“I have been going to Tom and Rays since the old location. What makes them stand out is the cost conscience menu, fresh tasting food, and a staff mostly local high school kids that are professional with can do attitude. Right now I’m raving about something as simple as stewed tomatoes as a complementary side dish. Their breakfast foods including creamed chipped beef fresh. Their lunch and dinner foods bring you back, especially the open faced beef sandwich with mash potatoes and gravy, to a simpler time. Check out their menu and ask them about their pies.“

There are two Ledo’s in my hometown and while dough, sauce and cheese is always a winning combo, the taste at these two Ledo’s is consistently inconsistent. I overheard that the Damascus Ledo’s is the best one and taste just like the original in College Park. Hands-down, I gotta say it does. It was worth the 20 minute drive. Today, I used my reward for extra protein, and the staff member, William was so kind and asked if I wanted to try the Panko Chicken before adding it. No one had ever offered me that before! The Ravini Politiko, coconut cake was the best I ever ate! The Thalissina, seafood pasta had plenty of seafood in it and delicious. Even the cappaccino was delicious, very smooth, no bitterness and taste great with dessert! The server, Baris, was attentive, friendly and did a great job taking care of us. “I discovered Sasuns Cafe a few weeks ago and I have come back each time I’ve been in the area. Can’t speak to the rest of the menu yet but the Zattar Jalapeno & Tomato flatbread is OUTSTANDING. I’m not sure you can find a better option for less than $10 in the county. The Steak and Cheese is perfectly balanced with seasoning and crisp vegetables, combined with a with a fresh roll making for a great bite. Try either of these items, you won’t regret it. I have not found any burger yet that is close to comparison!! My husband's family has made this a regular stop for sandwiches over several decades and generations. My father in law (nearby farmer/owner of Greenstone Custom Farming) has eaten there for several decades along with feeding his crew from this hidden gem, this has been a favorite of my husband's since he was old enough to eat there, and now it is a favorite place for our children to eat with grandpa. The store is small and with limited seating, it would be best to order the food to go or if you are eating alone you can sit at the counter and watch your food be prepared. Mookie and Blue are a big part of what makes this place so special. They always greet us with a smile, remember us and our usual order, and make us feel completely comfortable. We don’t have to think about much we just sit down, relax, enjoy our meal, and feel at home.

Over lunch, my wife and I usually start talking about our weekend maybe taking a drive, doing some sightseeing, finding a nice coffee shop, or simply enjoying some quiet time together.

Somehow, our weekend often begins right here.

Of course we love the food, but what keeps us coming back is the warmth, familiarity, and kindness. Sometimes a favorite restaurant becomes more than a place to eat it becomes part of your life and your memories.
