5 Best Craft Breweries near Mount Airy

Frey's Brewing Company Brewery • $$
8601 Mapleville Rd, Mt Airy

“We had an amazing time yesterday. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I enjoyed their west coast IPA (sharing the universe) and their bier de garde (interesting twang- sour with pineapple). They had lots of places to sit outside and we really enjoyed watching and listening to the farm animals. Looking forward to coming back for their bluegrass festival in May.“

Liquidity Aleworks Brewery •
8 N Main St, Mt Airy

“This place is great, and my wife and I go every week. It's kid friendly; it's dog friendly; food is as close as the daily food truck or you can bring your own. What's not to like? Furthermore, the owners should be lauded for bringing a town architectural eyesore back to life. That building has stood vacant for as long as I can remember. Restoring it must have cost a fortune. How about giving these guys some love?“

Milkhouse Brewery Brewery • $$
8253 Dollyhyde Rd, Mt Airy

“Called to see one of your Friday regulars Terry. Tried a couple of your ales thought the bitter was great, as that's to my taste. Terry bought me a growler of stair way. Very nice a tiny bit on the sweet but will have it again. Back to England tomorrow but when weather gets warmer we will come back up. From DCBeautiful place also great setting.“

Red Shedman Farm Brewery and Hop Yard Brewery • $$
13601 Glissans Mill Rd, Mt Airy

“Loved coming here. They have a very nice selection of IPAs, hard ciders, sours and stouts. Everything from the flight (they offer a 6 or 12 selection flight) was a 8 out of ten or higher. Also they offer 4 pack selections of mix and match at reasonable prices. As a bonus the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the establishment was clean.“

Stone Silo Brewery Brewery •
28800 Kemptown Rd, Damascus - 4.54 miles

“Stone Silo is new but is one of the best breweries I’ve been to in the Howard/montgomery/frederick county region and that’s saying a lot given all the good beer in the region. Seriously for a new place they are just delicious. The cherry porter and oatmeal stout were exactly as a hard beer should be. The property is also pretty. All in all it is now on the list to stop at if I’m driving by my airy on I-70. They are only like 5 minutes off of I-70 so very easy to get to“
