I paid the bill with my card and was going to leave a cash tip, the lady saw me select “no tip” and told me “tip is not included” …. I know how tipping works and it should never be excepted but appreciated. It left a sour taste. Especially given we always TIP well. Made me not want to leave anything at all. Very unprofessional!“

Being first time here, and not knowing the regular portions and size of the chicken, we ordered the whole chicken family meal with 3 sides. It was much more than we could handle. The chicken was good. I think he gave us an extra piece (leftover?) and perhaps that's why we had so much. The Brussels Sprouts was the star of the place - sweet and savory, delicious. 5 stars! We changed our mind at the last minute, and decided to eat in. Can't say it's the cold temperature, but the chicken was cold to the touch for some reason. Maybe it was the extra piece we got. I wasn't looking for a touch of New Orleans, but they nailed the sauce, with chicken and shrimp cooked just right. Our other dishes were traditional: shrimp fajitas and chicken fajitas. Again properly cooked and seasoned. Plenty of components to add into the tortilla wrapper. We finished with tres leches dessert. Moist and sweet as it was designed. Is 4 stars harsh? I based it on other Mexican restaurants that are on this level. For 5 stars, I needed them to be a cut above.“

After a while of knowing about it I finally decided to try it. I made a takeout order of the birria combo 15$ (it comes with a quesadilla, tostado, and a taco with consome) to be able to try some of their items without spending a lot. The birria quesadilla was pretty good. The birria taco was solid and the texture of the taco resembled more of a hard shell taco rather than a soft flour/corn tortilla. The birria tostado was decent. The consome was okay. Overall, the Mexican food was decent but I've definitely had better.“

Since then I have visited a few more times as it is in walking distance for me. As I was walking towards the restroom from the bar area, something caught my eye & I look to my left and notice one of the employees making fresh tortillas from this huge machine press. The reliability this could provide me if I had one of these things in my home?? Man.. The ceviche, enchiladas, and honey chipotle salmon are a must if you like seafood. I will say that they only give you 4 chips for the ceviche so if you are looking to munch on more than 4 tortilla chips then you could divulge in the chips the server usually provides that pairs with salsa, & it's free! I love how every dish included some sort of vegetable to make it balanced. The star of the show was the chocolate piñata, a fun & interactive way to get enjoy fresh fruits & indulge in sweet chocolate. Typically, it's ordered on special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries & they do give you A LOT OF FRUIT. You may need to take some to go because it's a generous portion.“

The prices are extremely reasonable for the amount and quality of the food that you get. This time, we tried the beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas, the carnitas burrito, and the chips and salsa (I wish they sold it in bottles). The chips were clearly made while we were waiting...I've never had any like them! Absolutely delicious and packed with flavor and freshness. We're adding Juanita's to our regular rotation :)“

“My partner and I were searching for a quick dinner spot and managed to find Taqueria Xintli a few minutes from us. We stopped by and are happy to have found it.The basics:- They have tacos, tortas, quesadillas, sopes, gorditas, burritos, and a few other popular Mexican dishes- They also have natural aguas frescas (tamarindo, Jamaica, horchata, etc)- They don’t have any seating so be prepared to eat in your car or to do takeout/pickup- We placed our order at the window and waited about 20 mins for our food- The lady who took our order was polite and helpful.- They give you one red salsa and one green salsa, the latter is not spicy at all. The red one is spicy but flavorful.Food review:- We got a carne asada sope, carne asada taco, carne asada quesadilla, pollo taco, and pollo sope- My partner got the tacos and he said they had a lot of meat and that they’re well seasoned. He does wish the meat was slightly less salty, but I think that’s true for the meat regardless of the dish.- The sopes also came with refried black beans, lettuce, sour cream and cheese. The masa was thick enough to provide a strong base, which isn’t always the case at other restaurants. The one thing I wish they would improve on the sopes is the amount of lettuce they top them with. The chicken one barely had any which left me wondering if the texture would’ve been more balanced.- The quesadilla was HUGE. I had no idea it would be long. In pictures it’s easy to be deceived, but the one I’ve attached in my review very easily stretched across my lap (and I’m not a tiny woman). Definitely make sure it consider the size when ordering, because you will likely not have room for anything else, if you manage to finish it. I couldn’t finish it because I dug into my chicken sope first. The area for improvement with the quesadilla is the amount of cheese that they put into it. I understand you can’t have a quesadilla without cheese, but they went a little overboard. I couldn’t really taste much of anything else and I wasn’t the biggest fan. I found myself removing some of the cheese to have more balanced bites. Overall, this was my least favorite item from today.- We also tried the chocolate caliente and agua de tamarindo. The chocolate seems to be water-based and has hints of masa and cinnamon, so it’s almost like a chocolate atole, but much darker and less thick. The agua de tamarindo is refreshing and perfectly smooth. You can actually tell it’s made in-house and not from some powder. The tamarind pulp isn’t present in terms of texture, but you definitely still taste it in the drink, which leads for the perfect balance.TLDR; Give them a try if you’re tired of the local Mexican food scene in the DMV. They have authentic flavors and dishes, with vegetarian inclusive dishes available too.“

“I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. I have always been very happy with their food. I really wanted a chicken chimichanga which I have had numerous times before at this restaurant. To my surprise this time they looked like Taquitos. I wanted the enclosed chimichanga with the tender chicken. This time it was not enclosed and of course the chicken was dry and crisp when it came out. I asked the waitress if it was the House special chimichangas that I ordered and she said yes. I told her I was accustomed to the enclosed chimichanga where the meat stays tender. She said that is only available in the seafood or fajita deluxe chimichanga which she would be happy to switch out for me. I didn't want seafood and I didn't want a steak and chicken combination, I was just really looking forward to a simple chicken chimichanga that wasn't dry. And of course I will never ever send anything back, I have seen way too many movies of what could be done if you send your food back and I don't want to chance it. I will go back again to this restaurant but I will never order the House Special Chimichanga's again. There is plenty of other good Mexican restaurants in Hagerstown that I can get the chimichanga that I want and not taquito looking chimichanga's. The taquitos that I was served tasted fine but I was just really looking forward to a simple chicken chimichanga so I left unsatisfied. The margarita did help get me through my disappointment.
