The space is gorgeous, with an open, modern feel and big windows that make it perfect for both daytime and evening dining. The atmosphere is lively and stylish. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, I tried the crab cakes and everythingbagel wings for the apps and the lumen burger with truffle fries which was cooked beautifully with full of flavor and the presentation and taste was excellent! Drinks were really good for the occasion.. If you're looking for a stylish spot downtown with good food and a great vibe, Lumen is worth a visit.“

“This was our second visit to Hamilton’s. Upon arrival back, we were immediately reminded why we rebooked. This time last year, the hotel and restaurant were barely open but still left an incredible impression.

This time around, we were just in time to try the new fall menu - which was texted to us in advance with our reservation confirmation. As part-time vegetarians, I’d had my eye on the lasagna. It just so happened, they had a “taste” of lasagna on the specials menu that evening. The vegetables and pasta were cooked perfectly. With the mushrooms, you didn’t miss the meat - at all. And the béchamel. Oh my goodness.

On the advice of Manager David, we also tried the whole roasted chicken. Holy. Moly. This bird was herb brined, starring rosemary. Juicy, tender, perfection. Crispy skin. The smashed potatoes were just stupidly good. Creamy and crispy perfection.

The food, signature cocktails, and amazing wine selections aside, the true stars of Hamilton’s are the staff. David was ever-present without being over-present. BJ delivered his artistry in libation form flawlessly. And Chef personally delivered the chicken and heard all our feedback. We felt like superstars the entire evening.

The owner did reach out to me to apologize and offer cleaning/replacements for my clothing. They also spoke with the staff to make a training and learning lesson for them which I appreciate. I’m changing my rating of the experience based on Owen’s response, as most owners do not attempt to rectify a bad situation.

I have never had an experience as bad as the one I just had at Firebird Tavern. Needless to say I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. The visit started well and our server was very pleasant and attentive. Halfway through our visit, a full tray of drinks and shots was spilled on me to the point that a mop was needed and a wet floor signed was placed behind me. Not only that, but my white shirt is stained and not reparable. I was soaked. The server eventually did apologize to me and told me that she was personally comping ONE of my drinks. First of all, I would NEVER expect the server to comp any drinks. Second of all, I was never approached by the manager to access the damage or talk about comps, WHICH I would assume from the establishment itself. When we were brought our bill, I asked the server, ‘what is the establishment taking care of for my damages’. The manager eventually came to talk to me and did not seem aware of the situation, even after many servers explained what happened and I showed him my clothing that was still wet and stained. He simply replied that the server was comping one drink and he would see what he could do. The server came back with the same bill, no initiative from the bar or manager and I paid for the bill as it was. How is this acceptable from a bar that my table paid several rounds of drinks and food for the night? I have never experienced this lack of care in my life and cannot express my disappointment and frustration with the management and overall experience of Firebird. What an embarrassment to our city. As a resident of the downtown area, I would never expect such a terrible experience.“

“The mushroom dumplings and roasted bone marrow were a spectacular story of flavor with every bite. Micheal the server was fun and had a cool shirt. The place itself is lovely and well thought out from the sustainable menu to the design - we’ll be back!“

“Originally from Michigan but now live in Florida. Went to Detroit for the weekend to attend Red Wings games. Looked for perch dinners and found Andrew’s. Absolutely awesome perch with a generous portion. Loved the atmosphere of the old time era. Staff exceptionally friendly as was the owner. Would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to return. What I liked was the minimal breading so you have the true taste of perch. This is by far the place to go if you love perch.“

“What can one say about this! Amazing coffee, meaning a real mean and perfect double espresso, and silence, all that in the middle of an incredible museum. My wife and I went to this place through a spiral staircase of the first level and were stunned. And to top all that, I was so intrigued by the crests that adorned the walls. Take your time and enjoy looking at them because I apnly had one concern: why, ih, why did I not have more time to spent there? But, we have another trip to the area soon, so we will be back....“

“After reading several reviews, it left me hesitant about going to Iridescene, however I'm glad that I did not let that deter me. Everything we ordered, from the wine and dine menu was delicious. The chicken breast was tender enough to cut with a fork. And the mashed potatoes were very tasty and well seasoned. I would recommend this place.“

“Beautiful setting with amazing views of the Detroit River and the Canadian skyline. Courtney was my server and she was excellent. Paced the meal and drinks perfectly and left me with plenty of uninterrupted time to enjoy my book and the view. Highly recommended if you are staying at the hotel or even live in the area.“

“Had an amazing evening!! We went with 2 other couples . It started out with Eve in the bar, she was so knowledgeable and made us the most amazing cocktails. Then we moved to the dinning area where Keri was our waitress. Her suggestions for wine and dinner were spot on!! She was fun and very attentive to our entire party. Dinner was 5 stars all around , as many of us are foodies. After dinner we followed up with Valerie who gave us a lovely tour of this beautiful Detroit Club!! “The food hands down is good people automatically assume it's like McDonald's or Burger King where in five or six minutes or less you have your food these people are cooking raw product in Mass quantity trying their absolute best to keep up and maintain quality of product I absolutely don't mind the wait times My two toddlers absolutely love the carnitas chicken wrap give them a chance“

“We came to The Whitney for an early birthday dinner for my husband. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience there! The staff went above and beyond my expectations. The food was amazing and cost was much less than I would have expected for the caliber and presentation of our meals and dessert. For all of you paranormal afficionados, their Ghost Bar is a must. The owners of The Whitney have done so much to preserve this amazing estate in Detroit without any funding assistance from the government or grants. Please consider supporting them by being a patron the next time you are in Detroit.“

My only complaint was the staff could be a little more welcoming and enthusiastic. The lady at the door was on her phone on a facetime call when we came in (which she did appologize for but didn't get off the phone) and the waitress just seemed short and not really happy. She wasn't rude and got our order right, so I still gave it 5 stars. It just seemed with the atmosphere that they would be a little bubblier and more enthusiastic. But I would still definitely come there again. I still gave 5 stars for service because maybe it was an off day and like I said they didn't mess our order up and were quick.“

“I’ve been coming to Family Treats since I was a little girl—back when it was still called Tasty Freeze. The ice cream was always a favorite, and I loved their Coney dogs. Now, years later, I get to share those same memories with my own children. Today, they enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and chili cheese fries, generously treated by my mom. I’m so grateful we can still come here as a family, relive old times, and create new memories together. Places like this are rare gems—filled with tradition, comfort food, and heart.“

No fooling around no loud talking, laughing out loud, just taking care of business.It’s quiet, professional service, everybody working, and most of the time they got my eggs just like I like them. can’t say anything negative about omega, and I always run into Brenda sitting right on the end at the counter. “Only downside to this coney is how long the drive thru takes sometimes. But that means they're busy, which also means other people had the same idea as you at 3am like "dang, you know what would hit right now? Joe's coney."

Just make sure your whole order is there before you dip. I didn't get fries with my burger combo the first time, second time i drove off without my drink, and had also left my card in the drive thru. Guess i could ease off the pen.“

“Great spot near the people mover. The staff was 6 stars but I could only choose 5. We took a dip in the salt water hot tub down in the grotto and enjoyed some tasty craft cocktails from the library. Super cool historical spot with great rooms and amenities. This was our 1st stay but not our last.“

“A tiny "Mom and Pop" shop with outstanding seasoning on their shrimp, chicken, and fish. I got lemon pepper seasoning on the side, but after starting to eat my food, I totally forgot to put it on as it was so flavorable without it. A hint of spice on the shrimp and fish which wasn't too hot, but elevated the food to another level. I'm glad I found this spot and am looking forward to my next visit!“
