“At first we were a little surprised to be eating in a Days Inn -- and Al-Madani is unassuming atmospherically. However, the food was flavorful and delicious (aloo palak, lamb tikka kabobs, garlic naan), and the staff were wonderfully kind and caring. I feel like this is a hidden gem and hope many more people find them and that they get lots of business!“

We got there on a Saturday morning and ran into a pretty decent line, but the staff were super friendly and it moved along quickly. “Go To Burgers has been on my list to try for a while, and we finally got the chance to yesterday.

Burgers were delicious. Everything was freshly made and came out nice and hot. The fries were good (and I don’t like crinkle cut fries most of the time). The lamb burger was really tasty and I recommend trying it if you’ve never had one.

The owner was also incredibly nice. I highly recommend checking out Go To Burgers.“

“This is hands down the best cafe in the DC area. They take coffee making down to a science and do it with attitude. The ambiance is great.

It’s a big bike (bicycle) hang out spot over the weekends, lots of folks riding on the Rhode Island Ave Trolley trail divert here.

Their food options are very light but they do have decent pastries and bagels with cream cheese.

But all that other stuff aside, if you are a coffee enthusiast, you MUST check this place out. It raises the standard for coffee in the greater dc area.“

“The restaurant was very beautiful. We were seated immediately with no reservation. Our server was great and she’s explained the specials and helped us decide what menu items were good choices. “I recently visited Marcus DC with one of my close friends and honestly could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was incredible and the service matched it perfectly.
We decided to go the small plates route and I'm glad we did. We started off with the oysters. The oysters paired the prickly pear piri piri and habanero sauce were absolutely delicious... bold, unique flavors that I was not expecting but loved every bite of. We also had the snapper crudo which was so well balanced and flavorful without being overdone. Just really well executed.
Now let me talk about the adobo cauliflower because it may genuinely be the best seasoned cauliflower I have ever had in my entire life. I would go back to this restaurant just for that dish alone!! Lastly, the crispy potato was also a great addition and rounded out the meal perfectly.
Everything about this visit was top tier. The food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. If you have not been to Marcus at the Morrow Hotel yet, you are truly missing out.“

“I Love Italian - and when I say this place has THE BEST MEATBALLS I've ever tasted - it's saying a lot! The mushroom gnocchi was light and delish! Not to mention the roasted cauliflower, burrata and garlic bread!! It was a feast and worth every bite! The staff was friendly, polite and aimed to please! The decor and vibe super cool. “The Eastern is just a couple of blocks from my daughter and son-in-law and is our go to place when we visit them in DC. They have a fabulous menu, however, we love the small shareable plates. The pork sliders, glazed carrots and pimento cheese dip are wonderful. The wait staff is knowledgeable and attentive and always ready to suggest a wine to pair with our food. We love the atmosphere and the local vibe and are warmly greeted like old friends. Love this place.“

“Our group has iftar buffet here. Food was really good with 10/12 items and had naan and tea included for the table. The restaurant is really pretty and we all had a good time. Service was good and so were the refreshing drinks for breaking fast. Will definitely recommend for Iftar or any other meals for any size of groups. The bar is alcohol free and I’d say the price is absolutely reasonable for the Iftar. I wish them well and thank them for a wonderful evening. We were so busy eating and talking that we didn’t get to take any photos of the food or decor of the place. Will go back to try their à la carte for sure.“

“After moving from Florida I have been tirelessly searching for a good taco place in Maryland. I was so happy to find Tacos A La Madre! When you go inside it is very under decorated, but clean and they have a good sense of branding with their black and yellow color scheme. The tacos are amazing, flavorful, and consistent every time I go. The ingredients taste fresh. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the shrimp tacos and the birria tacos! 🌮 This is our new go-to taco place. You have to go- you won’t be disappointed.“

“When I moved to Capitol Hill, I was blessed to find I live within a block of Jacobs. This coffee shop is cute, cozy with the nicest owner (Jas) and staff. Its quaint inside and has a larger patio with lots of seating outside. The patio is perfect during the fall and spring. It's also a dog and dog owner's dream! They had a little tin of treats for the dogs near the door, my dog knows and drags me to Jacob's anytime we passby.

I always get their iced caramel macchiato and my favorite food is the bacon egg and cheese on an english muffin. It's perfect everytime!

I love the consistency of this place and always bring my out of town friends here. Do yourself a favor and pop by the next time you're on the Hill.“
