“Our first visit to Café Los Sueños was truly memorable. After reading the café’s glowing reviews, my husband and I decided to visit as a way to unplug from technology, relax, and enjoy our favorite books; and we couldn’t have made a better choice.
From the moment we walked in, Carlos, the owner, greeted us with such warmth and kindness. We had a friendly conversation with him both at the beginning and throughout our time there, which added such a personal touch to the experience. We ordered a Horchata latte with oat milk and an Ethiopian coffee and both were absolutely delicious.
But what truly stood out was the atmosphere that Carlos and his wife have created. It’s more than just a coffee shop… it’s a beautiful little community. Almost everyone who walked in seemed to know Carlos, and there were heartfelt, lively conversations happening all around. It felt like a safe space to share and connect; a rare and precious thing in today’s fast-paced world.
We will absolutely be returning to Café Los Sueños to disconnect and recharge. And if you visit, be sure to ask Carlos about the story behind the T-shirt framed on the wall. ;)
The story is just as heartwarming as Carlos himself, who makes every single person feel welcome.“

“1:39 4 ..ll 5G§ 83 < Reviews Koba Café First coffee shop of 2023! Koba is a cozy shop on the corner. The young lady at the counter was friendly. She was familiar with the two customers in front of me. It definitely had a neighborhood friendly vibe. The shop was busy. Most of the tables on the first floor were taken up when I was there. Be sure to take a stroll up the stairs. At the top of the stairs was an adorable little spot for two people to sit and chat. The second floor has a great little area to sit and ready or study. The top floor was full of light. I ordered my usual cortado. It was a solid drink. The cortado wasn't bad but it also wasn't anything spectacular to write home about.“
“Still in soft opening until 1/26 but the pastries are delicious, attentive baristas, affordable price points and has a very cozy vibe for coffee dates :)“

“The best coffee in the city so far. The cafe itself is small but I love the decorations! The staff is super welcoming and have great service. When I get coffee it always comes out perfect. I've been a little disappointed by the burnt beans some of the other cafes in the city give you but this place has it down to a science! I cannot recommend enough :) Thank you for being the best in the city 🫶🏼“

“This is an amazing space. I felt so close to the coffee process. Their cookies are homemade and delicious. The coffee is smooth while offering a rich flavor. They also share the space with Sophomore Coffee who also roasts beans there.“

“Great spot, great menu options, knowledgeable staff. I happened to be walking past and was in a mood for coffee. This place hit the spot, had a variety of food options, along with non caffeinated drinks. Plenty of space to work or hang out. No GF Bagels/Bread but they have jerky, bars etc available.“

“Karen is an amazing baker. She saved the day after we were let down for our wedding cake. She delivered a beautiful 3 tiered cake. The flavours were a delicious lemon with lemon curd, vanilla and raspberry and chocolate biscuit cake. All our guests were raving about it. Couldn't recommend her enough 😊💕“

“I wasn’t disappointed in the pizza - it was very good, but with this being my first time ordering from there, I was disappointed that the pizza wasn’t hot. You can’t call in to order and have to order online. It tells you a pickup time. We arrived exactly at the pickup time and the pizza was warm but not hot. The app doesn’t seem to properly track the order, as it said the order was not yet even being prepared when we tried to track it (pizza was ready). I’m not sure if I’ll go back for this reason.“

“We enjoyed our tea and sandwiches, but unfortunately they were out of the vegan mayo (I’m allergic to raw eggs). When it came to the scones we were deeply disappointed! They were dry and crunchy! When I brought them back they apologized and said they would make fresh ones. We sat down and chatted enjoying our teas. When we realized it had gone a long time, I went back to the counter and asked. They looked sheepishly as they realize they forgot them in the oven and they were even crunchier. So they promised they would make a new batch, a THIRD batch for us. When they finally arrived. They were hot a little bit crunchy, but the texture was very strange. It was not like any other scones I’ve ever had before. I have been to Emma‘s before, I’ve been to other tea room, I have had scones in Europe, I have made scones myself, but these were strange… we figured that these had been baked in an air fryer because the texture was so strange. So the scones were big let down, especially since we had to pay separately for the clotted cream and the jam that was an almost another $12 just for that. I will never have scones here again.“

“This spot has been on my list for a while! Stopped in and chatted with the owner for a while and learned about the space. Enjoyed my coffee — on the strong side (my favorite!) and found out about their stand at the Mt. Washington Farmer’s Market. I’ll be back!“

