“Recently checked out The Dutchess, a new English pub in Hampden, Baltimore, featuring the Chamorro cuisine of the Mariana Islands, including Guam. It’s the latest venture by the Foreman Wolf restaurant group, led by Tony Foreman, located in the former Café Hon space at 1000 W. 36th St.
The menu, created by Chef Kiko Fejarang—who has roots in Guam—includes Chamorro specialties such as red rice, chicken skewers with Chamorro marinade, pork belly skewers, Spam musubi, and tityas (a type of tortilla). The bar offers eight beers on tap, a compact wine selection, and rum-based tropical cocktails. The space is styled as an English pub with a touch of glamour, featuring reclaimed furniture from England and northern Europe. Pure class 👌🏼“
“Great beers and wines. Lovely beer garden rated one of Esquire’s best in the US.“

“What a fantastic meal my husband and our son had. Son has been to many restaurants around the world and we all thoroughly enjoyed this one. We tried many different dishes and split them . These included the sour dough bread , liver pate, Sussex smokie, mackerel and of course had a delicious dessert after. The service and the food were fantastic.“

“Came here when i was in the area for the Ravens game. I stayed for the weekend a couple of blocks away. I only planned on coming here one night, but after how excellent everything was, I had to go back a second night to try other items on the menu. The drinks were excellent. The food was very good. Everything was cooked how I asked for it. The service was also very good. The second night, it was a little slower, but there was a private party, so it was understandable. I will be back when I'm in the area for another game. I recommend two things. One make a reservation. Two recommend you try it“

“If I could rate this place a 10/10 I would! Food & Atmosphere are great, but our server Nadea really put the icing on the cake! So attentive & kind! Honestly, I’d just rate her a 10/10! Whoever’s reading this, give that girl a raise! Amazing place, would definitely recommend!“

“Different Cheesesteak #1201. I got the White Truffle Lamb Cheesesteak. 1st my old man rant, I can’t believe what people are paying for craft beer/food. ‘Do you want sweet potato fries with that?’ Implied fries come with the cheesesteak. Back to our regularly scheduled review. I love what is going on down on the Baltimore Peninsula. I saw ‘Baltimore Peninsula’ painted on the side of a building so I assumed they were talking about the area I was in. Fun place, good crowd and good energy. The description of the WTL cheesesteak sounded very good. It did not pass the eye test. I expected the roll to be sub (philly) par and it was. It didn’t look good but it tasted amazing. All the parts worked very well together. The sweet potato fries were probably worth the extra $2.50. $20 for the WTL Cheesesteak, $2.50 for fries and $8.75 for a draft. If you follow me you know I am not a fan of these prices. With that said, I will be back to try the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and Mac & Beer Cheese w/crumbled bacon. The bartender was pleasant and professional.“
“Had some amazing cocktails here. The bartender was very knowledgeable and made us some drinks based on our preferences. The music was played from records, and they sell records in the back. Very unique experience and will go again! Thanks!
Kid-friendliness: Not much for kids here.“

“At a tagliata, I recommend trying the classic Tagliata di Manzo, which is thinly sliced grilled beef typically served with arugula, cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan shavings. It's a delicious and flavorful choice that showcases the quality of the meat. Enjoy your meal!“

“What an outstanding experience for my nephew's 18th birthday! This was our first time visiting Cu Vino. Our server, Alejandro, was very welcoming and attentive. He was charming and provided flawless, timely service. We enjoyed the Cozze Coperti, Calamari Capri, and Crocchette di Patate. All were fresh and flavorful. The outer coating of the Crochette di Patate had a notably perfect crunch and the garlicky wine sauce served with the Cozze Coperti was lovely. The Calamari Capri was tender with a crisp coating. For entrees, we enjoyed the Carbonara and a spare rib special with cherry tomatoes, served with gravy and layered with mashed potatoes. The special was herby and felt pleasantly light for a meat-and-potatoes dish. The Carbonara, however, was everyone's favorite of the evening. We were instantly obsessed. We took dessert to-go and have yet to try it, but the Zeppoli, Chocolate Chip Cannoli, and Tiramisu all look as though they will match the perfection of our earlier meal. Looking forward to visiting again!“

