“This is a super small, unassuming little shop, but it is an absolute must-try. The bagels are incredibly delicious, chewy, and fresh. They have a brilliant selection of both bagel varieties and spreads/toppings, meaning there is something to satisfy every craving.

The only crucial thing to keep in mind is that they do not accept card payments. It is strictly a cash-only establishment, so make sure to come prepared. If you are looking for a top-tier, no-nonsense bagel in D.C., I highly recommend checking this place out!“

“We came for a weekday brunch. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a spinach omelet. The delicious sandwich was on a beautiful grilled bagel, and the egg portion was generous as was the cheese. The omelet was stuffed full of saites spinach, mushrooms, sausage and cheese. It was served with homemade potatoes and toast. We finished the meal with a generous fruit cup that was also delicious. The only thing that would have made it better was eating on a real plate and not paper. However, the food is totally worth making this a regular stop!“

If you’ve had a fresh NY bagel, there is a distinct consistency of the outside and inside of the bagel that makes it enjoyable to eat untoasted. This place more than scratches the itch for a craving for NY bagels. I find myself just having a meal or a single bagel and cream cheese, taking a bite and applying a small amount of spread to savor each bite.“

They’re right on the edge of what I’d be willing to pay for bagels but the quality is very good. The consistency has also improved since they moved from the food truck. Coffee isn’t that great at least for me.“

“We’ve been regular customers since well before Neal’s moved to its current location. The bagels are delicious (more New Yorky and flavorful than others in the area) and always fresh. The sliced turkey breast, Nova, and chicken salad are some of our favorites. Lots of other tasty menu items too. Highly recommend!“

“TL;DR: solid bagel sandwiches

Finally got to try this place as they continue to expand around the area. We arrived in the late morning/early afternoon and there were still a decent amount of people inside, as well as coming and going. They have seating indoor which is limited, and they have several tables outside.

FOOD:
~Ice americano (3.5/5): solid. On the lighter side for our preference.

~Pastrami Sun City (4.5/5): This sandwich was really good! Complex and non-muddy flavors.

~Jetski (3/5): Personal preference. It had good flavors, but it felt a little one-note for us in terms of texture.

~Pretzel bagel (2.5/5) with garlic and herb cream cheese (4/5): The pretzel bagel was a little too soft/not toasted enough for me. The flavor was okay. The cream cheese was PACKED with flavor though.

Overall, will definitely hit this spot up again.“

“Wow what a great find. I came out this way to go to a nearby doctors appointment and stumbled upon this hidden gem. They have a great selection of bagels 🥯, salads and sandwiches. The raspberry-chocolate coffee and bagel were both perfect. Some places don’t get coffee and bagels right but this place does!!!!Lol I’ll make sure to see my doctor again here in McLean, VA instead of MD just so I can stop by this deli. “This is my go-to for lunch when I am at the office and I've been going for 5 years. Family run business that makes the best sandwiches in Tysons. It's in the basement of an office building and is a very utilitarian space--you don't come here for the atmosphere. That said, it is always clean and well stocked with non-alcoholic drinks. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches are both great. You can eat there, or grab and take back to your office if you are nearby. My co-workers and I think the prices are on the low side, but that may be the economics of their location. A typical sandwich there is anywhere from $3-$5 cheaper than what you would expect topside in the Boro or Galleria, and the portions are actually bigger.

“We stumbled upon Baked by Yael when we visited the Old Town Alexandria’s farmers market and David was wonderful and helped us discover their cake pops and that our little guy could eat them! We then had the pleasure of speaking with Yael when we visited the shop in DC. We had a cookie bar, black and white cookie (divine) and more cake pops that our kiddo could have! Finding a place that understands food allergies and has items that we can eat has been amazing! Highly recommend!“
