“I have never been so frustrated with this pension fund. I was approved inSeptember for my pension to start in October.Supposedly Oct and November check was mailed to me on November 3 or November 7 just depends on who u talk to at the pension fund This is December 1st and I still haven't received them.But December 1st pension check was deposited in my bank account. Way can't they do the same for October and November. I am at poverty level as for as income is concerned. It's my pension that I worked hard to get. I don't know what to do other than talk to attorney to g answers Where is my 2 pension checks and is how the pension works. U get it when we feel like giving it to you. I turned 65 in July 2022 when it was suppose to start. I didn't find the right pension fund until September. So the fund decides they can't or want go back to pay me.money that I work for. So they just keep it. Please tell me why? Let's get this matter taking care of before lawyer's get involved. Thank you Johnny McBrayer“

“Donut King saved the day for me today! I was in search of Wi-Fi for an important work meeting after my power went out due to the snow storm. I decided to walk 1.5 miles in the snow to the Starbucks nearby only to be turned away as they were only taking drive-through customers. Thankfully I decided to walk around the corner and found Donut King was open with free Wi-Fi! The employees were so nice and friendly despite the cold. I ordered a cappuccino and logged onto my computer just in time for my meeting. My coffee was hand delivered, along with several donuts on the house, which turned out to be the only food I had for much of the day. This was an unexpected and delightful treat. Thank you, Donut King, for making my day!! I hope others will read this review and give this place a try. The food is great and the warm and welcoming atmosphere is hard to find these days. “Was in the area, and decided to stop in and check out Old Town Market. Nice quaint spot, plenty of sandwich options, wine options. I tried the cheesecake and it was absolutely delicious (and huge). Friendly, welcoming people, reasonable prices. It’s a to-go kind of place, no seating inside.“

“I will start with this, I love Rose Ave.

I came in today at 10am and was deciding on a drink I wasn’t sure I would like because it might be too sweet. The cashier was genuinely kind and reassuring, and told me that if I didn’t like it, I could always change it. That made me feel comfortable trying something new.

Unfortunately, the drink did end up being too sweet for me, so I went back to the barista to ask if I could switch it to something else. The response I got was honestly kind of a bummer. She sighed loudly, exchanged dirty looks with another barista. She also tried to convince me the other drink would be even sweeter, which wasn’t even true. It made me feel embarrassed for asking, especially after being told it would be okay to change it.

She wouldn’t even look at me when I went back to pick it up and tell her thank you….

I still love this place and will continue to come back, but this experience was a big reminder that customer service matters just as much.“

“No other bakery like Seylou. We travel in to the city every weekend to eat here. The staff is so kind and feels like an extension of our family. They’ve taken my child behind the scenes and shown him how grains are killed and bread is baked. I could not ask for a better community and diet staple.“

“Cookies are pretty decent, but their operation is slow as heck… don’t even think about going on a Saturday or Sunday or around any holiday if you hate lines and waiting. I mean this should be a cookie factory line, what are we doing!! I guess Georgetown cupcakes and other places in Georgetown have the same problem but still... They should also make the lemon cookie a permanent cookie! Their best cookie in my opinion, but it is seasonal.“

“It was my first time going to this place , the staff can try to be more welcoming and pleaseant and help they clients to order , I had to take my mask off to speak and let them know what i wanted and as i was ordering I felt like i was being rushed to order , the food was tasting but tge owner needs to change the way the food is charged , I was charge for each separate item this is not a place where you order yourself a complete meal for a full charge , the food was delicious but I would not go back and another turn off in the bakery area they had flies around the sweet bread .“

“Super adorable family-owned bakery -- they also have a great drink menu and sell some packaged Asian snacks and ice cream too. Everything I've ever ordered here has been delicious but some favorites include: their cream bun (which they fill with cream right when you order it so that it's as fresh as possible and doesn't make the bread soggy), their black sesame mochi bread, and red bean and mochi bread.“

“Super awesome and super fresh and mouth melting. The moment I got my famous 5 flavors of Crumbl cookies in a huge pink box which were so warm and freshly baked, that was so soul-satiating.

The harissa sourdough with black sesame crust was one of the best sourdoughs I’ve had in the US. Same for the almond croissant - insanely crunchy, buttery, not too sweet, with an almost custard like almond paste (devoured before we took a photo).“

“I can see why people want to keep this little spot a secret. Tucked away on a side street this unassuming coffee shop is a real gem.

I got a caramel latte and one of the creme donuts and the coffee impressed me at the first sip. Really smooth, not bitter and perfect sweetness. The donut was a perfect accompaniment. Service was attentive and quick.

“I ordered a cake on Thursday at 1 pm to be picked up 4:30 pm on Friday for a birthday party. The man who picked up the phone was so accommodating and made sure that the customized message had the correct spelling of my name. When the cake was picked up, the lady was extremely lovely and kind. 10/10 would recommend and will be buying another birthday cake (very soon) from this bakery. I have also visited this bakery before to buy a n emergency cake and they have lots in the display case available. Perfect, delicious cakes. The one I got (raspberry chocolate mouse) was semi sweet and light, good for adults.“

I got the regular chocolate chip, which has a lot of chocolate chips. I also got the rocky road and Caramel coconut chocolate chip cookie which were both also great. High price but even higher quality and value. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.“
