“Stopped in to Martha's Diner on our way to Acadia National Park. On one of the hottest days of the year and despite the fact the diner has no AC, it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. Simple scrambled with bacon but with fresh Maine blueberry pancakes for me and my wife had ham and eggs with the biggest slab of ham I have ever seen on a breakfast plate. It is an old-school, local diner with waiters and waitresses shouting orders and the kitchen shouting back. Very 'local' vibe as well.“
“I read the one star review as well as several four and fie star reviews and my curiosity was sparked. My wife and I were visiting Maine and wanted to experience a little local color. We got that in spades. Brianna was one of the kindest people we have ever met as out of towners.. We had great conversations with her and others., We could not have felt more welcome. As for the”F” bomb, I say BFD. Places like Peppers Pub should be relished, not trashed. We loved this place!“
“A delightful and welcoming family business on the Surry Rd in Ellsworth. The café was charming and stylish, and the food was amazing!Wheelchair accessibility: We were delighted that the member of our party who requires a power wheelchair was able to enter the store with provided gently sloping ramp and comfortably traverse the store and maneuver in the café. Thank you!“
“86 out of 86!! Ordered the Rockabilly burrito bowl ?, beyond amazing!! Added avocado, which is very fresh.Very friendly staff, insanely fast, wonderful atmosphere, and incredibly delicious!!!!Anyone passing through Ellsworth should absolutely stop here for a bite! ?Dietary restrictions: Great gluten-free options!“
“The staff are friendly and the place looks nice. The prices are quite fair. The food is very good, starting with the fries, they aren’t anything to write home about, but are good. The buffalo wings are very good, they are nicely seasoned, super tasty, tender and juicy, and are quite large. The Philly cheese is a must have, the price is totally worth it, and the steak is very flavorful. The bun it’s on is nice and fresh.Overall very good place to get food , probably my new go to place to eat“
“I love stopping in here for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I can always find something to hit the spot. The food is always delicious, and the service is great.Vegetarian options: They have a curry tofu veggie scramble on the menu, but they told me they would accommodate/swap out pretty much anything.Dietary restrictions: I got the tofu scramble but swapped the tofu for eggs. The sourdough toast is also amazing!“
“I’ve never liked the coffee at governors in Ellsworth.. and I love coffee with my breakfast!. Today my friend Staci encouraged me to try the coffee. She said we changed it’s!I’m now on my 2nd cup and can sit here and drink it for the next two hours!Well OK that’s a little overkill but I am so happy to finally be able to drink coffee at governors and it’s absolutely delicious. I have no idea what kind it is and I’m not even going to ask!All I know is it was delicious! Thanks governors for changing your coffee and making it better tasting in my opinion! Those of you that like the governors coffee before it is so much better..Your staff it’s so kind and sweet and sincere… the service is always great and the food is really good (thanks Chefs) Thank you from one satisfied customer!Vegetarian options: Eggplant would be awesome!“
“We always dine takeaway so we can't really comment on the service aside from our limited interaction. When we go in, the place is usually fairly busy and seems to be well kept. Getting our takeaway order isn't a pain, sometimes I got to wait due to the mob of people trying to get seated. We've had a couple orders messed up recently, missing slice of pie or something like that, so we check the orders now before leaving. The vast majority of our orders weren't missing anything. The food and pies are good. Their hot honey chicken is very good. We've had a number of their desserts, usually take's us an extra day to finish a slice of pie as they are generous. Their eclairs were so big I had to try them. Not much to complain about, we will come back.“
“Nice place most times nice customers as in all places theirs the few undesirables but nice workers overall and convenient access to tables scrumptious crab rolls and burgers are handmade unlike other places from the freezer to the grill overall nice place“
“Their lobster is delicious and tender (even without the crack butter which is never the case for Philly area lobster), if need be for those with family members that can't eat shellfish or avoid seafood they have traditional cuisine like burgers made to your liking, chicken tenders and salads...veggie burgers too for that family member you weren't able to leave home no matter how hard you tried. If your waiter/waitress isn't sure what you mean when asking for garlic butter (common with uncultured seafood eaters like myself from the Philly area) then ask for the "crack butter", they'll know what you mean. Thank you to our waitress for her hospitality, the owners for the great family dining, special thanks to the husband for the fresh caught lobster.“
“Hosts were very accommodating. Great wait staff. Food took a little longer to get out but the hash brown crab Rangoon was incredible! Whoever came up with this recipe should be put into the hall of fame.Burgers were cooked perfectly. Pink on the inside and a char on the outside. Definitely upgrade your fries to the spiced toppings.I love the ambiance. It has a cigar lounge/downtown feel and there was a younger child helping around the place which really gave it that home town feel.A bit pricey with an odd caveat on the menu for a small surcharge but with 2 burgers, upgraded fries, a bowl of Mac and cheese for the little guy plus the appetizer we made out right at $100 with a tip.Would definitely recommend.(Owner engages with customers. A+ in my book)“
