“Longhorn Steakhouse Biddeford Review

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I had a meal from LongHorn Steakhouse in Biddeford that really wasn’t up to par. I normally ignore the feedback surveys, but this time I decided to fill it out. I was pleasantly surprised when James, the manager, called me almost immediately and kindly sent us a gift card to cover the full amount of our bill.

A week later, right in the middle of packing our house, we were far too exhausted to cook and decided to use the gift card. Unfortunately, that second meal fell short again. Instead of waiting for a survey this time, I called the restaurant directly and spoke with James.

He immediately took ownership of the situation and offered to have us come in so he could personally cook our meal to make things right. My husband was entirely skeptical and didn't believe a manager would actually step onto the line for us. Well, James completely blew us away. He changed out of his management clothes, put on an apron, and personally stepped into the kitchen to prepare our dinner.

I ordered the New York Strip with a loaded baked potato and asparagus, and my husband had the 9 oz Flo’s Filet with broccoli and rice pilaf. We started with a half order of the Texas Tonion, along with their iconic warm bread and butter, and my husband even grabbed the cheesecake with caramel and pecans to go. Every single item was cooked to perfection. It was, hands down, the absolute best meal and overall experience we have ever had at LongHorn.

To top it all off, our server, Sadie, was phenomenal. She worked so hard, gave us her undivided attention, and had the friendliest, most delightful personality.

In an era where food is expensive and dining choices are on every corner, we truly appreciate the hospitality, the accountability, and the entire team rolling out the red carpet for us. 10/10 we recommend LongHorn in Biddeford because they stood behind their mistakes and 100% rectified the situation.

We are so grateful for James—what an amazing manager they are so lucky to have. To James and Sadie, thank you for making our dining experience an absolute treat from beginning to end. You’ve completely changed our opinion, and we will for sure be back!“

“My wife and I stayed in Kennebunk for a couple days this week and our first stop was The Pilot House. Elliot was upstairs on the ship and he was awesome, he gave us great recommendations for food in the area, and pointed us at the best things to try. 10/10 would recommend the Clam Chowder, and hands down this place is the best view in Kennebunk. Maybe take a light jacket for the wind up on the ship, but it’s an amazing view unmatched by anything else in the area. Lastly, parking in general in Kennebunk is difficult/expensive, The Pilot House has their own parking lot with great availability in our experience and is free for patrons of their restaurant/tours.“

“Always the best food and customer service in town. We have been going to 50 local for years, it continues to be a family favorite. Have to share because it made such a hard evening just a little easier. A few weeks ago we lost our dog Scout very tragically. I called in an order to go and whn I went in to pick it up the hostess immediately knew something was wrong. She asked if I was alright and I instantly broke down.. I told her what had just happened. She then proceeded to give me two desserts, gave me a big hug and, told me they were on the house. It wasn’t about the desserts (they were fantastic as always) it was more the kindness, support and, sympathy that she showed us that evening. “How could anybody complain when we’ve just been through a pandemic - We’ve been through a shutdown, many thousands of people have died, schools closed & kids had to learn from home (and then had hybrid learning), many businesses folded & people lost their jobs, the job market changed & people worked from home - Prices went up considerably which made it much harder for some people to get by & many could not make it - I feel that it is remarkable that The River Tap & Grill has done as well as any restaurant out there - Kudos to the owners, the staff & to all the others who have made this possible -“

Our server Eric was awesome from start to finish. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel and absolutely loved it. I had the butternut squash linguine with prosciutto, roasted squash, arugula, and their homemade crostini bread… incredible. I even saved half so I could enjoy it again another day. “If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Old Orchard Beach, slightly away from the pier, The Gally is your spot.

It definitely has those classic dive-bar vibes, but with really good pizza, a fun atmosphere, and awesome staff. Honestly, this is probably low-key my favorite bar in Old Orchard Beach.

I almost didn’t want to write this review because I kind of like keeping it a secret. But the staff were fantastic. I believe our server’s name was Kelsey, and she was terrific she really made the whole experience even better.

And the pizza? Probably the best pizza in Old Orchard Beach.🍕

No frills. No pretension. Just good pizza, great service, a fun location, and the right kind of dive-bar atmosphere.

“I've been coming here since they first opened, and I don't think they've ever replaced the seating! Every. Single. Booth cushion is deflated with wonky springs. Terribly uncomfortable and they also keep you too low in relation to the table. REPLACE THESE PLEASE, and maintain as needed!

I don't care for cowboy kitsch.

HOWEVER! While it's true that I sometimes have to send my steak back because it's not the correct temp, this place, compared to every other place I've been in greater Portland, including Texas Roadhouse and non-chain $$$$ places, has the best SIRLOIN steaks and at the most affordable prices. Their baked potatoes and sweet potatoes are always excellent. I love the crispy brussles, too.

Here's a secret for seafood lovers: They have excellent salmon, also affordably priced!

Bottom line, come for the food and down-to-earth prices and focus on your dining partner and conversation. The wagon wheels and such won't even be noticed.“

Its a local gathering spot but convenient if you are trust passing through. A very easy going vibe will be found here with $5 22oz draft beer 🍺 Wednesdays.“

Tucked away right next to the pool, this spot was exactly what I needed—a laid-back escape from the downtown hustle and bustle of Kennebunkport. I was initially confused about how to get in (thought I was lost for a second!), but once I found it, I knew I’d discovered something special.

Plenty of shady spots to lounge, a great indoor-outdoor vibe, and seriously relaxing poolside energy. A lot of games for kids. The menu hits all the right notes—classic food and drink options that are comforting and satisfying.

The real highlight? Kayla, the bartender. She was an absolute joy! Super friendly, attentive, and full of great local recs. Her service was top-notch, and she made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. We chatted, laughed, and I left already looking forward to coming back.

“The Whaler in Old Orchard Beach ⛱ Maine. First let me just say I really like this bar. Its got 3 fish tanks in it. Imagine a bar with fish tanks? There are two billiards 🎱 tables placed in a cool way. They have live music frequently at night. The bar has a whale theme from the pictures, carvings, and overall theme. Its really a cool sight. The bar is the closest to the Amtrak platform in OOB. It makes it my last stop after visiting. This is one of the few Bar locations that is open year round around The Pier in OOB. Its across the street from the platform. I take the train a lot and will be visiting when the tourist season slows down. Its a fun historic place to settle into.“

“I come specifically to Old Orchard Beach every year just to eat at The Bell Buoy. They serve the best seafood and are very closely located to the pier and beach. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the lobster is a huge selling point. Friendly staff, great food, good service, and a mere walking distance from many of the other attractions.
