The service is always excellent and tonight we went for the birthday of my friend that is town from Texas and she absolutely loved the food and had a wonderful time as did I!“

“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

“Small cafe, hidden away in a generic strip mall, but serving delicious Indian food with a fresh homemade taste. Probably the best garlic naan I've ever had! So flavorful. Excellent samosas too; not dry, as they sometimes are at other places. The chicken jalfrezi was a hit! Washed it all down with a soothing cup of masala chai. Friendly and welcoming service too. A great experience all round! Go pay them a visit! You won't be disappointed.“

“These guys make very good food, and they are very eager to please. They have two menus, one with American food like pizza and burgers and fried chicken, and the other with Indian food. Personally I like their non-curry dishes. It is quite spicy and never bland. Tonight I had the chicken thigh dinner which was very soft and spicy. It was fantastic. They also seemed to have invested a good amount of money into this place. Nice quality interior and good parking outside. The owner and the hostess both came to the table personally and asked us about how the food tastes. These people really care.“

“I really enjoyed the food I had, starting with the vegetable samosa, and for my meal, I had the lamb shahi korma. I took an order of the butter chicken home with me. I also had the butter naan and a mango lassi with my meal. I really enjoy Indian food and this location is very convenient and close to my home. I will definitely come here again and will have their lunch buffet.“

“While this won’t stop us from ordering their delicious food again, tonight’s experience just wasn’t the same. I ordered the family package with vegetarian Biryani, which included raita, salan, plain rice, naam, and chicken curry. We got our order and it was missing the salan. I called the restaurant and got the weirdest explanation. “It’s a very small container. They make a large container and if it runs out. But it’s just a small container of peanut sauce.” I don’t care what the size of the container is, it’s advertised as a package and I expect everything in the order.“

“The food was so delicious it never occured to me to take a photo. Once I started with the masala chai, I couldn’t stop filling my mouth. Everything is delectable. I would absolutely recommend this place. I don’t even live in Maryland but I’ve committed to return in a week. My friend suggested this place as authentic and what I ordered, the chicken masala, was perfect, I was breaking my conversation to tell my friend how fortunate we were and that life is for the living. When the moments hits all the senses- oof! Well, my friend ordered the chicken vindaloo, mango lassi and garlic naan. He has enjoyed the food service before and it maintained its consistent standard. Also, we came first thing on Thursday.“

“We rece8ved our food through Door Dash so I couldn't rate the atmosphere. The food was packed very well in containers and wrapped with foil. Well done no leaks and the food, while not pipping hot, was hot enough not to require reheating. Quality was exceptional. Everything tasted fresh and well spiced we ordered Chicken Tikka, Lamb Vindaloo, Papri Chaat, Garlic Naan. We started with the Papri Chaat. Wonderful combination of wheat chips, chickpeas, yogurt, spiced up with just a little heat. Exceptional. I could have eaten only that. The chicken tikka was also well prepared. Tender and perfect with the level of medium heat my wife likes. Lamb Vindaloo was a bit more tomatoee than I'm used to, but I thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely order it again. The naan was superb - soft chewy with nice balance of garlic and butter. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Basamati.“
