“We're staying in the area for work, and we stopped here for dinner. All I can say is that the coconut soup is the best you'll ever try. It's absolutely amazing. The rest of our food was good as well, but that stood out as the best I've ever had in my entire life. I may come back again just for that.“

“Tucked just off Georgetown’s bustling main street, Rimtang is a charming ode to Thai street food, capturing the vibrant spirit of its inspiration. The menu offers familiar classics with familiar flavors in an unpretentious setting.
The spring rolls were an instant hit—perfectly crisp with a delicate balance of crabmeat and black mushroom that avoided being overly crabby or earthy. The papaya salad was a refreshing palate cleanser, with a subtle undercurrent of heat that played well with the crunch of green beans, cherry tomatoes, and peanuts.
The spicy crispy calamari was the crowd-pleaser of the table. Imagine bite-sized calamari poppers—light, crunchy, and addictive. Every piece delivered a satisfying snap, and they vanished from the table as quickly as they arrived. The laab tod brought the dry heat I crave at thai spots. Crispy, aromatic bites of kurobuta pork coated in toasted rice powder had a dry, lingering spice that kept me reaching for more.
The panang curry with chicken was a comforting dish that didn’t overdo it. The chicken was tender, swimming in a well-balanced coconut curry with kaffir lime. A side of white rice tied it all together without overwhelming it.
The thai lemongrass pandan tea arrived in a playful freezer bag with a straw—a whimsical touch and a nod to its street food roots. It wasn’t overly sweet either.
The space is clean, though the booths are a little snug for comfort. Our waiter was clearly new and stumbled a bit with the menu, but their kindness and prompt service smoothed over any hiccups. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it nails the essentials—crispy textures, balanced heat, and fresh flavors. For now, it’s a solid stop for a satisfying thai fix.“

“If you’re in search of authentic Thai cuisine, look no further than this hidden gem. Tucked away like a best-kept secret, this unassuming spot delivers food that is as delicious as its artful presentation. Each dish is meticulously crafted by the talented Thai chef/owner, whose passion for authentic flavors shines through every bite. The flavor reminded me of homemade food in Thailand.
The service is impeccable, adding to the experience, with the server/bartender who made as feel like valued guests in a cozy, bright and cheerful space. In a neighborhood increasingly filled with gentrified spots, this place is a refreshing reminder of what real, freshly made food should be. I wish I lived here just for the opportunity to dine at this incredible restaurant more often!“

“Great experience. The food and friendly atmosphere reminded us of our time in Thailand. We tried several dishes, all of which came out right. Service was attentive, and the the restaurant was tidy, with an overall neighborhood feel. Passing through the area the next day, we decided to stop in again, and left equally satisfied. Seemed to be vouched for by local patrons. We observed out-of-state visitors enjoying the hospitality; commenting positively and engaging with staff between the comings and goings by a steady flow of pick order patrons. The location and ample parking made coming and going a breeze each time. We'll be back.“

“Nice atmosphere and quick service. The pad prikh kingh with tofu I had was tasty and the veggie gyoza was good as well, but deep fried and not pan fried. The lunch portion was a bit smallish, but yummy and served with white rice. I will definitely return for another visit!“

“I have eaten here thrice before. with my colleagues. I ordered the basil fried rice with vegetable and chicken. It was bursting with fresh flavors and wonderfully intense spiciness. Everything is so clean, and the staff is friendly and efficient! We were the last ones to leave and never felt rushed or like we were being a nuisance to the staff. I had a third, wonderful experience and i highly recommend it!“

“We had a delightful dinner this evening. All the dishes were delicious and properly seasoned. My only complaint is when I asked for Nam Pla ( fish sauce) I was told there was none available and was offered soy sauce instead. I find it very difficult to believe that a Thai restaurant would not have nam pla available for its customers.“

“We dine here relatively frequently. Plenty of tasty vegan options. Service is good, performed by friendly staff. They play some music, but not too loud. And you can even charge your EV for free (within a few minutes' walk)! What else does one have to ask for? :D
Parking: There are free EV chargers within a few minutes' walk.“

“Amina Thai in Rockville is an excellent spot to relax and enjoy some delicious Thai food. Their extensive menu features a variety of dishes, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. I tried the chicken Pad Thai, and it was truly exceptional. The sauce was wonderfully tangy, and there was plenty of chicken—definitely a step up from many Asian restaurants that skimp on meat.
We also ordered the veggie noodles, which were decent but didn’t stand out. Overall, the prices are reasonable, making it a great value. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. If you’re in the area, Amina Thai is definitely worth a visit!
Dishes Ordered: Veggie Drunken Noodles, Chicken Pad Thai and Tofu Vegetable“

“Enjoyed lunch with a friend here. We sat outside and while the weather was lovely, the trucks going by on Connecticut Avenue made it hard to hear. Our meals of the lunch special were tasty and spiced just enough to enjoy without mouth burning. I liked my Pad Ginger with Pork served with a green salad with a memorable peanut sauce. My friend liked her Pad Thai with Chicken served with a taro roll.“

“Excellent place to go for delicious vegan Thai food!! Would recommend! Such great customer service, very kind staff. Worth every penny.“
“I went on Thursday for lunch. The sesame chicken was good, but I wasn’t particularly impressed by the mango boba. They must’ve been understaffed, because I had to wait a long time to have my order taken, despite being the only person in line. When someone did eventually take my order, he did so efficiently, which I appreciate.“
“Was disappointed that almost half of the menu was not available when we visited during lunch hours. Wanted to try the mac n cheese, crab cakes, ribs… none were available. Service was also a bit dismissive. We happened to come on a very hot day and there was no AC - it was just as hot as outside. Still giving 4 stars as the food we did have was good. Especially enjoyed the wings and breakfast wrap.“

“The best Thai restaurant in the East Coast. Worth every second of my visit to DC. I’ll be back next year with my wife. And order the same thing: shrimp rice with pineapple and cashews (Khao Pad Sapparod). And for dessert: ginger ice cream. Service was awesome as well.“

“Friendly staff and good food... spice level on the Gra-Prao Ped was spot on and while the crispy duck had great flavor, there was just a bit too much fat left on the meat (so I couldn't really eat the crispy part). Loved the twisted Thai tea... went great with the meal!!“

“Mango salad is amazing! Sweet and spicy. We had the panang chicken and charm Thai noodle special. Both dishes were packed with flavor. The restaurant has limited seatingbwhich allows them to get food out fast and piping hot. This place will be going on our restaurant rotation.“

“The food was hot and delicious. I had the steamed veggies and the blacken chicken. The food price was reasonable (7.75). Drinks are a bit pricy but its located in a food court so you can find a beverage at close location for $1. And the only (oh really) factor was when I got my receipt they had charged (without notice) .05 for the bag the put the food in as take out "at a carry out restaurant". I was in the area for 4 hours my next meal did not charge me for the receptacles the supplied me with.“

“The food is good, BUT they don't label takeout. Was hard when ordering for 6 to know whose was whose. Does takeout ladna come with noodles in one box, and meat in another box? Which was no spice, which was mild spice?“
