“We had the passing of an older relative. I was desperately trying to plan an after services luncheon for a small group of about 30 people. It was nearly impossible . The owner of Cat Face Cafe was incredibly kind and understanding and accommodated us by closing a little bit early and allowing us to do a buyout. He was very fair and reasonable with the cost and so accommodating. I cannot stress what an excellent job he and his team did. The food was delicious, the place was perfect for our group and it was nice to celebrate our family member in such a cozy comfortable spot. Everyone was thrilled with ordering special coffees and having the unique sandwiches and delicious salads. I should add that this was all done with 48 hour notice. I wish we lived in town so that I could support this business. Great food, yummy drinks, kind staff and comfy environment. Support Cat Face Cafe! Thank you all again :)“

“Every time I go to a new city I try to find a nice place to have a cigar and relax. This place is JUST the spot for that. You can have coffee or liquors depending on what you want with your cigar, and the people are lovely. Wonderful atmosphere and the perfect way to kick off a vacation.“

I had the lobster roll with clam chowder, and both were incredible — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My husband ordered the baked crusted haddock and loved every bite, and my mother-in-law had the fish tacos, which were just as good.

“How could anybody complain when we’ve just been through a pandemic - We’ve been through a shutdown, many thousands of people have died, schools closed & kids had to learn from home (and then had hybrid learning), many businesses folded & people lost their jobs, the job market changed & people worked from home - Prices went up considerably which made it much harder for some people to get by & many could not make it - I feel that it is remarkable that The River Tap & Grill has done as well as any restaurant out there - Kudos to the owners, the staff & to all the others who have made this possible -“

“This little hole in the wall restaurant was a great surprise. It's a short walk from the main area of OOB and is located right on the beach. The tables are literally set in the sand. Beyond that is dune grass and the ocean. I had the best tacos in my life! They featured cole slaw, pulled chicken and sweet Thai chili sauce. Delicious!“

“Our first time dining here. We were seated promptly at a nice table with both a view outside and by the fireplace. My husband had an entree but I was fine with two starters, a salad and the seafood stew, both were delicious. Little bit of a lag with my wine. I could see it setting at the bar for five minutes and finally I flagged down our server and asked for my wine. Very convenient in town location and there is parking if needed. We were able to walk from our inn.“

We went in with a large group and everyone's food came out hot at the same time. The wait staff were all super helpful and patient with a large group and kept the table cleared of dishes at every chance.

“Food was mediocre. The taco chicken was a bit dry but the sweet chili sauce on the tacos gave it more flavor. Service was slow, we ended up getting our food before our drink which was odd. It was clearly a busy day though.
What I love about this place is the atmosphere. It’s a boat shaped restaurant and you can sit in the back on the sand and they had live music all day (on a Saturday) which was what made us stay there so long.“

We had the BBQ for 2 with pinto beans, cashew queso with chips and collard greens (originally to get in a green veggie but wow, delicious!) The Diablo barbecue sauce, although not as spicy as the name would imply was outstanding! We will definitely be back.“

“In OOB for a quick getaway with my two kids. Stopped here for breakfast both days. The food was on point, kids loved the French toast and chocolate chip pancakes. But the service Marley gave us is what really stood out. She made my kids and I feel right at home.“

Our booth was very nice and roomy but not visable to the rest of the restaurant. Our server really seemed to care. I was a little annoyed that the “free refillable sodas” that came with the kids’ meals was only for certain sodas. Not clear on the menu and not explained when we ordered. The kids would have been happy with cokes or sprites. $22 later on soda, when the bill came, we realized sofas weren’t so free. I don’t mind spending money but hate wasting it.“

Our server Eric was awesome from start to finish. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel and absolutely loved it. I had the butternut squash linguine with prosciutto, roasted squash, arugula, and their homemade crostini bread… incredible. I even saved half so I could enjoy it again another day. Hubby tried two of their 5oz beers (Space Ghost and Santa’s Reinbeer) and enjoyed both. But the show-stealer? The apple crisp cheesecake. 🍎 Hubby took one bite and said, “This is so good it should be outlawed.” And honestly, he wasn’t wrong. It was ridiculous in the best way. We left talking about how we’re glad we live two hours away, because we’d be here every day if we didn’t. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. Amazing food, great vibe, great service.“

“Very cool seafood shack on the water with a fresh seafood market and counter bar. Servers were all super friendly. Clams and shrimp were super tender and their chowder is fantastic too. Even on a semi cloudy day in the 60s before beach season really hits it was still pretty full up so I'd recommend doing reservations if you're going to be here in the next few months on weekends. Will definitely return on our next trip to OOB.“

“I come specifically to Old Orchard Beach every year just to eat at The Bell Buoy. They serve the best seafood and are very closely located to the pier and beach. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the lobster is a huge selling point. Friendly staff, great food, good service, and a mere walking distance from many of the other attractions. I cannot recommend this place enough, and hope it remains open forever.“

“So back in November, we went to Longhorn to have lunch after we’ve been doing some holiday shopping. Our experience was less than stellar. I reached out through their website to Longhorn and let them know what had gone wrong. The rice was bad the steaks weren’t right, The waitress was nice but she never came back to see if we wanted refills on our drinks. She didn’t bring my husband a spoon for his coffee so he could stir the cream in the sugar. It took a long time for her to bring us the bill and for us to get the check back after we paid the bills so we could leave. It was just a frustrating and bad experience. it was just a bad experience
, and it was the first one we really had.

They sent me a gift card, asking me to come back and telling me that if I had a problem in the future, please ask for a manager. Part of the problem with the first one also was sadly the waitress was not good. She didn’t pay attention to us. It took a long time to get things done.

Our second trip was a couple of weeks ago. The waitress was very good. The food was good. I ordered the baked potato without any onion as I’m allergic to. The food came out in a timely fashion the waitress refreshed our drinks as we asked it was a much better experience. I will say the sides when they came out my potato, especially it was good, but it really wasn’t hot and that was pretty much the big thing that missed the mark can’t give you five stars because of the first experience but I will say after them trying to correct the issue we will probably go back again. I didn’t ask for a manager this time Because I just wanted to have the deal done and we were on a time crunch, so yeah, they kind of redeem themselves on the second trip. If we go again in the near future will read again and see if it’s better.

I do appreciate the fact that they tried to take care of the situation as best as they could from the first experience so we will probably go again, but as a few people have previously noted in their reviews for the amount of money that the food costs, I expect it to be a good experience so we’ll see what the next one is, but they did redeem themselves after the first trip.“

“Food came out quickly. Waitress was efficient. The nachos were really good and the Key Lime Pie dessert martini was delicious. Bathrooms needed cleaning, both men and women's were kind of gross. Women's was super sticky floors and I saw a few bugs on the floor in both bathroom and main dining area.“
