“It's one of our faves! Best calamari around. Every time we come here, we end up ordering 2 of the calamari apps (just for 2 people), lol. My go-to is always the Seared Ahi Tuna (light seasoning). Hubby almost always gets the Brisket Dinner when it's available. The brisket is braised in Vernors VERNORS!! Being from MI, we know all the benefits that Vernors offers. The food is delicious, ice-cold beers and the friendliest staff.“
“We ordered through DoorDash for our Valentines Day dinner. The food was soo good! I had the Ma's meatloaf and my boyfriend had the chicken breast dinner. We ate everything. I ate way too much, but couldn't stop! We also ordered the meatballs that were excellent. There were so many, we saved them for our dinner tonight. All the packaging was labeled, with a very nice note on the bag. I even asked for a special surprise that they honored. I won't say what it was because then everyone would be asking for it ?. Seriously, if the owner and staff see this, thank you so much. We will definitely be visiting the restaurant after our great experience and food through DoorDash. There are a lot of fun things to do at this Mt Clemens Jem like bowling, darts, pool, and getting drunk while listening to live entertainment late nights on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday's. Also you can watch your favorite sports on one of many TVs or catch up on the local and national news. They also have a jukebox if you feel like entertaining the bar with your favorite tunes. They have clean bathrooms. “The food here is amazing! I hate going to restaurants because it seems like all the food is the same and the food comes out bland. The rage tater tots are delicious, the bacon is actual cooked then crumbles bacon, the cheese sauce it steaming hot and the tater tots are perfectly crispy, I could not get these tater tots cooked to this level of perfection at home, they are that good. The corned beef is the best I have had anywhere, Turkey bacon wrap is also delicious. You can tell the food is made with intent and pride. A restaurant like this is really hard to find and I will be a repeat customer.“

The cheese bread is exceptional. 1/3 lb burgers are fresh, not frozen. Frosted glass for your beer. Fries are air-fried and served piping hot.Atmosphere is basic bar and a bit tired. Prices are very reasonable. The entrance is not inviting.“

From the vintage cash register to the antique bar, the Cook Hotel bar is a blast from the past and a pleasant change of pace. Our bartender, Christina, was friendly, funny, and all about great service. Make no mistake: this place is not fancy. They have a basic beer selection (bottles & cans), serve their wine from boxes, and don’t offer any food. But they do have a full selection of liquor and you can order a fabulous pizza from Tivoli’s (across the street), have it delivered, and eat it in the bar. If you ever find yourself in Richmond, definitely check the Cook Hotel bar out! You’ll be glad you did!“

“Amazing food. We have eaten here a few times before on late night adventures, and found the place to be surprisingly good; much better than what you would expect to be ordinary pub fare. On this visit they had a steak taco special on the menu, which we both ordered, and enjoyed immensely. Another feature we like about the place is the big selection of bottled beer, and a pretty good selection of draft beer, so lots of choices for your evening beer exploration adventure. The only thing preventing this being a five-star review, unfortunately, was the too-loud trivia game they were playing that night, which steamrolled all other conversation. Since we weren't playing trivia, trying to talk over the incredibly loud game announcer sucked all the pleasant atmospheric ambience from the room. We left as soon as we finished our beers, with happy bellies, but irritated ears.“

It was huge even the small portion is super big. 3 people can eat off the small one. And I ordered a French Onion Soup as well. I loved, definitely a must try again. “The Friday Perch Special now,...........ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. The Lake perch dinners have always been top notch. The batter was more of a nice light coating that was delicious as were the fries. Well fool me once I guess. I ordered two perch dinners last Friday for carry out because my wife is having a procedure done early this week and didn't want to be around crowds and figured it would nice to enjoy our favorite meal from Hamlin's. I opened the carry out container to find dark brown chunkies of thick hard batter and this dry fish. We only ate two pieces and the rest is getting tossed out..The reason behind fool me once is that what always has been Lake Perch is now a fish called Zander Perch and they raised the price. It's a big fish from far away lands. Look at there specials. I wish I would have instead of relying on memory.“
