“We walked in on a Sunday evening for dinner with no reservation. Immediately, we were warmly greeted by the manager/owner Alberto and provided a prime table. Our server Francisco was attentive, funny, and foresightful. He knew how to recommend the right dishes as well as keep our kids engaged throughout the meal.Food was amazing. Especially the choriqueso appetizer and the Birria quesadilla dinner. Order the fresh lemonade. You'll want a second glass. “What a fun find in Berkley! No nonsense taco joint with simple food done fantastic. Chicken, steak, and pork tacos were all fabulous in their own way. Excellent fresh salsas and wonderful margaritas. We just got back from a week in Cabo. The only thing missing from Casa Amado was the ocean view ? - although the dining area is quite nice. “I love this place so very much. This should have been reviewed by me, waaaay sooner. Tacos, quesadillas, and horchata. Outstanding. The best in the area by a landslide. Authentic, clean, and time + cost efficient. My brother put me on to here a few years back and now I am a regular. I must’ve brought at least a dozen diff people here that’s how much I love it & believe just about everyone will! “This is my go to place for Mexican food in Birmingham. Next to Market Northend, smaller and also accessible when you have no reservations elsewhere. “Most authentic Mexican Restaurant in Royal Oak. Great Choriqueso and chips are good when fresh. They have a selection of mild and hot salsa for taste. I enjoy all the food here. Especially the ground beef and carnita tacos. I've also had the mixed fajitas. I've been here at least 20 times. So glad Royal Oak finally got proper mexican downtown. However 1 huge fail. Their house Margaritas are not drinkable. I have a buddy that will drink anything. He couldnt drink my Margaritas there. I've tried it a few times and can no longer order a Margaritas there. I've heard the sane story with several other people. They wont make money unless they fix this. I've bartender for 20 years on the side. I know what I'm talking about. I'm afraid without good house Margaritas mix with the right tequila, this place won't last long. Alcohol is where the money is. so If it does last long. Must be laundering money like the rest of the mediocre shops around Royal Oak.“

When they saw my wife was pregnant they went above and beyond for us to get us seated as possible and the servers work as a team so somebody is always there to check on you. Our food was delicious and fresh! Authentic Mexican restaurant for sure!!!! The never ending chips and salsa are fire ???.I had a mango margarita, it was to die for! Absolutely delicious. Our waiter was Silvio he is the greatest! We're a big family, it can be intimidating to serve a big party, but he was fantastic. He made a point to connect with all of us.
