“Wow. What an absolutely fantastic final dinner of 2023! After we managed to find a late dinner reservation for New Year's Eve, it was a relief to discover that our excitement about the tasting menu was well-placed. I would definitely recommend the drink pairings as well! The amuse-bouche featuring oysters from the West and East coasts was a delightful way to splash into the meal. The wasabi and the mangosteen featured in each of the oysters, respectively, complimented the beautiful brine of the oysters in such a wonderfully playful way. This first tasting urged us to pause the menu progression and order an extra dozen oysters to explore the other possibilities. Tasting from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island, they were beautifully prepared and of excellent quality. The first course of lobster salad felt like a summer in Maine. Not that I've ever been to Maine, but the imaginary scene flashed across my vision as I took that first refreshing bite. The grapefruit emulsion worked almost majestically with the light, refreshing flavor of the lobster salad. The tapioca chip was perfect for the crunch to fully bring the different elements of the dish together. A fascinating intersection of refreshment and comfort. The second course was the potato pavé. I'll be thinking of this potato often for the foreseeable future. It was one of those dishes that makes your eyes pop open a bit when you bite it as you realize how good it is. A beautifully layered and seared rectangle of flaky delicious potato resting with a lovely salsa brava speckled with trout roe, topped with tarragon, cured trout, and black truffle flakes. I don't even know what else to say. It was stunning. Sea urchin buttered ramen, the third course, will always be what I wish my at-home thrown-together ramen could be. It was rich, it was luscious, it was comforting. Growing up in southeast Texas, crawfish boils were always some of the most exciting times of the year. The crawfish tails in the ramen brought me back to those summer days eating crawfish with a cold beer. The duck breast for the fourth course was exceptionally cooked. It was juicy and flavorful and made a perfect bite with a bit of cauliflower, raisins, apricot, agrodolce, and foie-sauce. Each bite was such a symphony of flavor that kept me coming back. Last but absolutely not least was the gâteau ardéchois: the chestnut cream cake. Accompanied by cranberry coulis and crispy meringue bites, this dessert was a sweet but still mellow finish. While the coffee mascarpone ice cream was a robust and complementary flavor, we both agreed the vanilla coconut ice cream was the star between the two. Thank you again to the stellar crew at Mink! So glad we chose to wait. The atrium is beautiful! Our server, Diego, was fantastic and all his recommendations were hits at the table! “I tried Vicente’s Cuban Restaurant in Detroit last weekend before a Tigers game and it did not disappoint! A lot of restaurants downtown were either closed or had long waits, so I decided to give Vicente’s a try and I’m glad I did. The staff was very friendly, the food came out quickly, and the Pan Con Bistec was amazing. Shoutout to our server Abraham for being so accommodating. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re downtown Detroit!“

“My husband and i came for lunch at 2pm on a Sunday (today) to a SLAMMED restaurant. Only one man seemed to be working the floor, which we found out later was the GM, Pudge. He was OUTSTANDING! He was cleaning tables, seating people, taking orders, delivering orders, prebussing tables, making drinks from the bar, THE WHOLE DEAL. On top of that he made time to stop by the table NUMEROUS times to make sure our experience was amazing, which it was. My husband loved his seafood boil and my chicken tenders were great! Because of today’s experience, we will absolutely be back! THANK YOU Pudge, for an excellent experience! I can’t tell you the last time. I had a wonderful over the top great experience at a restaurant.“

“I've had the pleasure of purchasing food from the space several times. It's located inside of the gas station, but has his own section on the far end. I've had the chance to purchase lunch and dinner, and the food has been really good. The only issue I've had is what I received during those orders. I did not receive everything I requested. “Saw this place on Chowdowndetroit. Thought it would be a nice place to take my Filipina wife for her birthday meal. It was like walking into a nice simple restaurant back in the Philippines. Even had the Filipino favorite past time a Karaoke machine just like back home. The only thing missing were the chickens running around outside crowing. The owners were warm and welcoming with a sense of humor. The food was just like back in the Philippines flavorful and filling. For the price it was a value for the combo meal the right amount of food for one person or split between 2 for a light meal. Of the 4 of us eating I was a piggy and ate it all but the other 3 had leftovers to take home. They offer other thing Filipino to go items from the little Filipino (Sari-Sari) store they have. Overall, it's a place I would drive to from Lansing (1hr 20 min drive) again for on a special occasion. This is a slice of the Philippines in metro Detroit.“

“Here at Byblos for the second time. Byblos serves authentic Lebanese food. Let me begin by saying that the owner is such an awesome guy. I came to the establishment on Sunday when they are actually closed and they still served me a wonderful beef sandwhich. The beef is seasoned very well and it is amazing. So amazing, I had to come back for more. On my second visit, they exceed all expectations with a beautiful chicken and rice platter with salad, hummus, and pita bread. I have had a lot of Mediterranean dishes and Persian dishes in my lifetime to say that Byblos by far has the best hummus I have ever had. The chicken and rice are such a healthy and delicious combination that is not heavy. Many other establishments use too much oil that it can feel too much. Honestly, the portions delivered are enormous. I am having trouble finishing it. Not one aspect is not overflowing. May God bless your restaurant!“

“So disappointing. Yearssssss ago, this place used to be my go to for Mediterranean dishes. After 2020, this place has consistently gone down hill. At first it was "hit or miss" but its all "miss". The car ride home was plagued with the aroma of delicious food, making a 15 minute drive feel like an eternity. Once home, we grabbed forks and dug in like starved hostages. I briefly reminded myself to chew and savory the flavors and not just inhale the plate like a wild animal. Starving or not, the food was perfect! Broccoli to perfection, rice that soaked up the sauce, chicken juicy, salmon flaky and moist. Would order again!“

Me and my sister come here every single week, multiple times. ( we gained most our pregnancy weight here hehe ) if it wasn’t for this place I wouldn’t have had a nice balanced diet and properly gained the weight I needed because I struggle eating pregnant.

My sister just had her baby we even came here right before she went to the hospital for a final meal before labor 😂 we missed out on a few weeks but just came back yesterday. We couldn’t stay away for the food is always a huge craved obsession.

Krista, and the chef Franco have become such wonderful parts of our enjoyment here, always check in on us, how we’re doing, and remember the smallest details. We’re always excited to see them, my daughter gets overly joyed and calls them besty😂❤️. Definitely Can’t forget how amazing and sweet Yvonne, Nicole and the manager Chris is too. Never a bad time with any of them, always such good conversations. They’re all such a breath of fresh air and make the meal even more spectacular.
