“Hubby & I ended our wedding day with a trip to Beal’s to grab some lobster rolls & catch the sunset, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect end to the best day. Lobster rolls are the best we’ve had in Maine, blueberry cheesecake was amazing, staff was so kind and excited to have us there and we were seated at perfect, intimate indoor table with gorgeous views of the harbor. Went back the next day and had scallops & clams, and food was equally as amazing and fresh as night before. We LOVE Beal’s and will be visiting any time we make it back up to Maine!!“

“Tuesdays are slow days for any bar. Not The Barnacle, though. Industry workers and outdoorsy types were walking into the bar, giving it a cozy, neighborhood vibe. Pockets of friends were chattering away in the hidden nooks of the bar. Barstool tables were patronized by all walks of life. The Barnacle felt like a gathering place where everyone was welcome, and that was the vibe we were looking for when walking downtown in Bar Harbor after checking into our hotel.

The menu list was extensive enough, with some food options available. The bar itself is a bit small, but there seems to be an outdoor patio space (verify this, though, as I just saw the back door open).

This is a great place to end your day, or start your adventure. The menu is sized right for the size of the bar itself, and the Paloma Kombucha Margarita isnot too sweet, but certainly delicious. I will be back here again!“

My pups were greeted and given a bowl of water and enjoyed the smoked turkey off dog menu too! Solid selection of local beers and nice variety of cocktails to choose from too. I would highly recommend checking this place out. There’s also an ice cream shop right next door, if you happen to not be too stuffed after your meal!“

Our meals consisted of fried shrimp & clams, a hot dog and fresh lobster rolls along with French fries, coleslaw and pickles with the sandwiches. Price was comparable with other restaurants in the area. Plenty of parking and room to move around. A great place to watch the power of the ocean.“

Service was professional, right down to uniformed wait staff, commensurate with a five star joint. We shared the corned beef Ruben which was excellent. Shaved thin, fat attached, with an excellent horseradish mustard dressing. Excellent spiced, but not spicy, fries.“
