all... a little chewy. Tasted like two completely different pizza spots. Service was friendly. “My son and I ate at Bacio today and let me say we had a wonderful experience. We sat on the cute patio and it was so peaceful and quiet, you wouldn’t know you were in the middle of DC. The server was friendly and attentive. I liked the alcohol selection, and had wine. We enjoyed mozzarella sticks which we could tell were made in house and not just reheated from frozen like in most other places. The pizza my son got was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed my arugula salad with shrimp. I wish they were a little more cooked but that is a personal preference. The desserts very very good too, we really liked the limoncello raspberry cake. “Where to begin? The entire dining experience was without peer! The dining environment was reminiscent of corner cafes in Paris or off the beaten track Trattorias of Rome. The decor is established modern and pleasing. The various art works in the place are eclectic, eccentric, and interesting. The musical selection was subtle and understated and complimented the environment without distracting in any way from the experience. The service was also peerless. Observant, attentive, and, most important to me, nearly transparent! No hovering! Just supremely competent! Finally and most importantly, the food.. stunning! The three of us covered most of the terrestrial options and all were outstanding. My son's chicken dish was, as he put it, at that perfect moisture level- neither overcooked and dry nor undercooked and runny! The flavor was also top drawer. The filet exceeded the expectations I reserve for dedicated steakhouses. A subtle seasoning and cooked to perfection. Rare for us. The lamb chops were among the best I've eaten in decades! All dishes were served attractively plated and complimented with sides that were truly complimentary to the main. Finally, the dessert selections were both outstanding. The Mousse was dark and dense- I know some prefer fluffy mousse but I'm not one of those. The tiramisu was amazing and this is coming from a guy who has NEVER had a tiramisu he liked! Again, the subtlety was the key! A perfect combination of complimentary flavors. Oh! And the espresso reminded us also of Italian Espresso from the streets of Rome. We have absolutely nothing to complain about! In short, the best possible meal I could have imagined for a mid spring evening.“

The Teamster reminded me of the subs I used to get at the Italian Store in Arlington. Wonderful. Eat it for lunch. The Roast Beef I will save for dinner. The large pickle was perfect. I will return. They understand the menus and communicate effectively and succinctly. They were perfectly attentive, we never felt ignored or as if they were intrusive.There are no slouches on the menu. Everything I tried would be the star at most other restaurants, the two of us picked different items so I was able to try quite a few things. There were no misses. The menu changes regularly so what was being served when I visited won't be served when you visit. You should inquire about the menu if you have dietary restrictions.It's not a cheap meal but if you're going to spend the money you should get the wine pairing. It compliments the meal perfectly.This was one of the best meals I've had and I plan on visiting again.Parking: It's street parking in DuPont Circle so parking is next to impossible.
