The atmosphere is perfect for a fancy date. Very romantic setting to impress. I don't drink alcohol and they had an alcohol free 0% Giasen Merlot which was exquisite. I started with French Onion Soup and Cheese Popover Muffins. For an entree, I had Australian Rib Lamb Chops with a Mint Demi Glase. For a side, I enjoyed Brussels Sprouts with Honey Dijon Mustard Sause. Everything exceeded my expectations and the Merlot paired nicely with the Lamb Chops. I highly recommend the Chop House as a must visit dining destination in the heart of Grand Rapids.”

We ordered gyoza, rangoon, karaage chicken, and beef ramen. We were recommended this restaurant so we were excited to give it a go. Sadly, it was a bit of a miss for us. The gyoza, Rangoon, and ramen didn’t really taste to either of us like anything special warranting the price. There’s an Asian takeaway close to home that we prefer for these items and it’s a bit cheaper. Lunch prices weren’t great. I liked the sauce for the karaage chicken, but the chicken pieces weren’t very good. My hubs actually had to go inside and get salt. I hate leaving negative reviews, I’m not sure if they were having a bad day? We were really hoping to have a special lunch, but ended up paying double what we would’ve elsewhere for food that was less tasty. I was really, really surprised. And disappointed. Even if we’d paid less, I prob still wouldn’t return. The flavors just weren’t flaving. Like, it was good, but not remarkable. The Rangoon were probably the best bites, but I can get the same or better quality elsewhere for half the price.

“My girlfriends and I met at Blue Water for dinner tonight. Our waiter named Will made our dinner so enjoyable and fun. Our dinner came out so fast and the food was delicious. We split a dessert that we all didn’t care for. The General Manager Sheena came over immediately and offered us to try something different. She brought us a new dessert. She was so sweet and personable.”

“Rumi’s Garden was our first time trying Afghan food, and it was a great introduction to the cuisine!
We ordered the Afghani Feast, which is supposed to feed five people, but we actually had enough food to comfortably feed six. Everything was really delicious and well seasoned without being overly spicy. We especially enjoyed the variety of meat selections and how flavorful everything was.
If you’ve never tried Afghan food before, I’d definitely recommend giving Rumi’s Garden a try. It’s a great way to experience something new without feeling overwhelmed by the flavors or spice level.
One cool thing about this location is that it shares the building with Raza, an Indian restaurant that I’m already looking forward to trying next. So if you’re in the Grand Rapids area and want to explore Afghan or Indian food, you’ve got two options right there to check out!”

I really miss that short little girl Danica I would come in every single day with my dog and she didn’t hold up the line by any means Danica was one of the best most efficient back through Drive person I’ve ever seen I know Danica climb to be in a manager at one time and then she I guess something happened I’m not sure she took sick or something I really miss seeing that girls face I hope she’s doing good! Every time I come to the drive-through I always pray it’s Danica There! “I went picked Brass Ring Brewing to celebrate my birthday with my family. I choose Brass Ring because I was interested in trying their cask ales. What I found at Brass Ring was a level of customer service that I have rarely found across the food service industry. We showed up at Brass Ring to find that a very large group was dining there, taking up a majority of the seating. They don't take reservations, so it was going to be a challenge finding a table for our group of 6. The owner heard the staff struggling to find us an available table. He jumped in and found a solution. He personally asked a couple that was seated at a large table if they would be willing to move. They graciously accepted to make room for us. This level of customer service has obviously been trained into the entire staff because our waiter was the most helpful and hospitable server I've ever encountered. Firstly, he was extremely knowledgeable of food and drink menu, helping us to navigate it superbly. He also got the entire restaurant to sing "Happy Birthday" with us when it was time for dessert. The food and drinks were top notch, but the customer service was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the Brass Ring. You will not be disappointed!”

