“At first we were a little surprised to be eating in a Days Inn -- and Al-Madani is unassuming atmospherically. However, the food was flavorful and delicious (aloo palak, lamb tikka kabobs, garlic naan), and the staff were wonderfully kind and caring. “I drove by and saw a line so I looked it up and saw a 4.9 rating. The truth is this is a 5.0 and it didn’t disappoint. I had a jerk plate and a lamb pita. It was sooooooooooooooo good. I will definitely be back. I didn’t take a picture of the food because i ate it right away lol. The portion for the platter was so big my husband and I each ate some and then we shared the pita lamb. “Honestly, we weren’t expecting much here. It feels more like a club café next to the basketball gallery than a restaurant. You know, the kind of spot where students grab a quick bite after a game. So yeah, I was ready for bland food or maybe even leftovers.

But wow, we were so wrong. Everything is halal, the lady at the front not only took our order but made the sandwich right in front of us. The fries? Insanely good. The sandwich? One of the best we’ve had. Before leaving, she even surprised us with her special Baklava, which was the sweetest touch.

Sure, the seating could use some love and a good clean-up. But honestly, I’d still give this place 5 stars, just for her warmth and kindness. She looked so happy when we told her how much we loved the food, and that made the whole experience even better.“

“The owner is phenomenal and super kind and charismatic. He makes the place feel like home and the employees are all sweet and smiles. The food is great and they have added lots of options. The nashville chicken sandwhich is my favorite thing here but if you want something healthy I recommend the chicken over rice. 10/10 reccomend spot to check out especially if you’re hungry late at night!“

“It's about time I gave you guys credit! I love coming here for a late lunch after class. Delicious food, great value, always fresh, and the portions are generous. It's one of the top food places in Silver Spring without a doubt. I love this style of food, it's so good. It used to be hard to find this type of halal food in the area before they opened. If you want some classic New York style cart food they got it. 100000/10 now I'm craving it, lol. ALSO they serve you fast which is a bonus when you're really hungry“

“This place is delicious. We only had a few days in DC, so we had to be selective where we ate. I don't think I've ever had straight Afgan food, but this place didn't disappoint. About 1/3 of their menu is vegan. They were very accommodating for vegan food, they made modifications even without asking.

If you are vegan, don't miss this gem if you are in DC.“

“I tried the Vegan Halal Bowl and it was absolutely delicious! The bowl came with rice and a fresh salad. I added french fries and topped everything with their white sauce—which was like a ranch, and honestly, I give that a 10/10 on its own. It brought the whole dish together and made it super flavorful.

The rice had a brown rice texture, and the salad was fresh and crisp with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers. I also had a side of pita bread or naan, which was soft, warm, and perfect with the bowl.
The customer service was excellent—everyone was friendly and welcoming.

As a first-time visitor, I really appreciated the recommendations. Even the cook came out to suggest some items from the menu, which made the experience feel personal and genuine.

“Best way to describe it is as an Indian inspired - chipotle, noodles &co, poke place, etc. choose one or more proteins, carbs, veggies, toppings, sauces.

It allows for a variety of combinations that one should find very satisfying. The portion size was pretty good and the value was also very good but consider the high rent location you are in and take that into account. Restaurants in that general area by the convention center are “expense account joints”. I was glad they were there when I just wanted to take my time and eat something satisfying in a quiet place.“

We came in and there were 6 people behind the counter, not one person greeted us or acknowledged our presence. They were working on a big to go order at the time, but it seemed like no one was really delegating and attending to people that were actually standing in line. Finally, a guy came over to take our order and as I was asking for what I wanted, he was exasperated from the very beginning. He quickly slopped the food in the bowl, no care at all. When I asked for my sauces on the side, he rolled his eyes and then I asked for pickled onions and he grabbed my bowl and begrudgingly put them on. He did the same with my sisters orders. He was incredibly rude and if you don't want to serve people, don't work in a service job. I did like the food though! Very tasty.“

“I like their food, but they should make drinks mandatory with orders. Sometimes, for some reason, even if you select a drink, it doesn't appear on the order. And when you ask for it, they don't want to give it to you. And even when they have given it to me, they do it as if it were a courtesy. It's included in the price. If you explicitly say you don't want a drink, that's fine, but it's not always like that. And some employees should be more courteous in these situations.“

I was not familiarized with the menu and wasn’t sure what to order. However, Ana was extremely knowledgeable, kind & humble. “Really cool store that has a lot of Senegalese items around for sale. The food was perfect it was my first time having west African food and I really liked how Smokey and barbequey the food was. I got the large lamb platter and they really packed on the rice and lamb, it was really delicious and the onions were particularly good. The lamb wasn’t gamey at all and had a great taste and chew. The turn around time on the order was quick as well and very friendly staff.“

“Visiting DC for the weekend and had to look for some halal Chinese food. As a houstonian, I’m picky about my food choices. Oh my god I’m so happy to have tried New Dynasty. Mom and pop shop run by a husband and wife. They’ve been open for 30+ years. Such a sweet couple and so kind. The food came quickly and it was all so delicious. It was so good I had to DoorDash it the next day. Definitely will be back if I’m back in the city!“

“Update: since this experience I haven't had one nearly as bad as this the pizza is good and the cheesecake is delicious glad I tried it again after the bad first impression. ?
I know it's the Superbowl but I really can't accept this experience. Driver was amazing even went back to the restaurant to get an extra pizza. Reason why because our order took over 2 hours to get here and unfortunately they didn't even bring us 1 of the pizza we actually ordered. We got 2 random meat covered pizzas and all we ordered was extra cheese & chicken. The extra pizza was nice but I'm still not happy with getting 2 pizzas I can't eat. Wings are good but this was a terrible experience. Glad I ordered them since it was the only think I could eat from a $50 order. I think what we originally ordered would've been good and I could've eaten this one if not for the other meats. Ordered through slice.“
