“Ben's Chili Bowl (Washington DC) We had Ben's Chili Bowl on our list. With over 4,000 reviews, I was shocked to see a place so popular have under 4-stars on yelp. Ben's Chili Bowl has been around since the last 50's. If a local busy can stay open this long, they're doing something right. I had their Jumbo Beef Chili Dog and Fries. I don't do spicy, and their chili has a kick to it. I found myself sweating even though it was 40 degrees outside. The chili was good, the dog was okay, and the fries were perfect. If I'm ever back in town, I think I'm going to have their Chili & Rice. And of course, I'm not skipping on their fries. There was a line when we arrived, and it goes by so quickly. Food was served even quicker. Be prepared, know what you want, and tip the cashier.“

“Brunch menu had a wonderful variety of choices. And, the food was delicious & well-prepared. Of particular note was the tiramisu cake — excellent taste & presentation! I did find the prices of the entrees and sides to be a bit too pricey. I think a small portion of one of a side dish (beyond the greens provided) should be included in the entree price. Additionally, I found the focaccia offered to be tasty, but paltry in size/quantity. The restaurant itself is modern & pretty. But, sitting by the wall that is shared with the kitchen was noisy —- many bumps into the wall from the kitchen side. Service was attentive, but thought it a little odd that the waiter had to wipe down tables between diners. I will go again for dinner!“

“Food was amazing! Came to visit from Chicago. Had the bacon and cheddar burger. Hubby had the afterburner burger, spicy but delish! Appetizers (Korean wings and onion rings) on point! Did not disappoint at all. Highly recommend. Similar to a pub so not kid friendly (when we went 11pm).“

“Yes! I love the concept. I love how it’s a hand made patty and the burger was cooked perfectly. In addition, you have an option to add items to your burger if you do the build your burger option. You can also choose their preselected choices which look really good. I chose to add sautéed onions, bacon, and Italian sausage. I will say although the Italian sausage was good, I wouldn’t add it again; it didn’t hurt the burger overall. You choose your seasoning (I chose basic), sauce (house bbq), lettuce and tomato. I also ordered the seasoned fries (garlic parmesan). I was curious so I asked for the spicy ranch. It was pretty good.“

“I went there because no other restaurants around there had open seating and I didn't have reservations. I should have come here first because the food was great. The hostess set us up for a table for five right away, which suprised me because it was crowded. Our waitress was right on top of things and our food came quickly. I had the chicken parm sandwich and I loved it. The other in my group had burgers of different varieties. Everyone thought the food was delicious. The bar was good too. I'd definitely come back.“

“My friend and I came here after the zoo because it was conveniently located right across from the Asia trail. I ordered a Posh BLTA without the B and my boyfriend ordered Oeufs Norweigienne (sp?). I enjoyed my sandwich A LOT, however, my friend's had EGG ON TOP OF EGG. They had to have used like 6-7 eggs for that thing. It tasted delicious, but he felt sick afterward from having so many eggs. We were going to walk around the rest of the day and we didn't have a car, plus I don't like eggs, so unfortunately we had to waste the rest of his meal. The waiter was super weird about it and kept ignoring us, and I think he was upset that my friend didn't finish. It's not our fault, and it was yummy, but how can anyone finish that many eggs?! Lol! It would have gone bad if we took the rest with us.Anyway, the bill was a reasonable amount of money and it's a cute place. My Posh BLTA had delicious avocado and it tasted very fresh.“

“We stumbled into this place after some other burger places were closed, and I'm glad we did! This was one of the best smash burgers i've had in a long time. I understand people saying the burgers are a bit pricey for the size, but to me the delicate nature of the sandwich combined with bold flavors really sealed the deal. I can't remember which one my wife got but we were both in heaven, and even after sharing the shockingly good garden salad, we didn't feel stuffed like we usually do when leaving burger places. Oh, and the Ghost Claw cocktail was delicious and refreshing. We'll absolutely swing back around to Ghostburger the next time we're in DC.“

“The much-anticipated sister restaurant of Purple Patch opened just a few weeks ago and I'm already hooked! It's a lovely addition to the neighborhood, offering a simple menu with a lot of flavor. The wagyu burger is nicely balanced, and depending on your appetite you can get a single to a triple patty. The ube soft serve with coconut is such a hit and the flavors are perfect. It's been really busy for good reason, so you might have to wait in line especially on really nice days, but service is pretty fast and they also have an order online link. Enjoy the outdoor seating on a nice day! Indoor area is small but very pretty, and stools with counter-style tables lining the interior. Very kid friendly as well as they have a kids' menu,' tables, and neighborhood kids' art on the walls. You can also purchase a few Filipino snacks like v-cut chips and boy bawang (garlic corn nuts), and they also have some canned non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available. With the addition of Joia Burger, the owner Patrice really shows how much she cares about the Mount Pleasant community and is invested in it. And when I had the rare opportunity to eat in one as a kid I thought it was the coolest. I ate outside on the patio and the restaurant is at 16th and K, and it was pretty loud outside.