“My nephew and I shared a meal here today and our experiences ranged from very good to off the scale great. We tried a Hot Mess breakfast with eggs, potatoes, chorizo,etc; it was perfectly balanced (neither to spicy or bland), super fresh; loved it. We also got a grilled cheese, with pepper jelly. The bread was the best ever (toasted perfectly) and crunchy, and it wasn't to cheesy (some places put too much cheese which makes it messy) with just enough pepper jelly to create an original experience; and one of my favorite sandwiches of my life. The salad was the low point of the meal as it was merely perfect. We also got a chocolate croissant which was great and a pot de creme which was decadent and..can I say perfect again. This is my new favorite place”

I liked the sauce for the karaage chicken, but the chicken pieces weren’t very good. My hubs actually had to go inside and get salt. I hate leaving negative reviews, I’m not sure if they were having a bad day? We were really hoping to have a special lunch, but ended up paying double what we would’ve elsewhere for food that was less tasty. I was really, really surprised. And disappointed. Even if we’d paid less, I prob still wouldn’t return. The flavors just weren’t flaving. Like, it was good, but not remarkable. The Rangoon were probably the best bites, but I can get the same or better quality elsewhere for half the price.

“Vivant Brewery & Spirits in Grand Rapids was a really enjoyable experience and easily one of the more distinctive brewery settings I have visited.
The atmosphere is what grabbed me first. The building was originally a funeral home chapel, and instead of trying to hide that history, they leaned into it. The stained glass above the bar is especially striking, and the exposed wood, high ceilings, and historic architecture give the space a sophisticated, almost European feel. It has a lot of character without feeling gimmicky.
We only stopped in for appetizers, but everything we tried was very tasty. Vivant is known for putting more effort into the food than the typical brewery, with a from-scratch menu and some more creative options than standard bar food. Their duck nachos, beer cheese and pretzels, frites, and poutine are some of the items that come up repeatedly with other guests.
The drink side is just as interesting. They focus heavily on European-inspired beers, but they also make spirits and offer craft cocktails, so there is quite a bit more variety than you get at a brewery that is strictly about beer.
What I liked most was the overall vibe. It feels a little more refined and sophisticated than the average taproom, but it is still comfortable and relaxed enough that you can just sit down, have a drink, share some food, and enjoy the building.

“I went picked Brass Ring Brewing to celebrate my birthday with my family. I choose Brass Ring because I was interested in trying their cask ales. What I found at Brass Ring was a level of customer service that I have rarely found across the food service industry. We showed up at Brass Ring to find that a very large group was dining there, taking up a majority of the seating. They don't take reservations, so it was going to be a challenge finding a table for our group of 6. The owner heard the staff struggling to find us an available table. He jumped in and found a solution. He personally asked a couple that was seated at a large table if they would be willing to move. They graciously accepted to make room for us. This level of customer service has obviously been trained into the entire staff because our waiter was the most helpful and hospitable server I've ever encountered. Firstly, he was extremely knowledgeable of food and drink menu, helping us to navigate it superbly. He also got the entire restaurant to sing "Happy Birthday" with us when it was time for dessert. The food and drinks were top notch, but the customer service was out of this world. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the Brass Ring. You will not be disappointed!”

We ordered the Afghani Feast, which is supposed to feed five people, but we actually had enough food to comfortably feed six. Everything was really delicious and well seasoned without being overly spicy. We especially enjoyed the variety of meat selections and how flavorful everything was.
If you’ve never tried Afghan food before, I’d definitely recommend giving Rumi’s Garden a try. It’s a great way to experience something new without feeling overwhelmed by the flavors or spice level.
One cool thing about this location is that it shares the building with Raza, an Indian restaurant that I’m already looking forward to trying next. So if you’re in the Grand Rapids area and want to explore Afghan or Indian food, you’ve got two options right there to check out!”

“We didn’t check what time they closed so we were kind of jerks and showed up half hour before closing. Even still the staff was all wonderful. It was our first time here so we took a minute ordering, but she was still sweet waiting patiently. When we got the food it was all excellent. They even took my mom’s/grandmas burger back to cut it in half because they always share one. I will definitely be returning hopefully while they still have the Krispy krab burger.”

“I'm a fan of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods so I was excited to try this place out. When we got there an hour to close, the owner was out of all his typical authentic foods like shawarmas, but since we were interested, he gave us a free pizza on the house. I still haven't had the chance to go back and try something authentic off the menu but I'm still very excited to return. The owner treats customers very well here.”
