“Tried this place for the first time today! Rider was my server and he was absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable funny and sweet. Genuinely had such a good time just being in his presence and he was very attentive! Tried the flaming fig, although without the jam. Didn't personally find it too spicy without the jam, although my friend found it slightly spicy with the jam. Either way it was the most delicious grilled cheese ever. Great wine selection, and don't be afraid to try the espresso drink made with blood orange soda, it was very good! On the store side of things, there was a great selection of product and the service was great. Will definitely tell as many people as possible about this place and will come again!“

“Love this bar! Came for wine with a friend and sat at the bar. The bartenders were so incredibly kind and helpful and appreciated all their tips on what to order. Even though the bar was filled with people it didn’t feel too crowded or loud. Would come again!“

“My fiancée and I had a really lovely Valentine’s dinner at Romolo. The interior was cozy, especially with the soft lighting and local art along the interior. It was lively for the holiday, but not cramped.
We started with drinks and the Fritto Misto(not pictured) which was excellent. I had the Rigatoni Lucanica for my entree. The sauce and fennel sausage had a nice heat to them from the banana peppers. It was unique compared to most Italian pasta dishes. My fiancée had the Costolette D’Angnello, which was on a whole other level. The lamb was cooked perfectly at medium rare, very tender and not gamey in the least. The polenta and greens were savory, as well.
They had a special dessert for the evening, Spumoni gelato covered in dark chocolate and pistachio crumbs. The appetizer and entree portions were generous, but we couldn’t say no to such a tempting dessert. The service was warm and attentive from all staff. We’d love to come back and try the pizza next time. Thank you for such a memorable evening!“

“Update: New owners, but the same wonderful hospitality. It was a pleasure to meet Sam and Taylor at the latest Pick Up Party; they have great plans for MBTB! MBTB always makes us feel welcome. We're Sipper Club members and it's worth joining - special pricing, special events and early notification of our favorite wines from wineries throughout Michigan. Snacks are available to purchase, but we sometimes take our own meat, cheese and fruit tray with us to enjoy there with our wine. It's a great place to meet up with friends too.“

“A very well curated selection of wines. I don't always come for the entertainment (unless it's Miguel Migs), but to purchase wine and every single time it's been superb. For example, MCW had Georgian wine, very few people know how good it is. I can't recall how much I spent, but the flavor was brilliant. I prefer MCW for wine by a parsec rather than a grocery store.“

“Wow. What an absolutely fantastic final dinner of 2023! After we managed to find a late dinner reservation for New Year's Eve, it was a relief to discover that our excitement about the tasting menu was well-placed. I would definitely recommend the drink pairings as well! The amuse-bouche featuring oysters from the West and East coasts was a delightful way to splash into the meal. The wasabi and the mangosteen featured in each of the oysters, respectively, complimented the beautiful brine of the oysters in such a wonderfully playful way. This first tasting urged us to pause the menu progression and order an extra dozen oysters to explore the other possibilities. Tasting from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island, they were beautifully prepared and of excellent quality. The first course of lobster salad felt like a summer in Maine. Not that I've ever been to Maine, but the imaginary scene flashed across my vision as I took that first refreshing bite. The grapefruit emulsion worked almost majestically with the light, refreshing flavor of the lobster salad. The tapioca chip was perfect for the crunch to fully bring the different elements of the dish together. A fascinating intersection of refreshment and comfort. The second course was the potato pavé. I'll be thinking of this potato often for the foreseeable future. It was one of those dishes that makes your eyes pop open a bit when you bite it as you realize how good it is. A beautifully layered and seared rectangle of flaky delicious potato resting with a lovely salsa brava speckled with trout roe, topped with tarragon, cured trout, and black truffle flakes. I don't even know what else to say. It was stunning. Sea urchin buttered ramen, the third course, will always be what I wish my at-home thrown-together ramen could be. It was rich, it was luscious, it was comforting. Growing up in southeast Texas, crawfish boils were always some of the most exciting times of the year. The crawfish tails in the ramen brought me back to those summer days eating crawfish with a cold beer. The duck breast for the fourth course was exceptionally cooked. It was juicy and flavorful and made a perfect bite with a bit of cauliflower, raisins, apricot, agrodolce, and foie-sauce. Each bite was such a symphony of flavor that kept me coming back. Last but absolutely not least was the gâteau ardéchois: the chestnut cream cake. Accompanied by cranberry coulis and crispy meringue bites, this dessert was a sweet but still mellow finish. While the coffee mascarpone ice cream was a robust and complementary flavor, we both agreed the vanilla coconut ice cream was the star between the two. Thank you again to the stellar crew at Mink! On top of being a great hang for dinner they were gracious enough to donate to a fundraiser a group of mine was hosting at planet ant a few summers ago, which means they’re great generous people too!!! “On Friday, February 6, we went to Capitol Grille. It has been our “Go to” restaurant for birthdays and anniversaries for many years, except the disappointment of our absence during the repairs caused by the fire. The food is excellent, the service superb. This time, however, we went to celebrate a very special event. We had no intention of disclosing the purpose, except to tell them it was a very special event. The hostess that seated us, got my wife to disclose the event. Before we knew it, the Manager, Eric, came to our table, expressing congratulations, etc. Several others, some we knew, and others we did not, also came to our table to express their congratulations. Eric then returned a second time, with more kind words. What we learned during this visit, Capitol Grille is not only about great food, and great service, it is about the people, very special people who made this visit extraordinary. Mike R.“