“Outstanding food and great service. The Squirrel coffee is about as good as it gets. I see all these one star reviews and shake my head. Just because you have a not so perfect interaction with one employee the establishment does NOT deserve a 1 start review. That’s not how reviews work. Especially when you too are a small business owner. I’ll head over to review that business owners location next and maybe use the same 1 or 5 stars only philosophy. Let’s hope your business is flawless or you will also get 1 star.“

“We were a large group that came in from out of state for the Goya tournament held at St Nicholas. The food was delicious, authentic Greek, and the portions were huge. We are thankful to the owners who accommodated our large group. If you want a cozy Greek restaurant with great Greek food you definitely want to try this place out! I got the pork souvlaki platter and the tirokeftedes- Καλή όρεξη“

“Very swanky coffee and tea shop. The instrumental music and hip patrons made the vibes. I ordered the classico vegano with vegan sausage on ciabatta and a matcha oat latte. The matcha oat latte had just enough sweetener (you have to ask for it). The classico vegano was good as well. The staff was very delightful and pleasant. They knew their customers and although they had a rush they handled it with ease and remained calm and pleasant. The price was reasonable for what I received and to have the opportunity to dine-in. Overall, this is a great place to visit alone or couples for a nice cup of java or tea.“

“When we lived in Maryland I bought all of our coffee from High Grounds. I have now moved to Georgia and wouldn't consider changing my coffee source. The main reason that one would go to a coffee roaster for the 2nd, 3rd or 99th time would be for the quality of the coffee, and any one who would rate High Grounds less than 5 star“

“This is an absolutely delightful place. It has indoor and outdoor seating with a very cozy atmosphere. The food was very good and the service very pleasant. The buttermilk biscuits sound simple, but they’re a delicious and filling option if you’re looking for something that’s not too sweet. The neighborhood (36th St) offers a lot of interesting places to check out, too.“

Parking: We lucked into some free street parking, but would not anticipate that happening consistently.“

“Oh boy, let me tell you about the pre-game magic we experienced at Johnny's! With a high school state championship soccer game at Loyola on our agenda, my friend, her daughter, and I were on the hunt for the perfect spot to fuel up before the excitement. And boy, did we hit the jackpot with Johnny's! Walking into Johnny's was like finding a hidden gem in a treasure map. The cozy vibes wrapped around us like a warm blanket on a chilly Sunday—it was just what we needed! We settled ourselves at the bar, eager for some drinks and snacks, and that’s where the real fun began. Our bartender was nothing short of a beverage maestro! I ordered a cortado that was so perfectly crafted I nearly swooned. Seriously, it should have been on the cover of a coffee magazine! And let me tell you about their wine list—it’s like a unique art piece. I picked a Pinot Noir to accompany my house-made Old Bay chips, and it was such a delightful pairing that I felt like a sophisticated sommelier for a moment. Now, my bourbon-loving friend was over the moon to discover that Johnny's stocked his all-time favorite brand, FEW. After indulging in wine and coffee that could make any day brighter, we just had to cap off our relaxed Sunday with a round of bourbon. Because what’s a pre-game without a little celebratory sip, right? My friend and her daughter were enjoying their vanilla latte and mocha to the fullest—let’s just say the smiles on their faces were positively radiant! And the cookies? Oh my goodness! The gingerbread and peanut butter cookies were instant crowd-pleasers. I’m pretty sure I’d fight a bear for another bite! Now, here’s the kicker: my friend might live in sunny Florida, but I’m ready to brave the Washington Beltway traffic any time just to return to Johnny's. If they nail snacks and drinks this well before a soccer game, I can't even imagine what kind of culinary genius they have up their sleeves! So, Johnny's, you’ve stolen my heart (and my taste buds)—I’m already counting down the days until my next visit!“

“It's a drive through, and the food is exactly what you would expect for that. Nonetheless, I would say this particular drive through is a shade above the usual. The staff is truly terrific. They work harder than anyone I have ever encountered. Sometimes they get an order wrong. It happens. They are always gracious about correcting it. Food service is a thankless industry, and customers can be horrible. I have seen customers treat staff at this location poorly. They have always been polite and professional, even when I was on the verge of punching my fellow consumer for being an absolute disgrace of a human. The facility is unfailingly clean. Despite it being a very busy location, they manage to move the line quickly, even during peak hours. Parking is scarce, but it's not really meant to be a walk in location. Sometimes the traffic flow is a bit congested, but that is a function of the streetbeing very busy and customers driving in a very foolish manner.“
