“I’m new to the area and ordered pizza and breadsticks from here a couple weeks ago..it was delicious.. Today, I found myself too lazy to cook for myself again and again I put my trust into passport pizza. I was not disappointed. This time I tried the bone in wings. Boy oh boy, when I tell you they were the best carry out wings I have ever had.. I mean it..I was unsure about the mango habanero sauce so it was suggested when I ordered that I get them with the sauce on the side. Well, I ate all of the wings and I still don’t know what the sauce tastes like. They were so good it never even crossed my mind to cover them with anything.. So, if anyone is new to the area (or not) and is unsure of where to order food from.. skip the big pizza chains you’ve been eating and try Passport Pizza in Roseville on 10 mile n Gratiot. You’ll be happy you did.“

“Went to Grey Ghost for my wife’s birthday. The place is very clean, and the service was second to none. We were a party of six and had a great time. The food was out of this world. Would definitely recommend this place for a date night or even a special occasion. Also want to mention the atmosphere is great. The setting was perfect.“

“This was our second visit to Hamilton’s. Upon arrival back, we were immediately reminded why we rebooked. This time last year, the hotel and restaurant were barely open but still left an incredible impression.

This time around, we were just in time to try the new fall menu - which was texted to us in advance with our reservation confirmation. As part-time vegetarians, I’d had my eye on the lasagna. It just so happened, they had a “taste” of lasagna on the specials menu that evening. The vegetables and pasta were cooked perfectly. With the mushrooms, you didn’t miss the meat - at all. And the béchamel. Oh my goodness.

On the advice of Manager David, we also tried the whole roasted chicken. Holy. Moly. This bird was herb brined, starring rosemary. Juicy, tender, perfection. Crispy skin. The smashed potatoes were just stupidly good. Creamy and crispy perfection.

The food, signature cocktails, and amazing wine selections aside, the true stars of Hamilton’s are the staff. David was ever-present without being over-present. BJ delivered his artistry in libation form flawlessly. And Chef personally delivered the chicken and heard all our feedback. We felt like superstars the entire evening.

The owner did reach out to me to apologize and offer cleaning/replacements for my clothing. They also spoke with the staff to make a training and learning lesson for them which I appreciate. I’m changing my rating of the experience based on Owen’s response, as most owners do not attempt to rectify a bad situation.

I have never had an experience as bad as the one I just had at Firebird Tavern. Needless to say I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. The visit started well and our server was very pleasant and attentive. Halfway through our visit, a full tray of drinks and shots was spilled on me to the point that a mop was needed and a wet floor signed was placed behind me. Not only that, but my white shirt is stained and not reparable. I was soaked. The server eventually did apologize to me and told me that she was personally comping ONE of my drinks. First of all, I would NEVER expect the server to comp any drinks. Second of all, I was never approached by the manager to access the damage or talk about comps, WHICH I would assume from the establishment itself. When we were brought our bill, I asked the server, ‘what is the establishment taking care of for my damages’. The manager eventually came to talk to me and did not seem aware of the situation, even after many servers explained what happened and I showed him my clothing that was still wet and stained. He simply replied that the server was comping one drink and he would see what he could do. The server came back with the same bill, no initiative from the bar or manager and I paid for the bill as it was. How is this acceptable from a bar that my table paid several rounds of drinks and food for the night? I have never experienced this lack of care in my life and cannot express my disappointment and frustration with the management and overall experience of Firebird. What an embarrassment to our city. As a resident of the downtown area, I would never expect such a terrible experience.“

“We came to The Whitney for an early birthday dinner for my husband. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience there! The staff went above and beyond my expectations. The food was amazing and cost was much less than I would have expected for the caliber and presentation of our meals and dessert. For all of you paranormal afficionados, their Ghost Bar is a must. The owners of The Whitney have done so much to preserve this amazing estate in Detroit without any funding assistance from the government or grants. “Dinner was amazing, but the drink prices were outrageous! I ordered a glass of Chardonnay expecting just a house wine. On our bill we saw 22.00 for a glass, up charge on cocktails as well! I think the waitress did it on purpose looking for a large tip, which we did not tip on the drinks like that. We love this place, but this kinda turned us off. We have been going for over twenty years!“

“Originally from Michigan but now live in Florida. Went to Detroit for the weekend to attend Red Wings games. Looked for perch dinners and found Andrew’s. Absolutely awesome perch with a generous portion. Loved the atmosphere of the old time era. Staff exceptionally friendly as was the owner. Would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to return. What I liked was the minimal breading so you have the true taste of perch. This is by far the place to go if you love perch.“

Honestly seeing this place for the first time is a breath of fresh air. It’s like dining outside without the blaring sun, the bugs, and the wind blowing away your food. And honestly the prices were not outrageous especially for the atmosphere you are paying for. The service is wonderful and the food was great. Overall experience: 11/10

“My sister and I had lunch yesterday at Jimmys! The service was great! Nikki was our server..She was very friendly…She brought a sample of their Creamy Spinach soup and it was so good. We each had a cup…we split a Patty Melt and Fries and a Gyro Pita….everything was so delicious….So nice to go into a restaurant for the first time and be treated as well as we were! “Came here to eat after the Detroit Half Marathon. Snagged two seats at the bar so we could be in and out. Grabbed a beer. Had the Oktoberfest. I ordered the Creole Chicken pasta. My friend got the burger with sweet potato fries.

I was more than pleased with my pasta entree. The bread was good as well. I was hungry and put it all away, but any ordinary meal, I would have had leftovers.

Service at the bar was attentive and we could sample a couple of beers before settling on one. Had the football game on at the bar.

Today I spoke to one of the delightful (and Gorgeous!) waitresses and told her I hoped to have EXTRA not OVER the top onions and mustard and what I got were THE BEST CONEYS!!!
