“CHECKS ALL THE BOXES! Whenever we have summer guests, McLoons is on our list of must visits. If they are from away, they all want lobster, and the views from this spot can’t be beat!BONUS—no issues with seagulls there! I wonder if that’s because they do not offer fries/fried foods? Don’t skip dessert! The bread pudding, whoopie Pies and ice cream are part of the experience! I’ve seen some reviews that some have found the lobster rolls to be small. STRONGLY disagree. Go there, and be prepared to pay fair market price for what you get. We usually BYOB, (even soft drinks, because we don’t care for their selection.)”

“We passed by this place many times. So glad we finally stopped in and sorry it wasn’t sooner. Pastry Twist is light and buttery. Cinnamon Roll is delicious. Amazing Apple Streusel Cheesecake Bombs! Gluten free scones and more. Monhegan Coffee Roasters coffee and tea served. Whole bean and teas sold for take-away. Next time, we’ll try the savory options. Definitely returning again.”

“We drove all the way to Rockland from MA after checking on google to make sure they were open & google said they were open until 4. Gave up a day at the lake & they were closed on Wednesday!!! They need to adjust their hours!!”

“The food is full of flavor and abundant. I always feel like I have received plenty for the money I have spent. I love their avocado tacos and the noodle bowl. So yummy! There is a creme they home make that adds a wonderful dimension to the flavors. Highly recommended this little take out.
Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian with protein option if you are not vegetarian, fish or chicken.
Dietary restrictions: I have gluten allergies. Most items have the option of being gluten free.”

“We’ve been hearing about The Uproot Pie Co. from friends over the past year, and driving by many times and decided tonight is the night. We had no idea what to expect and delighted when we opened the door. It’s very welcoming with a warn friendly atmosphere. As you walk by the prep. area you get to watch pizza being made, then there’s this funny looking wood burning oven. Over the order desk is is a blackboard menu. After pacing our order we had a seat at one of two long (20’) farm tables amongst other patrons which added to the charm. After a very short time our pizza was served and boy was it amazing. After one bite, I looked at my wife and said this is my kind of pizza. We have eaten a lot of pizza around the mid coast, and this maybe my favorite. As for the three ladies working behind the counter, their fun friendly personality added to the experience which rounded off the night.”

“My review is based off of the tamales just ordered. I grew up in Panama and it was one the best treats to get fresh tamales. It didn’t happen very often- but when it did, I loved them so much. And obviously in Maine- it’s almost impossible to find them- especially authentic. I was quite impressed with Sammy’s take on tamales. Of course- they are not the exact replica of what I had- but they are very impressive. And it’s A LOT of work to make them. It’s not Taco Bell. These are real tamales and I truly hope they don’t go away. Thanks so much for adding these into the Midcoast menu taking the time. Truly delicious. 🇵🇦”

“Absolutely lovely and wonderful! The raw tuna ceviche appetizer with yuzu dressing was incredibly fresh and delightful. The nigiri with tekka roll special plate was perfect. The fish and seafood were absolutely fresh and tasty. I so much appreciated the nigiri with the lobster topping as I felt that this was a poetic addition to being on the coast of Maine (I’m from New York City, so this delighted me a lot).
The atmosphere is well curated and feels very comfortable. The staff is super-friendly.
Reservations are highly recommended. I had called ahead and left a voicemail and received a callback to confirm the time.

“Went in not expecting much in sleepy Thomaston ME; ended up w one of best sandwiches ever, not just in Maine but in all my travels. The chickpea wrap had perfect combination of spicy sauce and crisp vegetables in a very fresh wrap. Honestly, I was shocked to find such deliciousness in this small, unpretentious shop. Didn’t try anything else, but 100% recommend chickpea sandwich!”

“12/6/24 came in got 3 footlongs, In my younger days worked at Subway for a total of 6 years or more on and off, I know how a sandwich should be made, to the young women with blackish reddish hair who says she's been there 2 years, you made great sandwiches for me, Just enough of everything and you were super friendly, if I could figure out when she worked I would get subs on those days, if I'm spending my money, I want it how she did it, I never get that at any Subway, give this young women a raise for taking care in what her job entails.”
