“Jim's was recommended to us by locals as having better prices and the best pizza. Glad we took their advice because it was excellent (We ordered the Jim's Special and it had the perfect crust - not too thick, not too thin but with a crispy, cracker-like bottom, tasty sauce, generous cheese and toppings). Service was fast and friendly. Lemon meringue pie was also delicious. If you're not looking for trendy atmosphere but just want a darn good pizza, go to Jim's.“

“Generous portions of home-style food and friendly service in a time capsule 50's/60's "supper club" atmosphere. My husband and I both had and the open-face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. We enjoyed the architecture as much as the food - rock features, cedar shake ceilings, vintage lighting, and kitschy resin table tops. Large menu to please most appetites. Really a must-see (and dine) place!“

“Lovely old course to play on vacation. The gentleman in the clubhouse was great, helpful etc. One of the guys mowing was rude when I tried to find out where to leave my cart at the end of the round. Probably needs to find a job with little to no human contact.“

“Pizza- WOW. Make that 7 WOW'S. Hugely the best pizza in the CC area. Soft, chewy crust- truly edible- excellent high grade of cheese- and that sauce. The sauce has sweetness- but thickness- with a great aftertaste 'bite.' The only pizza I can eat reheated days in a row. Wish I knew about this years ago! Whoever did the recipe- kudos bigtime.“

“Really cool place inside. Service is super friendly and quick. Reservations are for sure recommended and luckily someone suggested that to us ahead of time so we were prepared too. Really good menu options and they have specials on Fridays (not sure if it's a weekly think or only Friday) and we both got the Bang Bang shrimp bowl and our two other friends got a full slab of ribs with Carolina Gold sauce. It's a mustard based BBQ sauce and it is finger licking good! I really liked all the fresh ingredients in everything they made. Good drink selection, full liquor setup and bartender was knowledgeable and really nice. It was just a great vibe in there. You get the feeling that everyone knows everyone but if you're an outsider, you don't feel like one. If you're in the Keweenaw, make it a point to stop and have a bite.“

White House Lodging American • $$
3606 US-41, Mohawk - 2.06 miles

“Midway between Houghton and Eagle River made this the perfect spot to enjoy everything the Kewenauw peninsula has to offer. Fluffy towels and pillows, and a peaceful, quiet room. We could really tell how much the new owners cared about our experience and they checked in to make sure we had what we needed. Just a a short ride into Calumet for arts coffee, and food, and just a quick trip east or west to beaches and parks for rock hunting and stargazing, waterfalls, and the beautiful woods. Driving up the shoreline to eagle river and beyond is a must for beaches and nature preserve trails, and the beaches at misery bay, Agate beach, and the mouth of the river near houghton were amazing for rock hounding and relaxing. Close to trails for winter, too. Glacia tavern across the road had great food, and also Slim's Cafefor breakfast a few steps away. Try the cinnamon rolls!“

“Great "Mom and Pop" restaurant with delicious food! Best breakfast out we've had in a very, very long time!! We had the corn beef hash (came with 3!!eggs) and sourdough toast, a HUGE homestyle pancake, homemade biscuits and gravy with fluffy scrambled eggs and yummy, smokey bacon. Homey, small town vibe with friendly staff. Extra large portions, with amazing prices. Cash only, so come prepared. ATM at the local grocery just down the street (worth the extra stop for sure). “We dine at Quincy's at least once a month. Love the food, waitstaff, and atmosphere. I only gave food 4 stars for this review because we had deep fried cod dinners on 1/19 and it was not very good. The fish was OK, but not the same as in past. Fries were chewy. Please go back to the cod and fries you had before.“

“Went there twice in two weeks for fish fry. Perch the 1st time haddock the second time and wife had shrimp both times. Fish was good both times, ask...for a second tarter sauce. Wife's shrimp was under cooked on our second visit, my wife complained and they made her another order no hassle at all. Nice quiet place with all patrons using their inside voices. The fish is decent. Potato fries or potato wedges, coleslaw and small piece of bread come with. I think wedges cost a little more. I haven't had anything else from their menu at this point. I'd recommend Copper Mine to my friends.“

“A little disappointed in the service received tonight. Ordered 2 ice cream cones. One was received right away and the other was a custard. We were told the machine was taking awhile to fill and asked to park in spot 1. Sat there for about 15 minutes while multiple cars came through and got their stuff. Not one time did anyone that came out question why we were still sitting there. After about 20 minutes went in to see what the hold up was, no one could recall anything about custard filling up or anyone waiting on any. There was no offer to give a different kind of ice cream only gift card or refund.“

Douglas House Saloon Bar • $
517 Shelden Ave, Houghton - 10.13 miles

“My family always make a point to stop in at this very iconic saloon for their pickled eggs! It's located right downtown, so there's plenty of street parking all over the place. The one side is a restaurant, but the bar side is so much cooler with neat architecture and decor. It's fairly small inside, but service is always good. I've only ever been there for small bites and a drink or two, but it's always a good time!“
