“🍱🍣 Surprisingly good sushi restaurant in downtown Rockland in midcoast Maine. We’ve been regular diners in Rockland for many years but had never been to Suzuki’s until this week. The selection was excellent, including some original local touches (e.g. local 🦀). Per tradition 🇯🇵 the chefs prepare the sushi at a bar in full view. The atmosphere is casual (like most of downeast Maine) and it’s not too loud. The service was very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. And, of course, the food was delicious. Be sure to call ahead as it’s busy all year round. We got a reservation, and we’re very glad we did, as it was at capacity even on a Saturday in early December, which is not a busy time of year in Rockland, Maine!”

“Every time I come into Affinity I’m always greeted with a smile and either a good morning or a good afternoon. Donny is always attentive and polite. Not only are the teas and shakes to die for but you can always count on them being tasty. I love that I can just walk in and know that whatever I get it’s going to be phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone I can!”

“WOW!!!A feel-good local favorite, I’m so glad that out of all of the great restaurants on Main Street I chose “Rockland Cafe”, I had read some reviews about it before I came to town and was swayed by some of creative offerings on their menu like their Reuben Sandwich made with a fish filet 🐠 (!), Seafood Lasagna and their Homemade Fish Cake which is a reason to travel to Rockland, Maine! It was a cross between a Potato 🥔 Latke/Pancake and a Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 Bacalaito - it’s delicious!!!! A must try with some lemon 🍋 wedges (skip the tartar sauce). I don’t recall my server’s name but she had a fun personality and told me how much she loves her job. I watched how customer after customer were all greeted by name because this is a local spot that has a loyal fan club! I would have loved to have tried many more items such as their many dessert pies - apple, blueberry, peanut butter and chocolate but I didn’t have room in my stomach! I write about food professionally and can say that this place serves everything with love. Keep it up!!!”

“Everyone at J&J is super friendly, lobster prices are very reasonable, and watching how they operate is really fun! Owners are AMAZING and so are their employees! “My review is based off of the tamales just ordered. I grew up in Panama and it was one the best treats to get fresh tamales. It didn’t happen very often- but when it did, I loved them so much. And obviously in Maine- it’s almost impossible to find them- especially authentic. I was quite impressed with Sammy’s take on tamales. Of course- they are not the exact replica of what I had- but they are very impressive. And it’s A LOT of work to make them. It’s not Taco Bell. These are real tamales and I truly hope they don’t go away. Thanks so much for adding these into the Midcoast menu taking the time. Truly delicious. 🇵🇦”

“Best REAL bar in the town. We were looking for somewhere to watch the eagles with hood wings!! Chowder and wings were unbelievable, Reuben delicious!! Chris the bartender was personable and on it! “Snowfox is a grab and go sushi counter located inside a Hannaford supermarket. A variety of prepackaged combinations are available. Sometimes there are also side items available, such as seaweed salad or dumplings. Some of the combinations are vegetarian/vegan.”

“My aunt and I went to Archer’s on Monday and splurged for lunch and totally enjoyed ourselves! The setting was gorgeous, beautiful with views of the harbor and we had the best seat in the house. The staff and were friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. We tried the peekytoe crab cakes and oyster Rockefeller for appetizers and had the lobster lunch special! That lobster was the best one I’ve ever had, perfectly steamed and very delicious. Couldn’t walk away without a slice of raspberry and blueberry pie for dessert! I will recommend this place to all my friends who travel to Maine for vacation! Archer’s made these 2 Cajun gals very happy while we were on vacation! Thank you so much Lynn!”

“Rockland isn’t known for its reviews but is a great town with a great food scene. The envy in some ways of the surrounding communities, at least from the restaurants. Rock City is no exception, if you want a great cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast bite this is one of the best cafe’s to happen upon. The food takes a minute as it’s all homemade and not microwaved like the drivethru spots. Enjoy and support local!”

“The food is very good and the the people are very nice and patient. The one thing that annoys me is that I order the bacon double cheeseburger with no lettuce and no pickles. I know the folks taking my order get it right. They repeat back my requests as they are entering into the computer. maybe the folks putting the orders together should read what the order says? This happens everytime .”

“My wife and I had lunch on a Sunday after visiting the Farnsworth Museum. We chose this because it was open and within eyesight of when we decided to grab lunch.

Dumpy brewpub atmosphere. Good service. The red ale was good. My wife and I shared onion rings that were perfectly cooked and in the same light breading as the fried fish. I had the fried haddock sandwich which tasted right off the boat fresh. Perfect and matches any fired haddock I have had in New Bedford.”