“Oh boy, let me tell you about the pre-game magic we experienced at Johnny's! With a high school state championship soccer game at Loyola on our agenda, my friend, her daughter, and I were on the hunt for the perfect spot to fuel up before the excitement. And boy, did we hit the jackpot with Johnny's! Walking into Johnny's was like finding a hidden gem in a treasure map. The cozy vibes wrapped around us like a warm blanket on a chilly Sunday—it was just what we needed! We settled ourselves at the bar, eager for some drinks and snacks, and that’s where the real fun began. Our bartender was nothing short of a beverage maestro! I ordered a cortado that was so perfectly crafted I nearly swooned. Seriously, it should have been on the cover of a coffee magazine! And let me tell you about their wine list—it’s like a unique art piece. I picked a Pinot Noir to accompany my house-made Old Bay chips, and it was such a delightful pairing that I felt like a sophisticated sommelier for a moment. Now, my bourbon-loving friend was over the moon to discover that Johnny's stocked his all-time favorite brand, FEW. After indulging in wine and coffee that could make any day brighter, we just had to cap off our relaxed Sunday with a round of bourbon. Because what’s a pre-game without a little celebratory sip, right? My friend and her daughter were enjoying their vanilla latte and mocha to the fullest—let’s just say the smiles on their faces were positively radiant! And the cookies? Oh my goodness! The gingerbread and peanut butter cookies were instant crowd-pleasers. I’m pretty sure I’d fight a bear for another bite! Now, here’s the kicker: my friend might live in sunny Florida, but I’m ready to brave the Washington Beltway traffic any time just to return to Johnny's. If they nail snacks and drinks this well before a soccer game, I can't even imagine what kind of culinary genius they have up their sleeves! So, Johnny's, you’ve stolen my heart (and my taste buds)—I’m already counting down the days until my next visit!“

“I think this place deserves a better rating! The head of food and beverage (Ricky!)is wonderful and so attentive. He was a joy to have as a server and bartender during restaurant week. He takes pride in the place and explained they are under renovation atm and will soon have a great outdoor space. Drinks were great and the food was good (I’d rate food 3.5/5) but very tasty and presented well with a big portion size. It was honestly so enjoyable and I’d be back just for Ricky alone.“

“When I stepped into Corkscrew on a Saturday night, I was struck by how much of a geniunely good time everyone was having. But when you consider that the DJ was doing his thing with banger after banger, it's little wonder. The food: I found it to be solid but some items were not as moist and flavorful as they could have been (the salmon), didn't have the kick they could have (the jerk egg rolls), and others saltier than they should have been (the collard greens), I really enjoyed their mac and cheese--it's perfect crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside--the way it's supposed to be. I would order that alone and be happy. The drinks: the bartenders were on point. We had a variety of drinks both on their menu and classics. They hit every time. They even make a great amaretto sour. The Corkscrew sour was a surprising and welcome twist on the sours we are familiar with. And I'm not embarrassed to say that I ordered an amaretto sour and enjoyed it. Like really enjoyed it. The bartenders are beyond belief. The music: we were initially disappointed that there wasn't live music this time but the DJ quickly made us forget all about it. He was playing hits from the 2000s, modern tracks, Afrobeats, Baltimore classics, and even some 70s all timers here and there. It was incredible.Vibe: the seats are so plush and comfortable that you don't want to leave. The interior design says sexy urban chic. You feel so damn elegant just being here.Service: the young man who served us was pleasant and noticeably polite. However, after we ordered from the menu, we were perplexed to see waiters walking by with plates of fried fish, steak, and salmon--all not listed on the menu.We didn't see him for some time but when we flagged him down, it turns out he that he forgot to tell us about the specials. Then he asked if we wanted him to tell us about the specials. It was as annoying as it was hilarious. I couldn't be mad at him at all.Overall: this place is awesome. We have to keep spots like this in Baltimore open at all costs. Please go support them and you'll have a great time doing it. 9/10“

“I loved everything about this place. The r&b music they played the atmosphere the the service and food was perfectly seasoned and tasty. We had the oxtail egg rolls the grilled oysters for appetizers and fried lobster and crabcake for entree. The crabcake was truly lump. Our sides were broccolini asparagus mashed potatoes mac n cheese and the crab fried rice which also had lump crabmeat in it. We also had 3 drinks which were also good. For all of that our bill was only $210 including gratuity. I have no complaints and will be returning. I recommend anyone who is considering this place to ignore the negative reviews and they for yourself which is what I had to do and I'm glad I did.
Parking: They have valet parking but we were able to find parking right outside the restaurant“
