From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a warm smile and an infectious energy that set the tone for the whole meal. Her patience was remarkable, especially when we had a few questions about the menu, and she offered insightful, accurate recommendations that truly made our meal memorable. Not only was she knowledgeable about the dishes, but her sense of humor made the experience so much fun! She was so personable, treating us like old friends rather than just customers. On top of that, her level of customer service was top-notch—attentive without being overbearing, and always checking in at the right moments. We truly appreciated the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism she brought to the table, and it really elevated our time at Hook & Reel. “Go there very often. Love the place, food drinks and the vibes. The place also looks great, seems to be in a tent. Their appetizers kills and the tajines are great as well as cous cous or the roast chicken. Drinks are very creative and super balanced. Love it“

“Fun bar to chill and hang out with friends, or meet new ones. There are 3 pool tables and more than 6 screens. There is even a pull down screen when they have video games. The pool tables are 7 foot bar tables and well felted. You pay with a card on the table and it’s about $2 a rack. The vibe is good with various music and neon lights. Very Instagramable if you like taking photos with neon and fake plant walls. There is bar seating and seating at tables. There is no food at the Toro Bar so bring your own.

Toro always has sports on TV and drink specials. They have a beer and shot special and other mixed drinks. Don’t expect a world class cocktail, but expect a fun night and good people. This is a good neighborhood bar in Columbia Heights and Uptown. A short 10 minute walk from the Petworth Metro station. It’s right on 14th Street NW and off the bus line too. There is street parking in front.

“Solid bottomless brunch! The drinks are STRONG, food delicious and filling and exactly what you want when you are doing a bottomless brunch. Appetizers were a little pricey imo, but $48 for an entree and unlimited cocktails I mean I can’t think of a better bottomless brunch I’ve been to for that price point. Also super cute vibes - beachy/coastal. Could be a casual breakfast or a boozy brunch with the girls!

(Note: if you are an espresso martini connessuier, don’t get it. It is made with cold brew and they add sugar so it’s quite sweet. It’s alright especially for a bottomless, but if you’re picky get any other drink.)

“If you’re in DC, Quill cocktail bar is the place to go. Its dim lit atmosphere and ambience provides such an intimate setting whether for friends and family or for business. You have your choice of sitting indoors or outside on their raised patio. Oh, and the service here is phenomenal! When you first sit, they bring you mixed nuts and olives and introduce themselves. Their cocktail menu may have only been just a page but if it’s not on there, they can definitely make it for you. My wife requested an Espresso Martini (non-menu) and it was the best of its kind she’s had yet. She also enjoyed the Ventura Highway, from their menu. My personal favorite of theirs was the “Johnny be Woode.” This became my go-to there. They do have a dinner menu as well. Their burger exceeded my expectations! Their desert menu impressed! The presentation was artwork and the flavors will surely make you long for more. Our server two of the three nights we were there was Andrew. Andrew made sure we had everything we needed and could possibly want. He provided absolutely excellent service, great humor, and pleasant conversation. On our third evening here, Amber greeted and served us. Amber is another gem at Quill, making recommendations on menu items as well as local recommendations around the town based off what my taste preferences are. Both Andrew and Amber had an awesome attitude and helped make our stay at the Jefferson Hotel just that much more memorable! The atmosphere, service, and great attitudes made for such a unique and satisfying experience that we ended each of our evenings, visiting Quill. Next time we’re in town, we will definitely be going back to Quill.“
