“Love the food and drinks and the entertainment. HOWEVER- we were there for Cliff Cody and it was a very hot day. Sat under the sail shade and still it was terribly hot. The management could really boost its comfort level for customers by simply installing either a misting fan system or a few fans on stands around the patio. It was so hot we could hardly concentrate on the entertainment and even though we had planned on staying longer and eating and drinking more, we had to leave long before we had planned, simply because of the heat.“

“I moved back to the DC area a few months ago and this restaurant had the best tasting food I've experienced thus far. Everything we had was amazing!!! We tried the deviled eggs, scallops with basil icecream (oh my goodness this was tasty!!!), beats, burger, rainbow trout, salmon bites and the chocolate cake was heavenly! Our waitress was awesome and it was a beautiful day so we enjoyed the outdoor seating. 10 out of 10 recommend! I can't wait to go back for brunch. “Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.“

“I have been going to Tom and Rays since the old location. What makes them stand out is the cost conscience menu, fresh tasting food, and a staff mostly local high school kids that are professional with can do attitude. Right now I’m raving about something as simple as stewed tomatoes as a complementary side dish. Their breakfast foods including creamed chipped beef fresh. Their lunch and dinner foods bring you back, especially the open faced beef sandwich with mash potatoes and gravy, to a simpler time. Check out their menu and ask them about their pies.“

Service was slow to order a beer and desert was almost cancelled because of time and the glazing did not arrive with one of the deserts and getting a side cup never arrived. The waitress was new and very helpful and will get better with experience. The only disappointment was their Military Discount? They only allow 10% for "active" Military making one feel that veterans just don't qualify? And the 10% you receive is only on the members main meal. So for a $60.61 meal the discount was $1.49? I give the discount I receive back to the wait staff and left a $15.00 tip.“

“The food was pretty good, but I got carry-out on my first visit, and unbeknownst to me, the plastic bag that was handed to me by the employee had a huge tear on the side, so everything spilled out of the bag when I exited the restaurant. Fortunately, the to-go containers avoided the food being ruined. Aside from that, the old town where the restaurant is located is very cute. The large fries is enough for AT LEAST three people and the sloppy dog was tasty.“

“They have great burgers, fries, nachos, chicken wings, pizza, potato skins, fried shrimp and all types of bar food. Great neighborhood joint. Large bar with plenty of TVs showing whatever sports games happen to be playing. The prices are reasonable. The only thing they should work on is a little bit bigger portion size. For example if you order potato skins they don’t bring 4. You get 3. The nachos should be a little bit bigger. The burgers are delicious! The habaneros beet sauce is delicious“