“I visited this past Valentine’s Day weekend and visited again this past Saturday night. I didn’t have a reservation but still got seated very quickly. It was a hot, muggy night and the hostess said she had a seat on the patio which I was fine with. I had a magnificent server, Florence, who was kind, thoughtful to recommend a drink to the person I was with and even when our drinks were brought out within a short time, apologized for the delay (which wasn’t necessary). I wish I could give a review on the party next to us because they were extremely rude, not only not giving consideration to others being on the patio but were also incredibly rude to Florence. One woman in particular was grandstanding in front of this group and demanded to speak to a manager. Florence and the Manager were both composed and dignified in spite of a rude patron that was looking to get her bill comped (for a party of nearly a dozen people) going so far as to threatening to have everyone at her table write a terrible review. I have worked in the service industry and so have so many people I know and love so this situation had me worked up and I felt it necessary to write a review that our experience was magnificent. Don’t be an a-hole to servers of any kind just because you’re an a-hole yourself. If you give respect, you get respect. Go to The Sugar House. Be a good customer.“

“Overall enjoyed my experience here. Main issue I had was that we had a reservation and still had to wait quite a long time to be seated after we arrived. Food and service were both good. Had to park far away due to the restaurant being so busy as well.“

“Yes, but - the order and pay by phone ruins the overall experience of Mudgies. Can’t ask an app about the menu. Spent 10 minutes looking on the interface to order an ice tea. Figured it was my lack of finding the menu. Had to flag someone down to learn they were out of ice tea. All those things a server would tell you. But alas you don’t get. So good food, crappy experience! Lower your expectations, taking on the McDonald’s approach, sad really. Oh and if you want an item on the side they charge extra for that?! And with this order system no one asked me how my lunch was- or if I needed anything. So my sandwich was cold and sat awhile before it was quickly dropped at my table. I am so bummed - loved this place. The good news is there are now a ton of amazing options for lunch in Corktown. I recommend tipping much less because you are really on your own.“

“First time at beppé, and won't be our last. Made reservations for my wife's birthday, and they paid attention in the slickest ways. We were greeted warmly, they wished my wife happy birthday, and the entire experience only got better. Our server, Mikaela was outstanding—read the room like a pro, had perfect timing/pacing, was so kind and graceful—nailed it from cocktails to dessert. Everything that hit out table (cocktails, apps, entrées, and a sweet birthday desert delivered by the chef) was impressive. 10/10 from the moment we walked in the door until a sincere goodbye when we left. Simply, it was a perfect dining experience, and I don't say that loosely. Would absolutely recommend, zero hesitation.“

“I've frequented the Library numerous times but recently visited the restaurant twice this month with friends -- and it just gets better and better. Our server Jonathan S. was not only friendly and welcoming but extremely knowledgeable about the menu, history of the building, and on-site offerings such as the upstairs cigar and billiards lounge. Had the most luxurious ribeye and octopus of my life. Detroit Club is quickly becoming my favorite place in the city.“

“This is a fabulous place of elegance and 5star service! Food chef💋's!! I had the absolute pleasure of cohosting a surprise 60th celebration for my very special sister. Daniel Cole over private events was so God sent! Very patient and empathetic, helpful and direct which I really appreciated and needed. Planning parties are quite stressful in its self, from the guest list to food allergies! Daniel and his team, Stacey and associates they were all 😇angels, and put my mind at ease and followed thru with actions!!! My sister loved them and friends and family gave high praises to the whole staff!! If the staff wasn't enough and great food,Also a plus for this place, valet and plenty of free convenient parking in front of the restaurant!!!!! Thanks again Ruth Chris 💋!“

“Had a 9:15 reservation on Valentine's Day and was not able to get sat until 9:40ish and food took 45 minutes to get to us. This was all completely understandable telling by how busy they were. The entire staff was on top of everything and did an amazing job that night. Because of the long ticket times without even asking they discounted 50% of the bill because of the inconvenience. Will 100% be back what a lovely establishment.“
