“Food very solid. I had the classic bowl which had the perfect amount of spice and was super filling for the price. Service was so so. Employees just ignored me for first 5 minutes without acknowledgement. Son made a make your own bowl and didn't inform about upcharge for steak in it. Atmosphere terrible - no ac or bathroom and super cramped. We took food to go but it wasn't packaged with lids on tightly and a bunch spilled out.

Would I try again, definitely based on the food. That said obviously needs better management based on facilities and staff.“

“Approaching the place, it is super bright, which helps finding it as the restaurant is set back from the buildings around it. This also gave us a sense of safety walking in.
There was someone at the counter ready to assist us, but being our first time in, we opted for a kiosk, off to the right side, with a big and equally bright screen, displaying images of every dish. This was very helpful and made the ordering easy and quick, even for us newbies to the place.
We opted to take out. Already, in the car, the aroma of delicious food filled the air. Once at our place, we started opening the containers and wrappers, even the packaging was excellent, inside the plastic bag, a heavy-duty paper back, stapled to containers to prevent shifting and spilling during transport.
The food was utterly delicious, from simple salad, tzatziki sauce (some of the best I have tried anywhere), chickpeas, seasoned fries, shawarmas and kabob.
It would be 2 thumbs up but both my hands were busy.“

“During my weekend stay in Washington DC I was able to visit the New York Grill twice.

Both times the food was IMMACULATE! I highly recommend the Lamb Gyro, and the fries were very good too!

Even with roughly a 20 Minute walk back to my hotel, the food comes out hot, and well wrapped, allowing the heat to stay within and keep your food warm for quite a while!

Overall, this was my favorite place we ate over the course of 3 days, out of about a dozen spots.

I DEFINITELY Recommend the New York Grill! Please patronize this great establishment, hell go 3 times a day if your budget allows!

“This is my one of my favourite local spots. I’ve been trying their food since they’ve opened and I’ve loved the consistency in the pricing and food. I’ve especially loved the newer plastic packaging, how flavourful each meal is, and how their service is exceptional. My son and I ordered our food to go since the place was crowded but we ended up eating the food in the car because it smelled so good. We both ordered the OKC burger with the combo. At first I was complaining about the extra $5 for the combo given that you receive a can soda. But once my food was ready I stopped immediately. They give you so many freshly cut fries it’s worth the extra $5 for sure. The burger was fresh, seasoned well and the sauce was everything! We woke up the next day thinking we should drive back which was around 45 minutes from where we live. I would definitely return. Sorry no pictures this review. Dined in with my family and saw they added gelato now. I chuckled seeing a Chinese spot offering artisanal ice cream but thought it was really nice! They have guava, mango, coconut (which I got and was REALLY GOOD) and passionfruit and lucuma. Very densely packed for under $5 a pop. Something about a place having ice cream just brightens everything up.“

“The most delicious, authentic Indian food served by a most gracious gentleman. The Nan, of which there are several choices, was warm and buttery. The homemade cheese was exceptionally delicious. Qabeli palaw (which is also the national dish of Afghanistan) is one of my favorite foods. Savory and tender lamb, fragrant rice, sweet carrots and raisins, punchy crisp onions… it all comes together just right.“

“Before trying Sacrificial Lamb, I recall walking past the restaurant many times while they had a banner up touting their naan as the best in the city. Hard to believe, given the size of the place, and abundance of quality Indian cuisine in the DMV. Over a period of several years and many dishes, well beyond the best Naan, I’m a believer. They have all the essential dishes you’d expect and they’re tasty but the curry dishes are exceptional. Whoever is making the sauces has serious skills. Mackni, Korma, masala, vindaloo, all delicious with abundant portions and quality components. Rich flavorful sauces that don’t separate and seasoning that is layered and surprising. Excellent vegetarian dishes too. Aloo gobi was a favorite. Even this basic dish had a bit of a sauce to it. They also catered to my dietary restrictions without issue. One recommendation— order later in the day. It seems the sauces and seasonings only get more enjoyable as the day evolves. Take out is done well, with sizable portions and seemingly no lost quality. Don’t miss the naan. It’s extraordinary and was always delivered warm. They also do naan wraps which are exceptional late night. Dip a wrap in the Mackni sauce, so decadent. I recently moved and have not been able to replace this little gem.“
