“We came here for our anniversary and had a good experience. I loved the staycation cocktail, the calamari and the the sea scallops were the best I’ve ever had. Sadly the lamb appetizer was over cooked and the prime rib was chewy. Not great. It was also served with burnt hummus. Our waitress was good to me but seemed irritated with us that the steak wasn’t great. We won’t be rushing back any time soon. But we love Detroit and trying new restaurants.“

Started with a variety of oysters (the housemade kimchi was excellent), followed by tinned tuna belly with their housemade briny jardiniere, ending with maybe the best lobster roll I've ever had (no mayo, some chili oil heat) and perfectly prepared broccolini. The broccolini was actually on the tasting menu but they were generous enough to make it as a standalone side for us because we wanted to experience enough other things. Can't say enough good things about our dinner. Cocktails and dessert were really good too, though the dinner was on a level above.“

Gavin was our server, and he made great recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the wine list. We had a fun chat about the Culinary Institute of America. And he shared his love of food and wine. The menu is extensive, and all of the food was heavenly. We had the most delicious steaks (cooked to perfection), crab, fresh vegetables with creamy rich sauces, mushrooms were fabulous, and the risotto was perfection! We had strawberries flambé, lemon tart, and crème brûlée. They were all perfectly balanced with rich and bold flavors. The meal was perfectly paced, and Gavin made our evening very special. Waitstaff was attentive and checked in occasionally, despite it being peak hours. Dined in around 8pm. I got in quickly since it was just me, but there can be a bit of a wait as there seemed to be a lot of families(a couple of groups of families were waiting), so be ready if you decide to dine in late afternoon/early evening.Food was fantastic. The starter flatbread with the two garlic aioli(?) sauces(normal + spicy) was hot, fresh, and palatable. Got the Fattoush Salad, the Malek Stir-Fry(chicken), and the Chicken Sajji with a strawberry smoothie. All dishes were delicious and full of flavor. The salad was a bit too vinaigrette-ty for my tastes though. The poultry dishes were savory and the Sajji had that right tinge of heat.“

We intended to just ask one of the servers if he could alert our server we were ready to order but he ended up taking our order for us rather then having us wait and he was very helpful with the menu and very informative. We also met I believe the supervisor or manager after he came to our table and he too was very personable and kind. My husband and I really enjoyed the food and the vibe of the restaurant itself was lively and welcoming. Great drinks! The food was delicious and well prepared. My favourite dish was the carbonara gnocchi and duck breast. I would’ve loved to give this place a 5 star but the service was not great considering we were the only ones at the restaurant. Every time a plate was brought to our table, the server would already be walking away, while describing the contents of the dish. When we would wave the server down to ask a question, he never fully stopped at our table and didn’t wait to see if we had any other questions. He just walked away. Overall, I would come back again since their menu changes seasonally and the food was extremely tasty.“

“We have been searching for a new Chinese restaurant for several years until Ming’s came highly recommended. We love authentic Chinese food and it is fantastic each time we visit. Every dish has its own flavour and perfectly presented. The greatest thing is that the owner and all staff are so wonderful. The restaurant is frequented by many Chinese people which I think is a great sign. We love to look at the dishes that they order and then the wonderful waitstaff make suggestions based there off. They also have Chinese food that most Canadian people might like as well, but we are so thankful we found our new favourite spot. It is a wonderful spot for family or Staff. This place is the best.“

“The Polish Yacht Club's Walleye and Perch are some of the best in all of Detroit (only Andrew's competes and it's a bit more expensive). It's a large portion that's cooked perfectly and tastes incredibly fresh (a rarity around here, but I won't name names). It's fried, but not greasy at all, and it's flaky because it's fresh (no squishy fish here, thank God) Every dinner is served with pickles, coleslaw, French fries and soup so the value is ridiculous. They also don't lack condiments (malt vinegar included) which I appreciate. The inside of the Yacht Club genuinely looks like the Cigar Lounge of a Country Club. I love it. Small, casual with old school elegance. And the service gives off that same vibe. It's like you're in a cigar lounge only with no smoking and excellent food. Personally, I loved the Ivanhoe Club and will be back!“

Our food was cooked exceptionally well and was mega delicious, it was brought out on cue when needed and was hot, the beer was cold, the portions were large and the price was reasonable for such a spectacular meal. We shared the fried green beans appetizer, and had the smothered chicken breast/vegetable blend, loaded baked potato soup, side salads, chicken parmesan, been soup with ham, draft beer (from their awesome selection) and a dirty martini. We can't wait to go back for our second time here. Kudos to all the staff, chefs, and management for putting together such a well orchestrated customer oriented team. I almost did not put in this review as we got the last spot available in the large parking lot - should the word get out to everyone, and then where would we be if we could not get in to our new special restaurant discovery?“
“We came to The Auburn Cafe with a party of 12, We had reservation. Everybody enjoyed their meals from the steak to the Grape leaves and kabobs. The kabobs come with only the meat cooked, veggies raw on the side. The Lemon potatoes were awesome. The service was very good and fast for as busy as it was. It was a nice evening out. Not a real fancy place but good food. Will visit again.“
