“Best take out food around with pleasant seating areas inside and out. We always have the fried scollop lunch but lobster rolls and other fried seafood is also excellent. Has salads and hot dogs etc too. Seasonal and closed on Tuesdays. We have been coming here for years. Never lets us down.“

“We were in Castine to enjoy my husbands 50th Reunion at MMA. A large group of us enjoyed lunch on Friday at the Castine Variety! The food is truly delicious, fresh, and a delightful surprise in an unlikely setting! We also, as a large group, enjoyed a fabulous dinner on the Saturday evening. Its BYOB, which is appreciated, and for those of us that cleverly ordered the SeaBass - oh wow! simply outstanding!
We all enjoyed several diffent menu items over the 2 days, including ordering a homemade blueberry pie to take home!, but most of all, we really enjoyed the hospitality and sheer talent of Chef and Kermit! Castine should be proud to show-case this establishment! We will happily return!
