“I really enjoyed the food I had, starting with the vegetable samosa, and for my meal, I had the lamb shahi korma. I took an order of the butter chicken home with me. I also had the butter naan and a mango lassi with my meal. I really enjoy Indian food and this location is very convenient and close to my home. I will definitely come here again and will have their lunch buffet.“

“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

“🥰 MR. AMIR and his family are absolutely lovely people. This is a family run business in the heart of Baltimore social life, between Inner Harbor, Harbor East and Fells Point (more to Fells Point side). It is our favorite Indian restaurant in Baltimore by far. My husband and I really enjoy their lunch buffets, they service freshly made food and have a variety of options. The lunch buffet has Indian salads, sometimes vegetable samosas, at least a few different meat entrees, at least a few different vegetable entrees, dessert, and always hot chai tea with sugar options. My husband and I enjoy going to not only eat the food, but also appreciate how friendly and hospitable Amir and his family are. They also have respectful staff, and run a very peaceful operation. We appreciate every visit, and when we leave, we feel like we have gained 5 pounds each (in a good way!). Looking forward to our next visit :) Thank you Mr. Amir and family!“

“These guys make very good food, and they are very eager to please. They have two menus, one with American food like pizza and burgers and fried chicken, and the other with Indian food. Personally I like their non-curry dishes. It is quite spicy and never bland. Tonight I had the chicken thigh dinner which was very soft and spicy. It was fantastic. They also seemed to have invested a good amount of money into this place. Nice quality interior and good parking outside. The owner and the hostess both came to the table personally and asked us about how the food tastes. These people really care.“

“I usually don’t eat Indian food, too spicy, but the ambassador makes the food just perfect for my taste. Special occasions when the mood is right, we go to the ambassador for that special taste of Indian cuisine. I’ve been going to the ambassador for the last 20 years. Today I drove 28 miles from home just to enjoy dinner at this great restaurant. Thank you for the good food and good service.“

“Best Indian food we had in Baltimore out of many that we tried. A little bit on an expensive side but worth it in my opinion. Staff is friendly and ambience is nice and quiet. Was surprised to see very less number of reviews on this restaurant and therefore was apprehensive to visit at first but totally loved the food.“

“Been here twice, once was years ago pre-pandemic and it was fabulous. We said we should come back here more often but never did… then the pandemic messed everything up and we went travel nursing. Now we’re back in town again… AND ITS STILL AMAZING. I got a jalfrezi, and hubby got tikka masala. The medium felt like a true medium, not whitewashed. Service was lovely. We were one of two couples who dined in, but looks like they have a busy takeout business. So glad they didn’t disappear in the pandemic like so many other places! “Best Indian restaurant and service !!“

“Service and food slowly deteriorating as expected. We have been to the restaurant around 12-15 times since they opened. Initial visits were good but lately we have seen steady decline in their service.
In our last visit a male employee who seemed to be the manager/owner took our order and completely ignored the details. e.g. Asked for chillis in the veg uttapam and a soft mysore masala dosa with masala on the side. We have ordered this many times in the past and it arrived as ordered until this time. Chillis missing in the Uttapam and dosa was crunchy with masala inside. It is not a big deal but their attention to detail in listening to the customer seems to be vanishing as they have become popular in the area. I wish another good dosa place opens in the area so the quality remains in check. Another observation is that they are now skimping on the quantity of some chutneys as you can see in the picture. Food taste has been consistent over all.“

“While this won’t stop us from ordering their delicious food again, tonight’s experience just wasn’t the same. I ordered the family package with vegetarian Biryani, which included raita, salan, plain rice, naam, and chicken curry. We got our order and it was missing the salan. I called the restaurant and got the weirdest explanation. “It’s a very small container. They make a large container and if it runs out. But it’s just a small container of peanut sauce.” I don’t care what the size of the container is, it’s advertised as a package and I expect everything in the order.“

“By far the best food and service in Baltimore! I always come in for the lunch buffet and the food is DELICIOUS! A lot of options and sometimes there is this special desert that is this doughnut drizzled with honey(?) which I love, and always have it with the complimentary Nepalese milk tea. “Fairly new to visiting the restaurant however the four (4) times I have dined or had carryout, the staff was welcoming, pleasant, the food was delicious (sidebar: I recommend the cream of crab soup), and the atmosphere was relaxing. My high school class reunion committee even planned our meeting there and was able to plan professionally without a lot of interruptions and A-1 service. “This restaurant is attached to a gas station run by a Gujarati family. Pratik Patel and his entire family are involved from prep to serving. Best quality and fresh food will be served and it's an open kitchen you can walk around and see pretty clean. We had Masala dosa, theplas, dhokla and undhiyo“

“We ordered Chettinadu curry and butter naan — both were super tasty! The curry was spicy and had that real South Indian flavor, and the naan was soft, buttery, and really big in size. Loved the food and the overall experience. Definitely a 5-star meal for me!“
