“Enjoyed a great dinner at Beteseb Restaurant when we came into town for the funeral of a dear Ethiopian friend. The food was excellent and the owner/chef and her brother (who was our server) were very kind, helpful, and welcoming. I highly highly recommend this place, especially for their kitfo!“

“This is a convenient spot for Thai takeout. We generally like the food, but it’s VERY inconsistent. The pad Thai is ok, but sometimes incredibly sweet. I wouldn’t say that this tastes like authentic Thai food (we’ve been all over Thailand), but it’s good in a pinch. Never dined in since the dining room is a bit odd.“

“My brother visits us from California every couple of months, and this is the one restaurant he always makes sure to visit. He rarely eats out, but whenever he does, this is his first choice.

Yesterday was my first time trying the food. I only planned to have a small taste, but it was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor.

What really inspired me to write this review, though, was the incredible hospitality. I had a wonderful conversation with the cashier after I mentioned Shashamane in Ethiopia, and when she asked me where I was from, I said Jamaica. We ended up having such a warm and enjoyable conversation. She was kind, welcoming, and made me feel right at home.

I also spoke with another gentleman, who I believe may have been the manager. We had a great conversation about halal meat since I’m Muslim. He was just as friendly, respectful, and welcoming.

Overall, the entire experience was outstanding. The food was excellent, but the genuine kindness and hospitality of the staff made the visit even more memorable. I’m so glad I finally came in with my brother to experience it.

This is a must-try restaurant. If you’re looking for delicious Ethiopian food served by warm, welcoming people, I highly recommend giving this place a visit.“

“We had an early dinner before attending a performance at the Ford’s Theater. We made reservations through Open Table and were immediately seated upon arrival. The service was great. Our server recommended several dishes that we loved. There were abundant vegan and vegetarian options. Chilorio de Res tacos were mouthwatering as were the Hongos en Milto ones. In fact, every dish we ordered was delicious. One dish (chilaquiles) never arrived from the kitchen but we were pressed for time so we opted to have it taken off our bill instead of waiting for them to prepare it separately. Dessert, Cafe de Olla, was phenomenal. Pics are only some of the items we tried. Great atmosphere for date night and a milestone birthday celebration. Highly recommend.“

“No other bakery like Seylou. We travel in to the city every weekend to eat here. The staff is so kind and feels like an extension of our family. They’ve taken my child behind the scenes and shown him how grains are killed and bread is baked. I could not ask for a better community and diet staple.“

“Consistently delicious! Normally, I just go for the cookies, cronuts, and petit fours. This time we tried all things savory. We were invited to a German Christmas Market Themed party — very specific I know… Since it was a potluck, we decided to make currywurst. Heidelberg’s brats for the recipe were so good. We also grabbed their huge soft pretzel (yum) and their curry spread (double yum). Whether you go sweet or savory, you can’t go wrong. Love this bakery!“

“Food was great. Overall satisfied with the meal. Wait staff was quick and friendly. Worth a visit. Only way it could be improved is to have citronella candles on the table. There are no candles on the tables outside. Be sure to tip generously!“

“I finally gave in to the hype and went to try this $6 cookie.

The chocolate walnut cookie is a big boi, the form factor is half the point. The exterior has a satisfying crispy, buttery crunch that gives way to a doughy (but fully cooked) interior. Big, textured walnut pieces add a nice bite.

That said, it is quite sweet. The chocolate is overwhelming, even by cookie standards (though I understand it looks great on Instagram).

If I do try another cookie, I’ll be eating it in two sittings instead of one 🫡“

“This was such a lovely dinner! We came to celebrate my dad’s birthday and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us with a little dessert and a candle. They were so sweet and all smiles the whole dinner. Prices were more than reasonable and we enjoyed everything we ate! Highly recommend! Our server was Carson, btw—super kind!“

“This is for the Silver Diner in Chantilly,VA. We live a little over 2 hours away but stopped here for dinner after car shopping and we were not disappointed! My husband and son both had milkshakes and burgers and I got the meatloaf. Classic diner menu but really elevated and creative. The man who picked up the phone was so accommodating and made sure that the customized message had the correct spelling of my name. When the cake was picked up, the lady was extremely lovely and kind. 10/10 would recommend and will be buying another birthday cake (very soon) from this bakery. I have also visited this bakery before to buy a n emergency cake and they have lots in the display case available. Perfect, delicious cakes. “This is our 5th time doing Restaurant Week at Alabardero and the food never disappoints. We have always loved the paellas and croquettes. The service is amazing, super fast, and the interior decor is beautiful. I know some folks mention the paella doesn’t have the crispy rice in the bottom but personally I prefer that way. “This has definitely become my new local coffee shop. It’s the kind of place you can go to every day before work starts—it has already become that for me.

The atmosphere is great; it’s a very easy place to get some work done or settle in with a book, and the outdoor seating is a huge plus. I love coming here in the morning for an iced mocha and their sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The seasoning is excellent and the food is always fresh.

The staff is super nice and they are incredibly quick with orders. I’m already planning on heading back this Saturday with my new read.
