“We were a little surprised to start the evening by ringing a doorbell to get in, but the warm welcome that followed put us at ease right away. The atmosphere is fantastically unique, quirky, and full of character. The bartenders were genuinely friendly and the service was quick.
We ordered the Mac ’n’ Cheese with Jerk Chicken, Yuca Bites, Chorizo con Arroz y Gandules and the Cinnamon Mini Donuts. Everything was perfectly seasoned (especially great if you enjoy a bit of heat like we do). The only downside was that the portions felt a bit on the smaller side.
It also looks like they host a lot of interesting events like book readings, sip-and-paints, comedy shows and more. We didn’t get a chance to attend one this time, but it definitely added to the charm and made us want to come back.“

“I've never been in the actual bar Part but if I have to go to a liquor store in the neighborhood it is by far the best one. Good selection, reasonable prices, tend to keep a lot of the riff Raff and beggars from hanging out. The owners and people that work there are very nice also. There's at least 12 liquor stores right here within walking distance and if they're open they're the ones that I spend my money with. Even late at night I feel safe going to the ATM here.“

“Convenient neighborhood liquor store, the only one in the area open on Sundays! Friendly staff are always helpful. Good selection with reasonable prices.
Parking: Parking available on both sides of the street directly outside the store and lounge. Also, a couple of spots on the side of the building.“

“Downtown location is excellent. Food is great at both locations. Service at Owings Mills location was the worst I have ever experienced. Go Downtown. Owings Mills service was dreadful. It wasn't crowded. Just really bad service. Worst service.“

“The owner tries hard to maintain a certain vibe at this place. He made it clear to me one day that johnnies is not a party spot. You go there for the stiff drinks. It has a small group of regulars and if you know who I'm referring to then you're probably one of them. But outside of them most people just keep to themselves. Like I said though, you go for the drinks and they're cheap & strong ( I've never had their food) .“

“Been here twice, once was years ago pre-pandemic and it was fabulous. We said we should come back here more often but never did… then the pandemic messed everything up and we went travel nursing. Now we’re back in town again… AND ITS STILL AMAZING. I got a jalfrezi, and hubby got tikka masala. The medium felt like a true medium, not whitewashed. Service was lovely. We were one of two couples who dined in, but looks like they have a busy takeout business. So glad they didn’t disappear in the pandemic like so many other places! Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!“

“I reallly enjoyed my time here! I was able to catch a comedy show, & I hear they do brunch & other private events. I can't wait to come back! I got the Caribbean Blue, I believe it's called, & man on man . Even the servers seemed to enjoy them selves, I love that bc they treated their customers w care & actually seemed to enjoy what they do! & DAMMIT are they good I live not too far, so I'll def be a regular. The spot has two pool tables, and the bartender poured some great drinks to get you a ripped for a fun evening.
Played a couple of games with some people and had a genuinely GREAT night.

“Did not have the food here, but Jimmy is great! We came late on a Sunday and he showed us a great time. Drinks are priced well. We've been here before, but Jimmy created a welcoming atmosphere and offered great conversation. They're making a real effort to appeal to a higher end customer; the bathrooms are newly renovated. Looking forward to seeing upgrades. Will be returning!“

“When you want old school charm and history in Ellicott City, this is your stop. I haven't been in years, first time for lunch and couldn't be more satisfied. Their stuffed mushrooms caps was all crab meat, delish. Their Steak wrap was better than a cheesesteak sammie. Herman was on his service game!“
